This lady knows Arabic + Chinese... Final boss for any language learning!

这位女士会阿拉伯语和中文,简直是语言学习界的终极Boss!

@khalidgamea-j7b
exactly, even though I love learning languages and arabic is My mother tongue but I don't think Chinese will be a picnic for me.

没错,尽管我热爱学习语言,而且阿拉伯语是我的母语,但我并不觉得学习中文对我来说会是件轻松的事。

@アッマー
 @khalidgamea-j7b , i am a Pakistani and learning Arabic is not that much a thing but still it's, anyway i am currently learning JAPANESE language, so maybe mandrain(Chinese language) will be easy for me in future, LOL!!

我是巴基斯坦人,学阿拉伯语对我来说不算什么难事,但即便如此,它还是有一定难度的。不过我现在正在学日语,所以也许将来学普通话(中文)会容易一些吧,哈哈!

@AmnaAli-k1r
“Arabic: the Grammar ocean “ is sooo true

“阿拉伯语:语法的海洋”这句话真是太对了

@NAT-w8c
Even us arabs suffer in it at school

就连我们阿拉伯人上学时也深受其苦。

@Alrefady
Even as an Arab I failed grammar class

即使身为阿拉伯人,我的语法课还是挂了。

@henokabraha250
For me the easiest way to learn standard Arabic, you have to watch cartoon a lot.
If you want to learn different dialect Arabic, better to watch Arabic film or movie, whether Netflix or YouTube with subtitles in order to understand well.

对我来说,学习标准阿拉伯语最简单的方法就是多看动画片。
如果你想学习不同的阿拉伯语方言,最好看阿拉伯电影或电视剧,无论是 Netflix 还是 YouTube,最好有字幕以便更好地理解。

@sigma682
Most Americans would fail an English Grammar class

大多数美国人,如果上英语语法课也会不及格。

@eduardovaldivia1064
She's made a convincing argument, I am going to learn Chinese Mandarin

她提出了令人信服的论点,我打算学习普通话

@Chimnonsooo
You speak both Mandarin and Arabic? You deserve all the respect in the world omgggg

你既会普通话又会阿拉伯语?你值得全世界的尊重。

@xilici
She knows Arabic. She knows Mandarin — two of the hardest languages on the planet

她会阿拉伯语,也会普通话,这两种语言可都是地球上最难的语言之一。

@AdamRaouf-r5k8w
Even we native arabic speaking struggle at learning arabic grammar

即使是母语为阿拉伯语的人,在学习阿拉伯语语法时也会感到困难

@gooner-786
Brilliant comparison. No emotion or bias - just fair facts from a lover of language and genuine student of both Chinese and Arabic.

这个对比太精彩了。不带任何情绪与偏见,完全是出自一位语言爱好者、一位真正深耕汉语与阿拉伯语的学习者的客观事实之谈。

@m6.ziz03
Grammar in Arabic is even hard for natives
We need years to learn it ..
actually the hardest subject we learn in school is Arabic ( i am Egyptian)

就连母语使用者都觉得阿拉伯语语法难到哭。

我们得花好几年才能把它学好……说实话,

我们在学校里学的最难的科目就是阿拉伯语(我是埃及人)

@enaxtry
It's same with czech language actually, we have czech 9 years every day in elementary just to learn grammar

捷克语其实也是如此,我们上小学时,每天都要上捷克语课,而且一学就是九年,可到头来也只是在啃语法而已。

@ibtissempharm8800
It really depends on the level of proficiency you wanna reach, grasping the basics and relatively making no mistakes reading a text with no vowels is easy, at some point you can get it right automatically without necessarily grasping the grammar rules behind it. But for sure we are very very very lacking compared to the generations from a thousand years ago, even lil kids back then could come up with poetry that would leave our university teachers agape.

这其实取决于你想要达到的语言熟练程度。掌握基础内容,并且能较为准确地朗读无元音标注的文本,其实并不难。

在某种程度上,你甚至可以不用刻意去弄懂背后的语法规则,就能自然而然地做到这一点。但毫无疑问,和千年前的先辈们相比,我们的语言功底实在差得太远了。

哪怕是那时候的小孩子,都能吟出连如今大学教授都叹服的诗句。

@Han-rw9ev
So it's a choice between 4000 characters vs complicated grammar...

所以这就成了一道选择题:是攻克四千个汉字,还是啃下复杂的语法。

@lun3
As a native Arabic speaker I'd take the 4k characters, Arabic grammar hell nah it's insane I can't do it

作为阿拉伯语母语者,我宁愿去啃四千个汉字。阿拉伯语语法?算了吧,那简直不是人学的,我可顶不住。

@mng8680
 @HusXX
Its not just only memorizing 4000 characters, you also need to memorize the meaning of the different combination or compound words of the 4000 characters so in reality its more than that. Also most Chinese who go to school also need to learn old Chinese literature which uses a different grammar style and also some additional characters rarely used in modern Chinese. Also 4000 characters is just considered competant fluency level.  High level fluency matching native Chinese capable of reading old literature actually require knowing between 5000-8000 characters.

