I would invest in 10000 + Drones for a single aircraft and its still better on the realistic battlefield situations then wasting on a single piece of aircraft that is still not battle ready or in the process of the futuristic war capabilities.

Under the present sceanrio IAF should go for 2 to 3 squadrons of the F-35 and concurrently develop the AMCA 5th generation combat aircraft. If AMCA is going slow leap frog to 6th generation development with a foreign collaborator too. Also put the 114 fighter acquisition on top priority now with some announcement by this winter of 2025. If not 114 then at least some 70 plus Rafales.

If we can concentrate on AMCA wholeheartedly, we can deliver in as much time. Having many types of aircraft complicated inventories with multiple eco systems and raised costs to triple. We must have our own so that we are not let down in war and fighter losses are easily replaced.love.
