You know i remember from way back in the 80's hearing about the need to urbanise our populations. I was sceptical at the time as i watched and listened to this idea. But after watching this all the way through. I was convinced it had merits to it. And i became a believer in this conceptual idea. We do need to bring our populations to urban centers. Bt doing so we can firstly give back lands to nature. So nature can off set our carbon we release into the atmosphere. Second our resource use would cut away much of our pollution we produce by consumption. Third we cut our energy use by living in concentration urban centers. There is far more benefits to urbanization. All of which gives us collectively better lives. And cuts down on spending across the board. The Chinese seem to have come to understand this concept and i see them implementing this.

A land where, just a few years ago, the humble ballpoint pen was a mythical beast, a capricious contraption that would sooner explode ink onto your finest trousers than grace your parchment with a smooth, consistent line. Not only did they conquer this once-insurmountable challenge, but they also leaped forward in every other field of technology. Suddenly, their toasters could predict the future, their refrigerators dispensed gourmet meals on demand, and their self-exploding electric cars obeyed traffic laws with unnerving precision.
Now, China sets its sights on the stars! Their scientists, fueled by the hubris of their pen-conquering past, have declared that aliens are merely a minor inconvenience on the road to intergalactic domination. Why settle for earthly achievements when you can surpass beings from other galaxies? Forget diplomacy, China is building a giant, pen-shaped spaceship, armed with ink cannons that can blot out entire solar systems.
The aliens, naturally, are terrified. They've sent emissaries, offering their most advanced technologies in exchange for China staying put. But China scoffs. "What good are your warp drives and energy shields," they declare, "when you can't even make a decent pen?"
The universe holds its breath, wondering if China's ambition will lead to a new era of cosmic enlightenment or a hilariously misguided intergalactic war fought with giant ink stains. One thing is certain: no one will ever underestimate the power of a well-crafted ballpoint pen again.

Seems western geopoliticians are very reluctant to enter climate changes and probabilities into their discussions of global power shifts and all. Global changes due to climate are on the rise like China itself yet gets rare mentions. Radical reductions in world population, production and sheer survivability are already underway. “Development” or war seems all one needs to promise for environmental damage to proceed at any cost. The modern northern hemisphere’s legal power structures can be seen as preparing for the survival of a few. Except maybe in China . . . . So, thanks for this presentation.

Just a quick correction to Professor Gregory's comment at 4:23 about emmissions from wildfires in 2023. They DID NOT exceed those of fossil fuels! In 2023 the global emissions from wildfires was about 2.2 billion tonnes, while emissions from fossil fuels was about 37 billion tonnes. That's almost 16 times MORE from fossil fuels!!

If they do, the people realize Australia 20 years behind China in missile tube. The dam is also complete, reaching 97.6% completion as of Jan 2025, according to the GERD Project Coordination Office. With an installed capacity of 5.15 gigawatts, the dam is the largest hydroelectric power plant in Africa and among the 20 largest in the world. GERD will provide more than enough electric power for Ethiopia and enough spare power to supply neighboring countries while helping "foster regional cooperation and integration".