@merrick6484
4000 Chinese characters are just for grade 6 in primary school.

4000 个汉字只是小学六年级的水平。

One needs at least 8000 to operate in Chinese language.

要使用中文,至少需要掌握 8000 个词汇。

And Chinese grammer is another crazy shit on its own.

而中文语法本身又是一套疯狂的东西。

@lun3
 @merrick6484 it actually is not and I already learnt it few years ago at uni Mandarin grammar is the easiest part a language that doesn't have gender based rules it loses a lot of complexity

事实并非如此,我几年前就在大学里学过现代汉语语法了。

它其实是最容易的部分。一门没有性数格变化规则的语言,会省去很多复杂的门道。

@AvoidTheCadaver
Chinese grammar is easy. True mastery of the Chinese lexicon is not possible. There are well over 50, 000 characters in the full lexicon.
And in mandarin it's in simplified which makes it a bit easier.
When I studied Chinese for real, I studied traditional. The elegance of it was what appealed to me. Certainly wasn't because it was easy

汉语语法其实很简单,但想要真正精通汉语词汇,几乎是不可能的事。汉语的完整字库收录了五万多个汉字,数量相当庞大。

而普通话所用的是简体字,这会让学习难度降低一些。

我当初正经学汉语的时候,选的却是繁体字。吸引我的是它那份独特的韵味,显然不是因为它好学才去学的。

@SCARA_KAZUHA_COME_HOMEEEEEE
As an Arabian I can admit that the grammar are really hard because we have a lot of grammar to the point I don’t know how much and every grammar have it’s own rules depending on it’s place in the sentence and the if it was in the past, present, future or if it was Past, present, future, imperative and the word before it and a lot moreee of rules to each to the rules of grammar. It’s complicated but once you understand it, it will start to become easy

作为一名阿拉伯人,我得承认阿拉伯语语法确实很难。我们要学的语法内容多得数不清,而且每一条语法规则,

都会根据这个词在句子里的位置、时态(过去时、现在时、将来时)、语态(祈使语气),还有它前面的词语而变化。

每条语法规则之下,还衍生出一大堆细碎的条例。这门语言的语法虽然复杂,但只要你真正理解了,就会慢慢变得简单起来。

@OcToBeR
Your assessment is really spot on. Impressive, teacher.

你的评价实在太精准了。厉害啊,老师。

@m.firdanjuliansyah6903
As an Indonesian muslim, it way much easier for me to learn Arabic, one of the reasons is because of the need to pray in Islam. About the difference between Fusha and 'Amiyah of each Arab countries, learn Fusha first, then join a community with good practice of one kind of 'Amiyah, usually easy to find in Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. Mostly they speak Egyptian or Saudi Medina dialect, along with Fusha.

@慕宁-r7c
Hi, i came from the future to tell you Don't Choose Chinese.
I'm a native Arabic speaker i can get +A jn Arabic, but in Chinese?
I'm Leaterly crying just to get C, and its been 4 years

嗨,我是从未来穿回来提醒你的,千万别选汉语啊!
我母语是阿拉伯语,阿拉伯语成绩随便就能拿 A+,可汉语呢?我都学了四年了,拼死拼活才勉强考到 C,真的要哭了。

@hansbrick123
as someone who learn arabic, I prefer complicated grammar than unlimited characters

作为一名阿拉伯语学习者,比起浩如烟海的汉字,我更愿意攻克复杂的语法。

@friendlyanomaly6109
Chinese has two main challenges, the characters & recognizing the sounds of words and syllables. Both can be dealt with using brain dead learning by rote and sheer exposure, practice and memorialization and you can still find progress even if you are unintelligent. Arabic doesn't offer this freedom.

汉语的学习主要有两大难点:一是汉字的识记,二是字词读音与音节的辨识。这两项都可以靠机械的死记硬背、大量的接触练习和反复记忆来攻克。哪怕你不算天资聪颖,照样能在学习中看到进步。但阿拉伯语的学习,可没有这样的 “捷径”。

@mng8680
 @friendlyanomaly6109
Unintelligent people wont be able to memorize and recognize that many Chinese characters to begin with. You also need good attention to detail to not confuse very similar characters, for example 己 and 巳 are two very different words despite very small difference in writing stroke.
@friendlyanomaly6109

首先本身天资平平的人,就很难记住并辨认这么多汉字。你还需要拥有敏锐的细节观察力,才能避免混淆那些外形极为相似的字。比如 “己” 和 “巳”,二者的笔画差异微乎其微,但却是两个含义完全不同的字。

@friendlyanomaly6109
 @mng8680
@mng8680
That's jumping to conclusions of the limits and capabilities of unintelligent people. Some don't have what it takes but some do. It depends on the individual but some can pull it off despite a lack of intelligence, so my point still stands.

