TBH foreigners have this notion that they should be treated equally but the thing is Indians have been shut out and actively harmed by the world at large we developed at our own pace now times have changed it’s either you adapt or go back doesn’t really matter to us we will do it on our own anyway it might take us a bit more time but we’ll get there all the same play by our rules or no need to do business here

China will feel offended to being compared to India. The problem in India is not only corruption, and let's be realistic, no country in the world doesn't suffer from corruption but in India corruption is way of life and there is no unity and agreed set of economic policies set to be followed for atleast 2 decades. Every new government elected has it's different Ecnomic policies and is chanes when it's out of power but even if all of that is wrong; Indian's in culture are people that hate risk taking and lack of appetite of working with outside worlds, they love working and running business outside India but shuts it's doors in in it's border's. China on the other hand is willing to take longterm risks; enjoy it's success and are always look for outside investment opportunities to biuld the countries wealth and infrastructure.

Until the Hindi Heartland States reform like Tamilnadu and Maharashtra, there is no space for India to become a super power. Most of the FDI investments are dragged into Gujarat or Maharashtra. The Prime Minister should be impartial in fund allocation. No former Prime Ministers had such parochialism attitude. Atal Bihari Vajpayee won the hearts of Southern Peninsula States. Why?
Modiji may have the right answer.

This is so strange that this is coming from this government which criticizes previous governments and calls their policies as socialism. Isn't that just another form of socialism, going by their own understanding of socialism.
@heinuchung8680
What does India lack->Vision.
The Indian government has no real vision it's disorganized overtaxing foreign firms, killing smaller firms with heavy unxs, so you have many smart engineers who can't work as engineers and basically have to leave for the west (brain drain) or stay and be underutilized. India will never be like China no where this is better represented than Chinese cities vs Indian ones. Indian cities dirty and disorganized while Chinese ones are organized with good public transport. Both countries have poor rural areas.
@stop_the_cc
Chyna is not unique at all. They learned from Japan and Korea. China has already hit the wall and is following Japan's path; they will be in a deflationary spiral for the next few decades. India may be slower than China, but its growth is sustainable.
@SidraRamzan-j8c
Oh God, so you Indians don’t accept the truth. We thought you only had issues with us Pakistanis, but you guys can’t handle constructive criticism from anyone. You’ve created your own reality, are happy with it, and refuse to accept the facts.
@andrewareva4605
India has a great deal of human capital and potential. They should work intimately with China to allow Chinese companies to help them improve their infrastructure, but also invest. However, their nationalism blinds them to this possibility and they keep siding against China as if they wish to start a war with China instead.

US should leaves the money in America n hire locals n foreigners with skills to work here on work permits n collect fees on visa..dont give out Green Cards n citizenships too soon n also record finger n foot prints into our computers if they r bad when u ban those workers make sure they dont return with another foreign passports.Government can make money by giving permits n charge a fees on their visa.Tht s good n they contribute SS n pay US taxes.When companies produce their goods here with their money they build their factory on government lands n pay rental not buy if they want to leave they cant bring their buildings n government can rerent the buildings but be be with industrial safety codes.

