I didn't know China made people pay for healthcare I'm shook I had no idea that's terrible. My grandpa was in hospital for 15 months last year in Ontario Canada and we were complaining like mad because the paid parking was very expensive other than that we paid nothing
@raeraeella6426
I am so glad our taxes pay for our healthcare. You have a very beautiful baby boy
@christinec7892
What do people who can’t pay up front get? That’s crazy that ERs expect payment up front. Even the US doesn’t do that
@ConnieWong-xu4kk
The last time I gave birth was in 1995. I was in a private room (4 nights), with an epidural, and it was a regular birth. The final bill was $28,000.
@ValarieMadueno-e9d
I'm in CA and lucky to have pretty great insurance. The total for my kids was around 1.5k.
@santanawilliams5945
I had a twin pregnancy and was charged separately for “fetus A” and “fetus B” on each ultrasound. And because twins are high risk, I had to have more ultrasounds than a normal pregnancy.
@vernaxxx8940
$1000 is not bad. There's allegedly free health care in my country but as a taxpayer i paid an annual levy which was a couple of thousand dollars towards health care which i hardly used.
@FoodieBrit
That bill would have been well into 5 figures if they were in US.
@Pinkorchid251985
I had accute kidney failure earlier this year I was in the hospital for 6 weeks had 3 surgeries. I was on so many drugs had blood draws several times a day. I thankfully live in Canada. I gave coffee money to my nurses psw's doctors and other staff on my floor.
@mamad5686
I was diagnosed with Leukemia and had to be hospitalized to start chemo. 7 weeks of stay cost $900,000 in the US.
@xo_kinny
Australia = free, and yes of course if you have private health insurance and you want a private room etc etc etc, you pay
@SandiByrd
I live in Canada and my neighbors moved here from India while expecting. I was so amazed that a new Mom would have such courage to do such a thing....I was a nervous wreck just giving birth in my home city lol.
@palo1722
In US, I went to ER found out I had an ear infection. Few weeks later I got a bill for $3500 that's with insurance. I had to beg the hospital to discount it and finally paid $1700
@tinafurler8279
Your so brave to do this outside the us congratulations on your baby .
@tahjanjoki2940
Here Finland i think i payed like meaby 25e like one apointment cost in hospital,health care "free" almost us .I feel horrified of peoples hafty pay thousands of having child
@bonniebehling5227
I spent $1100 in 2010 for 10 days in 2 hospitals, 1 in Zhengzhou and 1 in Guangzhou with my newly-adopted 8 month old. She had a heart defect, pneumonia, and needed a bunch of treatments, oxygen, feeding tube, etc. We got her stable enough to fly home to the U.S, thankfully. In contrast, our 3 hr stay in the ER at Stanford upon arrival to the U.S was $56000. We were admitted, stayed 31 days, 2 heart surgeries, etc... that bill was 7 figures. She is a healthy 15 y/o now.

9000rmb equal 1~2 month average salary of a Chinese man.

In Iraq there are 2 options 1st one costs around 20-30 $ and the 2nd is the private one and it costs from 1200$ up to 3000$ depends on a lot of stuff
And congratulations and wishing you and the baby good health
@amandasamson4513
wow. that's not bad compared to the United States. Canada is free , but not nearly as much extra care or vip room.
@angelmagickcosplay4162
We don't pay anything unless we choose to go to a private hospital, but that seems like barely anything compared to the average costs related to women who've had kids in the states gotta know how the food was though, cause our hospital food is often vile to taste
@MrDragos360
Giving birth should not be covered by insurance. It is not a health issue, it is a personal choice. When someone makes that choice they must be held accountable for it until the end and not expect to others to support them.
If someone can't afford giving birth and having a child they should not have a child. The world will be a better place if people will think like this
@josieyearall7498
Shows how lucky we are having the NHS this is why it needs investment it's the best thing we have in the UK.
这正说明我们有多幸运拥有NHS(英国国家医疗服务体系)!
