The biggest difference is that the West and China are interdependent. India is unilaterally dependent on China, but India does not know its situation and thinks that India is strong.

India is doing business with China because of the transportation and product cost factor.
For example: None of the Chinese car makers operate in india but still india has got a good and cost effective EV car market .
Even in the Telecommunication sector... india has got its own 5G network spectrum and is going to build the 6G also without any help from China or Huawei company.

India will represent itself as a 2nd option to the world customer.
Just take the example of Africa: India and China both export it's Motorcycle.
And try to Google out who has got good market coverage.
Recently in Europe ,China has launched its first EV bike named NAXEON.
Just after that an India company named ULTRAVIOLET launched its F77 model with more cost effective price than Chinese one.

Now the government keeps saying defense exports have gone up. That might be good for the economy, but it doesn't solve our defense problem. Exporting more weapons doesn't mean our military is better prepared. You don't defend a country with press releases. You defend it with real combat strength. which we're clearly losing.
This government talks big on national security, but when it comes to action, they've fallen short. We needed proper planning and serious investment in the Air Force. Instead, we got speeches and headlines.

Most of the factory owners in medium to high category are not focused on training and technology infusion. All the commerce & business associations have failed to ask or motivate the government for better infrastructure in the industrial zones. Businessmen always blame the lack of trained manpower, but when it comes to paying the better manpower they will choose someone who is less skilled and is asking less salary. this is the reason we are facing such issues. Also businessmen are a reason for creating a societal divide. I have seen in the factories, no one will hire certain religious or certain Caste people in managerial roles.
