American private equity billionaires understand late-stage capitalism. They are just trying to extract the maximum profit from the economy, before the whole house of cards collapses. All their mergers and acquisitions have led to just a few massive corporations controlling most of the well-known, iconic brands.
The current business model is to play on this 'brand loyalty' myth, by gouging as much as humanly possible, before shuttering the factories, laying off their workers, declaring bankruptcy, and walking away with fat severance packages and pensions.
   Rinse and repeat.

@cjorgie1
Harley Davidson is a clothing company that also makes motorcycles.. They’ve been living off the nostalgia of older generations and that’s rapidly changing

@carbonunit6573
 @cjorgie1 my brother asked me to get him a Harley t shirt when I was in California. It was so unbelievably overpriced I felt embarrassed when I was paying for it. I almost felt like the cashier was dumbfounded anyone could be that stupid.

@biopsiesbeanieboos55
 @cjorgie1 worldwide, wealthy western consumers have been gradually and seemingly without exception…smoking less, ridding motorbikes less, joining the military less, having less children, having less savings in the bank.  The only things that have consistently grown is our hours spent working, our retirement age, our body weight and the ratio of renters to buyers of housing.  This is true across every demographic.  Every luxury/boutique brand, knows that the masses are slowly becoming poorer in both money and time.  Any future profits are only going to come from the wealthy end of the population, so they are deliberately pivoting away from the middle class.  They are basically doing the opposite of what Henry Ford did.

@sportsonwheelss
@biopsiesbeanieboos55 imagine parts that have been charging for the department of war.  Make Harley part dirt cheap.  Every thing have been shrinking, but the budget for department of war.

@WHJeffB
@biopsiesbeanieboos55 I don't think you're wrong in this...  I think the future, especially with AI is going to resemble some dystopian Sci-Fi flick with large masses of the human population, dirt poor and scratching out a minimal existence.  A very small percentage of the world population is going to be wealthy, to insanely wealthy and leave everyone else behind.  Think Elysium with Matt Damon as one example.

@rotorheadv8
It’s Harley. They screw their customers over all the the time.

@elijah3807
 @rotorheadv8 it isn't just Harley tho. It's a single example of a very large problem.

@ronfox5519
Private equity is for sure parasitic and corrosive in the worst way, but they are as much a symptom as a they are a cause. This channel does as good a job as any demonstrating that the problem is much broader and deeper than just Pirate Equity.

@SST11B
Yeah, the biggest criminals will never do time.

@DD-vf9ow
@SST11B We can make them do time if we stand up like Americans can!!

@kurtb3228
@DD-vf9ow that's why us people, the people the "bill of rights" and "Constitution" was written for need to fight back. It can be as easy as not buying from their "stores" or not watching their TV channels. They need us more than we need them, without our hard earned worthless dollars, they don't prosper.

@SST11B
@DD-vf9ow Noble, but a fruitless effort against resources like the "they" have. Cheers!

@Bob_Adkins
@SST11B  People that overpay for simple parts are the criminals... they make prices higher for everyone.

@kurtb3228
@Bob_Adkins that's when we end up buying Chinese junk for the "price" them find out it doesn't fit correctly or not at all. It's a real circle jerk we've been placed in.

@Bob_Adkins
@kurtb3228  When someone tries to sell me something at an outrageous price, I hurl insults and leave. If everyone did, suppliers would work harder to get prices down. Harley prices are the result when people overspend because of vanity or brand-loyalty. Many of us are trying to bring manufacturing back to the USA to prevent buying everything from China, others are fighting us. The ones fighting us don't know what a bushing is.

@tonyb3426
@kurtb3228  The problem with that scenario is that many of the foreign companies are starting more and more to actually make Precision high quality parts and tools, just sold for much less than the ridiculously high prices that the US Companies ( any that are corrupt) are gouging them for. The perception of "Chinese parts means low quality" has been steadily changing. More people are starting to realize that most of the American Companies that have high quality parts, are actually getting those high quality parts made for them, in China and other countries. The problem is just figuring out which sellers have the high quality low priced foreign part and which ones are still selling low quality garbage. Once more people find the good sellers, the US companies will lose their ability to rip off their customers or lose their customers all together. That's part of what the original comment was getting at. The US Companies rampant  unchecked greed has already started to crash their companies, because they have price gouged to a level that the majority of people can no longer afford to pay. But, their CEOs don't care about their own companies or about their Country, they intend to just keep raising their prices and their own paychecks until the companies or the Country collapses, ripping of as many people as they can to enrich themselves while they can, and then move on to another destructive scheme, like a parasite. Or, just sit comfortably for the rest of their lives (in another country, if they have collapsed their own. Because they can afford that) with the millions or billions of dollars that they have gouged from their own employees and their customers. It's baffling that there are laws against price gouging, to protect the citizens, but they are rarely enforced. Mostly because the price gougers can afford to donate massive amounts of money to campaigns, or just out right bribe the politicians and City officials who are so blinded by their own greed that they don't even pay attention to the destruction that they are causing to their own Cities, States, or their Country, and to the future of their own children, because all they are focusing on is what they themselves gain by ignoring the laws that they have sworn an oath to enforce. There has always been greed in companies that lead them to charge more than necessary. But, they used to try to make it subtle. They have reached a place now where they are no longer trying to hide the price gouging, because they believe they are too rich to ever be held accountable. Sadly, because there are so few Officials who have integrity, they are being allowed to get away with it temporarily, Until the day they all stand before God on the day of judgement, and they realize too late that got away with absolutely nothing. Be loyal, only to those companies who have been proven to be honest and reasonable. To the companies who treat their customers like they value their customers and believe their customers' lives matter. The companies can only keep ripping people off, if there are enough people continuing to pay them for ripping them off. When enough people stop paying them for their price gouging, they either have to make their prices more reasonable, or they go out of business. We all need to Help each other find, better, more honest, alternative companies. When you find one, spread the word. Don't let us only complain about the Bad companies, but also spread the word about any Good Honest companies that we find. To help each other, and to Reward the Companies that use Integrity and Honesty instead of greed. If there are any US Companies that still have integrity, Reward them too. Because this Country needs more of them, to survive as a Country.