@basspoett
Oh, wow. A deep-dive into the economic problems of 2015? This was a fascinating history lesson. I was worried you were going to talk about modern India for a second.
A phobia of large companies? Right. I guess someone forgot to tell Apple, which is now churning out iPhones from India like there's no tomorrow. Maybe you should rush over and warn them that the country is hostile before they sink billions more into their operations. It's hilarious to see India being critiqued for this while other countries are practically begging for a fraction of that investment. What a terrible problem for India to have.
And India is protectionist? That's rich. I suppose the US with its Inflation Reduction Act or Europe with its carbon tariffs are the true champions of open, free trade? Please. The hypocrisy is stunning. While other economies are struggling, India is somehow failing with a meager $70 billion in foreign investment last year. Must be that off-putting protectionism global investors find so terrifying.
My favorite part was the critique of the ineffective Special Economic Zones. A measly $160 BILLION in exports from them last year. Barely worth mentioning. I'm sure most countries would be absolutely devastated by that level of ineffective performance. They're probably crying all the way to the bank.
Hello Western Jealous buddy I'm from INDIA, Even your tactic to attract views and engagements from indians prove that you guys need indian engagement to survive, but criticizing India for being too ambitious and trying to leapfrog into high tech. Heaven forbid a nation of 1.4 billion people tries to build a future beyond sewing t-shirts. They should probably just stick to the scxt, right? Let them learn from the economic geniuses in the West who offshored their entire manufacturing base and now face crippling supply chain issues. That seems like a much better model to follow.
Honestly, A for effort, but an F for timely research. This analysis is so outdated it belongs in a museum.
@faisal-ca
Their FDI numbers are looking strong, although with some years showing growth and others experiencing a slight dip. Some companies receiving a higher tax bill don't show that companies are packing up and leaving. I am not from India, so I'm not defending them. I am a data guy and will believe it when I see the right indicators going down.
India has a wealth distribution problem, hence poverty and lower per capita GDP, but that is a different topic.
@wansh013
Your calculation about India manufacturing only 2% for the world is highly flawed. Remember we ourselves are 15+ % of the wrold population and make a lot of stuff for ourselves. And our Labour laws are far better than that of China. No lack of labour but yes they are at the lowest skill level.
@manojkumarhk5696
Misleading title. Clearly see the propaganda intention here.
Though not denying the problems that exists. Infact, they are the reasons why India is not growing in double digits yoy, struggling to compete in terms of tech innovations at global level, etc. But nothing like MNCs are fleeing the country.
@methyl2012
China has speed, quality, capacity, expertise, skills, cost and management efficiency, precision, design, innovation, technology, infrastructures and ..... put together to make China number 1 in the world, even US couldn't keep up to China. India??? Sorry to tell honestly, you are far far behind China, so stop lying and boosting what you can't do, it will only disgrace yourself globally...
@himanshusirohi2403
How can a country once we colonized could to what west does and in a better way? Let's shame, name and bring it down. Every country has got problems, but this name calling? Brits never will be ashamed of their doings. They still think they got a say in our matter.
@joandelur4407
preventable, haven't China techs, materials, capacity, and structures to compete. Haven't leverage to change that for long time. Lonely leverage were mere words, that's from US bullism going on, iseless, hollow. Don't work with market circumstancrs, less with China.
@Poppinszz
india is an independent country with rules and regulations. companies running in india wants to follow rules and regulations of govt. otherwise govt will charge fine and penalty, if companies wants to question this they can go to court and question. it is none of foreigners reactions to interfere in india's internal matter and do propaganda video like this.
@RB-fp8hn
Let me translate Samsung's argument that they have been doing this since 2017 and nothing has ever happened. What they are really saying, is "we managed to bribe officers and hoodwink the legal system for so long, but now suddenly they are investigating our process and catching us red handed". There is a lot wrong with the business landscape in India, but many foreign firms left India because they expected to be treated like kings, but then discovered that they have to follow the law. In their defense, however, I can say (with some inside knowledge) that many of these laws are completely nonsensical and implemented in an ad hoc manner. The situation is far worse for smaller home-grown firms and startups. India has become a fiefdom run by a couple of business families.
@saurabhrao1981
What a poorly researched video - It would have been so much better if they had bothered talking to actual companies in India on the problems they face. I head a company there; the struggle with the system is a never-ending affair. Most of the issues we face weren't covered here.
@harshavandu
As one of the appreciators of VisualEconomik and VisualPolitik, let me drop some reality checks to clear a few misunderstandings :
Corruption in India is not a top down issue. It is more of a bottom up issue. In fact, the present govt has inspired hopes in people to expect zero corruption from their governance.
Yes, laws are a heck of a problem in India. But then, laws are not the reason for corruption. The companies opting to operate here need to have some character to oblige with the laws as well - instead of perpetually opting to find loopholes to exploit.
