People do not realize that Nuclear fallout is not as lethal to people that live outdoors. So people that live primarily indoors would be highly affected. Particularly bad if you decided to live in a bunker.

@zombi3lif3 As to the point your trying to make, excluding facts distorts the reality. The entirety of history, not only of Ukraine but of the US and it’s allies is relevant. When there is no accountability, all treaties broken, failed diplomacy, etc…there hasn’t been justice. Without justice there will never be peace. I encourage you to really dig deep into history and try to understand the happenings of the world from mid 1800’s up to what led to WWI. This section of history is most relevant in shaping our world and today’s conflicts.

When I read this headlines Balance of Power comes to mind. It's a very old Cold War simulator, in which you play as one of the superpowers and try to win by instigating crises and trying to beat the other through always risky brinkmanship. If you overplay your hand and trigger a nuclear war, you get a black screen that says: "You have ignited a nuclear war. And no, there is no animated display of a mushroom cloud with parts of bodies flying through the air. We don't reward failure". These are dark times, when videogames are more reasonable than the politicians that rule over us.

This tragedy of an unnecessary war in Ukraine was an commercial effort to clear weapons stocks and create a massive demand for reorders. Congress is completely owned by these companies. It is a grift perpetrated by an industry that generates profits from death and destruction.
To compound the danger is the fact that people think that this all just a movie.

This does not require much analysis a salted nuke in an agricultural hub would result in famine and soil remaining fatally radioactive for a few hundred years. All plants grown on such soil would be poison due to radiation in said soil. This would be done on purpose as it would force the opposition to rely on agricultural imports which would thus be susceptable to an embargo. If the country in question is an agricultural exporter this would result also in famines or substantially higher food prices for countries which rely on such imports.
The idea of a nuclear winter has been debunked ;however, Tsar Bomba was 50 MT. This was the largest nuke with most nukes having a much smaller payload. For comparisom a 0.3KM asteroid would have 350MT impact. A large volcanic eruption can have 100 MT to 1000 MT yield which again is much more than a typical nuke. A nuke would be therefore comparable to a moderate volcanic eruption in terms of geologic impacts. Nukes also have other effects such as EMP which can cover a large area if high in the atmosphere.
Nukes are not scary because of nuclear winter. They are scary because they are aimed at major population centers as strategic weapon and there is fallout especially with dirty or salted nukes. And furthermore there are economic impacts as whole financial centers and trade hubs could be gone one the order of minutes. The worst part would be living fallout and resulting sickness or higher prence if it and diminished life.
The scenario of all nukes from both sides being used is false. As in a nuclear war both sides would be trying to take out each others nuclear capabilities while delivering a decisive blow via their own nukes. Thus all nukes would most certainly not be fired , some would be intercepted, and some would not need to be fired after one side obtains a strategic advantage.
