China is the largest exporter to literally most nations around the world & they aren't going to restrict such exports since they still want to remain a major manufacturer & like money. But all of those are general electronic or finished product exports or something that isn't of strategic value.
They certainly have restricted critical minerals, equipments like TBMs & also have prevented their staff from coming to guide engineers here & all of it is widely reported.
Basically, they want us to be dependent on them for everything while lacking in our own systems.
US will also be willing to do the same & also have been pushing for as such in defense systems.

I'm just a part of the supply chain, supplier to big ODM/OEMs like Pegatron. What I found is that doing business with Indian is extremely risky. Once I tried to sell to an indian company, I accepted O/T, after the cargo arrived they first said they haven't received it. And then they said the products didn't meet the standard, but they wouldn't return it. And the custom is also corrupted as hell. Maybe it's only an exceptional case but after that I would have to think twice before doing any trade with Indian companies.

China is absolutely doing a lot of things to restrict India. They export so much to India and have made India reliant on them for many crucial products, China restricts the really important components and machinery, so India cannot produce the end products themselves.
Ever heard the saying "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
China is doing something similar, except they are not giving the fish, they are selling the fish. They would not teach or sell the really crucial machinery like mineral extractors and refiners to be in India, so that India could not create the end products themselves.

Eh, they may think this, and want to act on it or something, but the world will continue to be multi-polar, and India will keep growing too.
We just need to embrace open free libertarian policies , good fiscal discipline and develop capital markets and we will get there. The government’s gotta push through good, strong reforms and as long as we can grow up to 7% real gdp the next 10-15 years, we should become more and more economically viable.
Only issue here that India is extremely challenging country to implement reforms, and this entire idiotic hindutva type streak is a death knell for any cultural change towards scientific enquiry.
Anyway, I am still hopeful.