@cottonbomb8272
You can actually get a private insurance health care, but even without any, the price is still just fine.
@SirianStarPrincess
I live in the US and paid zero dollars for a 20k birth due to my daughter going to the NICU. The VA contracted me to a civilian hospital.
@adelaidekilpatrick7382
Here in NZ it’s free to have a baby and health care is free until you turn 13 then parents pay for appointments which are cheap and free dental care until 18
@LucieDominikMusic
I'm from Uruguay it costs 0 dollars to give birth in the public hospital and some provide epidural for free
@jlongino51823
Congratulations! My emergency high risk birth and stay for us (plus NICU for 7 days) was over $76,000. Thank God the hospital was a tax write off type. I got a bill for $0. Thank God!
@oliphaniakush6554
Dude, in the U.S., even with insurance, you still gotta pay around $6k.
@brytneybrewer2131
Cost me 80,000 to give birth here in Indianapolis Indiana. Unexpectedly was admitted to the hospital due to my heart going afib. Hospital stay was eight days I was induced on the second day hooked to an EKG machine blood drawn every 2 to 3 hours every day. Most of the cost was due to bloodwork in cardiology.
@TheManekicat
I wish lol I'm pregnant with insurance and to just walk into the office this week costed me $1000, that's not including the cost of the ultra sound or blood work.
@AllieinSK
Completely free in the UK. The idea of paying for any of this is wild
@MaiyinLikesMusic
Dane here, I was in the hospital for 4 days, after my daughter was born.. I am so grateful for the national health insurance, and that I didn't pay anything
@davidmcquaid8677
Here in Ireland you don’t have to pay to give birth/ which is very good for people who may not be able to afford to pay ❤
@k.green94
Health care should not cost you personally. This is why we pay taxes. Insane.
@sawaalbino
In Malaysia, if u r married to a Malaysian, u'll get Malaysian price. For a Malaysian - if u had surgery + admitted to icu for a month, it's still cost less than $1000
@tatianarusmade336
@alans.4658
In the USA $1300 wouldn't cover the Tylenol
@Kelley7930
The prices in China are so much better than the U.S. when I gave birth to my last child he had to be flown out cause the hospital I delivered at was not equip to handle an infant that needed medical care beyond the basics and since he was a preemie and a c-section baby he had some issues breathing. They tried charging me for the helicopter flight even though I was ensured the bill was over 3,000 dollars and that was just for the flight to the other hospital
@dylanhunt4303
In Belgium, it cost 12 euros. Everything was covered by social insurance. 12 euros was the thermometer and dippers and a few other things we took home
@Avalissaplay
That's so weird to me you had to pay at all... In my country every pregnant woman has insurance from the country, so even if you don't have a job, the hospital won't charge you
@arieluv615
That’s it. I’m having all of my kids outside of America ✌
@Toxicoasis_
Scary to imagine having a life threatening emergency and being refused treatment unless giving $1100 :( this is why I can’t travel but I don’t know what’s worse - having to cough up the deposit and dying if I don’t have the money, or being in the US and being held responsible for crippling medical debt… I’m so curious about this! I wonder if there are other options for those who cannot pay the deposit such as a different hospital or legally agreeing to pay the bill by a later timefrx?
@Kbbap
China is the best country to live
@matthewmarsh9760
If I was American I would holiday in the UK for 6 months of the pregnancy while working from home
Then have the baby free of charge on the nhs
6 months of costs to live here for a while is cheaper than that US bill
@MrJimheeren
So what we learn is that it’s cheaper for an American woman to fly to China, get your child there, stay for a couple of weeks and then fly back
@TheNerdistheWord
With insurance we paid our max out of pocket of 6k but we save in our HSA monthly because our monthly cost of insurance is very cheap so we just paid with our savings and never had any medical debt.