@SST11B
@Bob_Adkins Don't disagree with you, but if you need it, and there's not many options, and the options are market researched to price compare with their peer products... Shit, the genie is already out of the bottle before you get to the store or the site. Cheers!

@SST11B
@Bob_Adkins your last sentence is the sad truth but a funny observation, cheers!

@StevenRogers-hw9dj
 @SST11B  What crimes are being committed? No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy anything.

@SST11B
@StevenRogers-hw9dj  More of a metaphorical kind of "criminal", though one profiting through causation of negative downstream tangible and derivative effects for the regular American consumer.

@StevenRogers-hw9dj
 @SST11B  Spoken like a true Marxist. Tell us all about your utopian economic system, we can use the laugh.

@SST11B
@StevenRogers-hw9dj you couldn't possibly be further from the mark with your response, good luck friend, cheers.

@StevenRogers-hw9dj
 @SST11B  I'm not your friend, clod. I have standards, such as not lying, unlike you.

@SST11B
@StevenRogers-hw9dj agreed, we are not friends, because bots don't have friends.

@StevenRogers-hw9dj
 @SST11B  You're clearly not a bot, clod. They're quite a bit brighter than you.

Loyalty only goes to one group- the shareholders.

@user-is1hd4nj4b
Plot a graph of HD’s stock price over the last 5 - 10 years. They aren’t even doing the stock holders any favors. The only people really doing well are the C suite management.  Artie Starrs is HD’s new CEO. He’s probably on track to make about $9M all in total compensation this year. The prior CEO was Jochen Zeitz. He made about $9M as well in his last year as CEO in 2024 in spite of company revenue declining about 11%.
You look at a lot of these companies and pretty much everyone is getting screwed. The customers. The shareholders. Everyone but C level management. They are definitely taking care of themselves.

@PassivePortfolios
Actually the CEO, his executives and the boards of directors are the top feeders.

@brentoncarter4275
 @PassivePortfolios  those people are shareholders dum dum

@jeffrme
 @brentoncarter4275 why do you call him Dum Dum? You said Shareholders. Shareholders get their dividends after the books are zeroed out! The other gentleman was correct in his statements of them being the top feeders. You owe him an apology!

@Jaderian87
 @jeffrme .  The CEO and board of directors are shareholders period. Learn how a corporation works. CEOs are always paid in stocks and shares. It’s part of their total compensation. And the board of directors are literally just the people that have the shares.

@nunyabidniz2868
Don't kid yourself: the shareholders are getting ripped off as well; the C-suite in these companies is loyal only to themselves!

@WhittyPics
Mostly the CEOs at the top

@edisonvelezbarbosa3686
That are ruining America.

@brentoncarter4275
Isn’t capitalism wonderful?!

@stevehughes2133
Under the corporate model that has to be the way, sad but true, corporations are inherently evil.

@valerianschneider5084
i wouldent even call that loyalty, its a necessity, because the shareholders have them by the b...., well where it hurts.
the system: all shareholders want maximum profit, forcing companies to maximize profits and scr..... everyone over. including you, the shareholder. sort of, you are your own slaver, if you take part. and sadly, are off even worse, if you dont participate.

@Andulvar
Actually they don't even have to listen to the majority of those. There are certain classes for shareholders. One they listen to and the other they don't

@lolkthnxbai
You'd think that but Tesla says otherwise, all loyalty to one man. Absolutely insane how shareholders can vote to screw themselves.

@harmorehorń
Dodge v. Ford, 1919, landmark case, yes - it established shareholder priority

@TBell4x
@harmorehorń  was looking for the SCOTUS comment. Glad to see someone knows. Gov sucks.

@jamesbosworth4191
Ford wanted to give money back to his employees, but the Dodge Brothers wanted it all to go to the shareholders.  Unfortunately, the Dodges won, but corporations still didn't push too hard, they were afraid of public outrage, until Milton Friedman adamantly stated that Maximum Shareholder Value is all a corporation needs to care about.  That gave them the green light to destroy the country if it will boost share prices.  Attitudes like that are one of the reasons that Socialism seems so attractive to the young college students - Capitalism seems like it is against them.  Want them to embrace Capitalism and reject Socialism?  Then we MUST end Reaganism.

@brucehelppie6119
 @jamesbosworth4191  it's attractive to old people like me who are sick of corporate greed and psychopathic ceos.

@jamesbosworth4191
 @brucehelppie6119  Very true.  What the capitalists refuse to understand is that people who have nothing, and no hope to ever have anything, are willing to try it because they have nothing to lose - you can't lose what you don't have.

Hey, them private yachts ain't fueling themselves.

@Koda-p5e
That's a good point. He obviously didn't think about that.

@MindBodySoulOk
I now live on a sailboat so I'm in tune with the boating world and there is such an incredible divide on this planet wealth wise.  The number of  yachts I see that require a crew is blowing my mind. The maintenance costs are mind boggling. I just don't get where all this money is coming from.

Those private yachts are owned by woke billionaires like Oprah, Bezos, Tom Hanks, Jay-Z, Beyonce, etc, etc.
But you guys keep blaming capitalism and the American right.
Harley went Woke a long time ago.
All of those billionaires are champagne socialists, not capitalists.
