I agree with you. I also don't agree with the whole notion of IQ because it originated from a racial context.
People would say the same about my own country and a few others, that we're inferior, but I know from experience that some countries keep getting brutally exploited. It's not that a lot of people have a supposed 'low IQ', but it's the fact that opportunities were very scarce, and a lot of the educated class were forced to leave. Jobs were scarce.
To illustrate, my country became one of the most indebted countries in the world after a coup orchestrated by the US. Decades later, when I was a teen, I remember seeing a ranking of countries by IQ, and mine was one of those at the bottom. Being indebted for decades and essentially broke as a country carries its own set of social problems as well.
Now that we're getting better economically, there are more opportunities, and companies have been quietly outsourcing here from the US and other places in some industries, including tech, especially because some of our people are so brilliant.
As for my own experience, me and others had to fight tooth and nail to grow the industry I currently work in. All odds were stacked against us. Yet, I'm sure others would label us as having low IQ simply because we weren't able to produce the same results other countries did.

A long time ago, I came across a joke in Reader's Digest that go something like this:
A Trader in the Indian state of Kerela ship mud crabs to a foreign client in open baskets, but all the crabs were always accounted for at the receiving end. Puzzled, the client asked his supplier in Kerela for the reason why the crabs don't climb out of the basket to escape, to which the supplier simply answer: "Oh, these are Indian crabs. I showed that joke to an Indian acquaintance in Mumbai (then called Bombay) and, after reading it, solemnly stated, "That's so true with Indians."
*NB: I need to add that though it was a joke for me, but to my Indian acquaintance, it was a fact of life in India which sheds some light on how that shaped their mentality & attitude.
I need to state that I know many India Indians who are extremely intelligent, friendly, hospitable & and helpful with whom I have kept in touch with some even after all these years.

Despite holding similar views, I'll be a devil's advocate and say that Indians, at least certain Indians, are very good at financing and mercentalism. Innovations may come and go but this is why Indians keep chugging along despite the shackles holding them back.