@soulsisterwillis
Congratulations on the new baby. I feel sorry for anyone who doesn’t have insurance or the money upfront to pay. Does that mean they won’t receive any treatment? I was a young mom and low income. I had insurance, but even if I didn’t if I went into the hospital especially the ER in labor they would still have treated me and delivered my son. I just would have been billed and given time to pay…
@RisingsStar1991
That’s not bad. I HAVE insurance and it cost me $9800 to have my son through emergency c-section.
@MrHarleyreinke
Cost way wife and I $200 in the states. I guess everybody's saying America has horrible health care just doesn't have good insurance
@neverregret7054
Soo glad for the public health in my country it cost 0€ never pay for anything health related❤
@thebbsfly5019
Average cost in the US WITHOUT A C SECTION is about $20,000
@Sam_maruti
In india it's free in govt hospitals except u need to distribute sweets worth 2 dollars which is optional
@kyaramonique420
Momma of 3 here. I definitely recommend having at least 12-15 bottles to start off! If you’re not breast feeding you’re going to go thru about 8-10 bottles a day. Also paper towels can leave little debris behind so you going to want to allow time to fully dry and not hand drying with paper towels
@RenRenRan
Can anyone explain the insurance thing to me?? Like, because she's not a Chinese citizen, her husband and her can't share insurance?
@TheJosline00
You may see some Chinese wear "formal" pyjamas sets on the street in the morning mainly to buy breakfast. They're usually married women who have a lot of housework to finish when they get home.
@Ari-yz3fy
It cost me 20k for a hospital visit just for me to get told I got kidney stones.
They did other test (aka pregnancy test even tho I told the doctor I don’t even like men that much lol) and a different one I don’t remember the name.
I understand paying for the meds, the IV and the doctor. But like…
I was also billed for those bags that holds vomit.. I keep throwing up a lot and I almost past out 4 times. When we got home my mom stay next to me until I fell asleep rubbing my stomach. Then when I woke up I threw up again.
Luciky when I got hives from an allergic reaction (idk to what) my mom got me insurance. We never found out what it was. And taking allergy meds, cream and bathing in oats help with the itching but it took almost 2 weeks for the hives to leave.
@vertikultursg8532
Damn, deliveries here in third world country (in Asia) cost me close to USD 4000 and it's not even a private room but a shared room with one other mother
@itssaavibe
That’s insane, for one visit to my obgyn for the prenatal ultrasound or whatever they’re called they billed it for FIVE THOUSANDish DOLLARS and that wouldn’t include like a pap or any other tests , like wtf I’m in my early 20s and can barely work since I’ve been pregnant , first timer too I was shocked and just couldn’t believe the robbery
@Ellron23
REMINDER AVERAGE YEARLY INCOME IN wuhan IS BETWEEN 15,182.41 TO 30,000USD.
It all sounds cheap til you realize most there are making very little money. Just like any third world country
@jeanettegehl-harrison7628
I paid that amount for my son in the US 54 years ago. Of course my pay was also less than $5/hr at a factory job.
@helenmcrae3537
$0 in Australia. I stayed for a week and my son spent most that time in NICU after the epidural and emergency c-section
@Anne-wm7ms
God bless SUS (our heath care sistem, in Brazil), we dont pay to delivery a baby. It's free (it deduct from taxes). I love Brazil.
感谢上帝保佑巴西的 SUS(统一医疗系统)!
@KFarms22
It cost me $60 in TX with military insurance. I got to choose my hospital and doctor so it was a good experience all around thankfully.
It’s strange to me that they require payment upfront and also that you don’t know what shots you got
@shamsasaid5
While in my country is totally free exept if you take a private room you will pay only for it which cost about 50 usd a day
@solagratia8573
We need Healthcare reform badly in the US!!
@rachelcookson3492
It cost us nothing in Australia, I had a private room and stayed 4 nights.
@Muchacha2024
I paid way more than that WITH insurance in the US.
@weeniehutjr9977
paying upfront before receiving treatment is WILD
@ssterling8428
4 days in hospital in france. Room and bathroom all for ourselves with a sofa bed for hubby. Briliant care, paid for nothing. Our social healthcare insurance here is very good.
