Ukranians should take note that India always has a axe to graind with Ukraine because Ukraine was one of those countries that vehemently opposed India's nuclear tests in 1998 and had condemned India's actions at the security council.
The relations between Kyiv and New Delhi were downturned after Ukraine signed a big contract to supply tanks to Pakistan in 1996. In fact, this was not the only decision that cooled down Ukraine-India relations at that period. Thanks for elucidating on one of the reasons Mao made the decision to give India concessions even after winning the border conflict. It was also the doing of the Russian Federation that India became a part of (proto)BRICS as a counter balance to the dominance of China in their partnership with Russia, China as retaliation added South Africa(a failed state) to act as its own counter to India's membership; if Russia didn't act like this, the organization between Russia, Brazil and China would have less in-built problems that threaten to potentially break apart BRICS, it was right for China not to get too involved in Ukraine, China should use Russia as much as it can for its own geopolitical interests as payback for Russia's madness, China should keep India at arm's length and never fully trust India/Bharat.