Yes, education was a problem in India, but now the people are using very versatile methods to upskill. And Internet has played a powerful role there.
Not to forget, China got all the US printing machine dollars, the tech, and the tailwinds of the 1980s-2010s. In comparison, India only has headwinds, headwinds and more headwinds. Global market crashes, protectionism, dollar duation amid US bonds crisis, on shoring of manufacturing, supply chain insecurities, etc are just a few in the list.
Still, India is hopeful. India is busy. And importantly, India is determined.
The thumbnail is inaccurate. Please stand corrected.
@nizammazlan8613
India cannot be a powerhouse. Why? Because even though they have 1.4 billion population, it is divided by 200+ language. There is no common tongue in India besides English. Not everyone learn Hindi. Compare that with China, sure they have 100+ languages of different provincial area but 1 common tongue where everyone MUST learn. Mandarin.
India itself as a state in only in name. The real India is divided into more than 10 different "state".
@DosDosDosDosDos787
In the entire video you didn't name a single company that left india..india has 1.4 billion people we don't accommodate to foreign companies they accommodate to us you want access to the worlds biggest market you have to follow our laws..i do agree with u on some points we have corruption in our country and its true i think the volkswagen and samsung lawsuit feel like cashgrabs nobody in india supports those..we need better laws for companies❤
@superchiller123chill
Im indian and to me a lot of this seems like overblown criticism. VW is definitely struggling to compete in India and this is really not the first time they are accused of Fraud come on.
Secondly india has shifted focus to manufacturing but we cannot compete with Chinese state run firms in the global market which are not looking at profit. this is a waiting game till China runs out of steam.
Third yes most of what is said is true but structural problems exist in every country. People having been expecting China to collapse for decades.
@kiran75424
As an Indian, I agree that China still has leverage and skills when it comes to manufacturing. Unlike India, which has nothing but useless software services and a corrupt bureaucracy, which makes companies disinterested in manufacturing in India.
@thecomment9489
Do you know why software services sector thrived in India and manufacturing did not? It is because to start a manufacturing planet/factory the owner will ned at least 50 NOCs from various corrupt government departments like environmental clearance, air and water no pollution clearance, electricity and water supply clearance etc while a software company doesn't require all such clearances. So Indian government is the very reason why India can never become a manufacturing hub because the radical reforms needed won't be done so just delude about becoming a manufacturing powerhouse. And remind you that despite all these hurdles Indian cities are the most polluted in the world with just 2-3% of global manufacturing output.
So those Europe like high clearance standards neither protected the environment nor made India a manufacturing powerhouse.
@armyofimrankhanpti1516
I think you really need to hire a writter.
Indian bureaucracy and wealth escape is true, but your video is too messy, it's almost hazy.
Also, India wasn't a foreign companies heaven to begin with.
I can list 1000 more points, but it looks you made this video without proper reaseech.
@abellyold4859
India buying more arms from US makes sense. India buying more oil from US does not make sense. India is getting plenty of cheap Russian and nearby Gulf Arab oil and gas. US oil and gas need to travel half the globe to reach India.
@wanderingsoul7348
Literally everyone is begging to make in India including big firms like Apple, Tesla etc. What are you talking about. Apple moved all it's manufacturing from China to India. Tesla is begging Indian government to allow them to make cars in India. Make in India is a big success. Stop this nonsense false propaganda. A simple google search will reveal the truth.
@thecomment9489
Apple may have moved some of it's production to India because India may have forced Apple that if they want to sell their overpriced iPhones in India they will have to so-called make them in India which is assemble in India because mso parts would still be imported from China.
And Apple may have agreed because even though Indian market is not very huge for Apple's products but still most Indians who own an iPhone have purchased it on EMI/loans about 70%. So in most likelihood Apple's India "manufactured/assembled" iPhones will be largely sold in India and other such poor markets.
As for Tesla, musk has categorically said that he will not open his Tesla manufacturing plant in India and it's not possible to buy a Tesla car on EMi/loans.
@Curiosity-d8l
Well , No one can stop the rise of India , it will be major force with in this century , obviously it will not be as rich as USA or as powerhouse as China but it has it own aspirations to fulfill , to which most indians are anware of , it will be most welcomed society in world in next century but Europe will be called most short lived civilization in history.
@Bigb-pj5uc
The ass burning smell from haters against a country which is developing from hard works instead of doing dirty jobs and cunning cruel plans ,it doesn't matter what happened in russia after companys leave ,they replaced themself and got succed in gdp,that s reason india choose making india ,know the west itself making collaboration,india learned so much from decades who are real friends and who are back stabers on opportunity
@yogeshbhatia6748
India has become the 4th largest economy despite China's politics and its proxy Pakistan trying to pull India into conflict at China's instructions...don't worry China..this Chinese propaganda against Indian manufacturing is funny and would not succeed