@colamelody3210
NHS sometimes is good, but in some cases, u need 2 to 3 weeks to complete a required check and that's faint
@lovmi2byz91
My oldest was born: 64 hour labor with complications (fractured pelvis, dislocated hip, 100+ stitches for a near 4th degree tear plus pitocin because i was bleeding out). Plus 3 days postpartum unit. He was in NICU for 10 days due to jaundice and feeding problems and because i Had GD. They got me a room where NICU moms who were nursing, and whose babies were expected to be out of NICU in a month or less, stayed (upstairs on the PICU floor).
So a total of 15 days.
Cost? $89k
Thankfully i was AD Army so Tricare paid for it i only looked outta curiosity.
产程64小时,骨盆骨折、髋关节脱位、会阴近四度撕裂缝了100多针,还因大出血用了催产素;
产后住院3天;
宝宝因妊娠糖尿病导致黄疸和喂养困难,在NICU住了10天;
@_b_lur
Dn thats actually insane an ambulance trip that only lasted an hour with me just laying on the stretcher, not using anything in the ambulance wouldve costed us over 4000 with insurance
My mom was able to talk to the people about it and considering i didnt use anything and it was a pretty short trip we ended up not having to pay but that bill wouldve put us in a pretty shitty spot
@JoshuaSmith-q8d
The reason the us is so backwards is because the insurance and medical industries are in cahoots with each other
@KameoKit6963
Congratulations! And yeah living in wuhan with your husband and his family, at least financially was a GOOD choice. I'm sure a good choice for you and your family overall too!
@shannonflynn9420
Here I was thinking the room charge didn’t include all the services which would cost thousands more
@mykah2002
I had an insurance issue and my son had jaundice and we were hospitalized for 5 days. My flat bill without any insurance was around 55k. I was only 17 when I have birth. Thank goodness the state picked it up and I ended up only having to pay $1500 because I would’ve declared bankruptcy exactly on my 18th bday
@pbj0815
I passed out at work due to low blood pressure and since no one knew about my condition they thought I was dying and called an ambulance. My bill was $15k for the ride to the hospital and one bag of fluids. I hate the US.
@taylorflegel9677
I live in canada, never payed for appointments, ultrasound, labor, emergency csection, 1 baby spent a month in the nicu, cleft pallet surgery, yearly heart ultrasounds, literally nothing
@LexiB3805
With insurance just to get a fetal echo at a pediatric cardiologist I have to pay $1025 just for that visit… it’s crazy

Gave birth in Norway twice, which is a social democracy, and it costs 0$ to give birth.
@mancavestudios8955
While it is still very, very bad that one has to pay upfront to be treated by the ER, at least it's cheap. The US is better on this as far as requiring ER's to treat patients no matter what.
@curiouspeople6441
It would cost $50,000 USD in California with no healthcare
@ginaparker211
Depending on the type of office visit, thats around an office visit here in the US.
@gingerheadedbrowskin_798
Wow that’s amazing, an ambulance ride alone was $2,000 for me earlier this year maybe I should move to China

4 nights at 1000 really a great price. I stayed 2 nights in Chinese hospital after small procedure for 1000 but still much cheaper than in US as my deductible is $8000 in USA

4 days? Wow! I showed up at midnight, had my son, and was going home by 2pm - and that was only because my son was refusing to participate in the hearing tests. He was fine, just stubborn.
@YasuTaniina
That's more then I paid for any of my 3 births in 2 states in the US , but we di have decent insurance ♀️
@jackiegarcia1893
This is soooo cheap it's literally like 30000 to 40000 to have a baby in USA plus some! Just shows the system is screwed up here.
@KDeanie
$75 a night!! That’s what they charged me for a Motrin in postpartum care
@amb5069
Those are FAIR rates... it makes me TRUST much more the quality of care since drs and hospitals are not mainly focused on money.
