Hi Zaza, I've seen people talk about how successful your channel is, suggesting you can spend more money... But I always think they're being ridiculous because your channel is fairly new... The way YouTube works until a creator can sustain large views for at least 2 years, the creator should not run around changing their lifestyle.

Here in Thailand, pants and a t-shirt are about five dollars US total price  and good quality. I admire your frugal lifestyle; I am the same way. It has enabled me to save a small fortune over the years. I have bought a house, cars, the big-ticket items without getting a bank loan. The Chinese are very smart with money; a lot of people in from other countries could learn from their example.

I am happy for Zaza. I realize he is getting more successful now and has more $$, but he does create good interesting content and, as far as i can tell, he is saving up $$ for his future and also to help renovate his parent's retirement home. More people should probably be more frugal anyway.

Zaza - I made quite a bit of money through hard work and savings.  I was never much interested in clothes or design designer labels. Now I am retired and quite comfortable but still live carefully.  I have always been generous with charities and helping others and that is what has made me happy in life!  You are doing just fine with what you are doing and I respect you for that.

I do this too. I don't think it's wrong. I get pleasure by spending little, not by consuming. And when I sometimes decide to splurge, it feels really special.
And it's so nice to have money in case of an emergency or for things that are really important

I also like saving. I save by only buying what I need. When I do buy something, I make sure it's good quality which lasts a long time. My saving all goes to  my kids' education. Hopefully, When they go to college, they won't have to worry about the cost.

How you grow up definitely shapes and influences your relationship with money. I grew up in a single-parent household where we lived paycheck to paycheck but when my mother remarried, we shifted into an expat middle class family household. My sibling was born into this household and their relationship with money is so vastly different from mine. I am still cautious about how much I spend and tend to stick with generic brands. I have a monthly budget I stick to.  My sibling on the other hand has no qualms about spending more on posher brands or choosing a more convenient option even if it costs more. I see this the most when we travel together and it always causes disagreements because they lack that experience and fear of financial insecurity that I spent a good part of my childhood growing up with.

I don't think you need to worry. You sometimes go out to eat or having a coffee. Choosing an affordable option is never wrong. Expensive places (American) are usually not better, quite the opposite. So keep doing what you're doing. If you live frugally, but not stingily, you can then afford to treat yourself to something a little more luxurious when you want.