这未免太过武断,直接给天资平平者的能力上限和潜力下了定论。的确有些人难以胜任,但也有一部分人完全可以做到。这归根结底取决于个人情况。即便天资不算出众,仍有人能攻克难关。所以,我的观点依旧成立。

@mng8680
 @friendlyanomaly6109
Depends on your benchmark of unintelligent people, is it below 100 IQ, below 90IQ etc? Name me a well known unintelligent person you know who has mastery of 4000 Chinese characters,  your point doesnt stand unless theres a real example.
@friendlyanomaly6109

这得看你对 “天资平平者” 的衡量标准是什么,是指智商低于 100,还是低于 90?你倒是举一个公认天资平平、却能熟练掌握四千个汉字的名人例子出来。要是没有实打实的例证,你的观点根本站不住脚。

@DSAhmed
I studied both languages and what she said is  100% true.

我学习过这两种语言,她说的话 100%是真的。

@Dominikplaylists
I studied both too. The fact Chinese has no grammar makes it far easier. In Chinese you need to memorize a word and its spelling which makes it on par with English in terms of how many "bits" you need to memorize. But in arabic the grammatical forms of verbs and nouns  and dialects make the total amount of "bits" to memorize much higher. ** obviously China has hundreds of widely spoken dialects, which makes all of "Chinese" impossible to learn to any human, but there isn't barely anyone left who does not speak mandarin anymore.

@DSAhmed
 @Dominikplaylists  when so much literally sounds the same, and so much would be the same if not for a slight pitch shift and there are so few sounds that makes Chinese so much harder for me.  And no grammar? whatever.  There certainly is grammar.  There's a strict word order.

汉语里太多字词的发音听起来一模一样,只要声调稍有偏差,字词的意思就会截然不同。而且汉语的发音种类又少得可怜,

这几点让我学起汉语来难上加难。还说汉语没有语法?别扯了。汉语分明是有语法的,它有着一套严格的语序规则。

@1bria_
 @Dominikplaylists  I think the only hard thing in Chinese is memorizing words and type them and pitch sounds but they can be easy after listening much and depend on context.
@Dominikplaylists

我觉得汉语唯一的难点,就是记单词、写汉字和辨声调。不过只要多听、结合语境来学,这些难点也能变得容易起来。

@mabokmicin
 @1bria_ completely agree
@1bria_

完全同意

@chess_board_consumer
 @Dominikplaylists that's interesting i m intimidated by mandarin because i have little free time but your comment is encouraging. Do you have any tips on what resources i should be using to learn it?

挺有意思的。我一直有点不敢学普通话,毕竟没什么空闲时间,但你的话真的很鼓舞人心。你有没有什么学习资源方面的建议可以给我呀?

@SofiaKhan-n3s
I am currently learning Arabic as an English speaker. And when I tell you its hard. Its really hard.

我是一名以英语为母语的学习者,目前正在学阿拉伯语。跟你说吧,这门语言简直太难了,是真的难。

@زيادجمال-ل2ج
When my mom told me Arabic is the hardest language in the world I was shocked because i know it like the back of my hand! ( coming from an Egyptian person!! )

我妈妈跟我说阿拉伯语是全世界最难的语言时,我直接惊呆了,这门语言我可是熟得不能再熟了啊!(本人地道埃及人一枚!)

@perfectlyimperfectYuki
I'm also learning Arabic in my school and I'm an urdu speaker but it's still hard for me because I think the method my school uses for us to learn Arabic is not that effective , they just give us test and I'd we pass then good and then u just forget about everything u learned which Is not good and so I think they should improve I
This

我现在也在学校里学阿拉伯语,我的母语是乌尔都语。但这门语言对我来说依旧很难,因为我觉得学校的教学方法实在没什么效果。

老师们只会给我们安排考试,要是考及格了就万事大吉,可考完试后,我们之前学的内容也全都忘光了。

这显然不是什么好现象。所以我真心觉得,学校的教学方式应该改进一下。

@testmorita
I’m Japanese who learn Chinese and Arabic
For me,Arabic are too hard one
But recently I catch a little Arabic words
I wanna keep doing
thanks Zoe!

我是一名正在学习汉语和阿拉伯语的日本人。
对我来说,阿拉伯语实在太难了。不过最近我总算能听懂一些阿拉伯语单词了,我想继续坚持学下去。
谢谢

@afxr.07
Bro Chinese is harder than arabic even if I’m a native Arabic speaker but still at least we have an alphabet so that makes it easier than Chinese

兄弟,汉语可比阿拉伯语难多了,我母语就是阿拉伯语,但至少阿拉伯语有字母体系,这一点就比汉语好学好几个档次。

@TruthHunter-c2r
It does hard to learn grammar from other languages, but once u understand it, there is no problem to know what the word was meant to be & to whom it belongs

学习其他语言的语法确实并非易事,但一旦你理解了这些语法规则,就能准确把握字词的含义以及它们在句中对应的指代对象,就完全不会再有障碍。

@misselle111
My mother tongue is French, I am also fluent in English, and learning Arabic for a year now. I find that my French background helps me more than English to understand the rules and construction of phrases in Arabic.

我的母语是法语,英语也说得很流利,到现在我已经学了一年阿拉伯语了。我发现,相较于英语,法语母语背景能更好地帮我理解阿拉伯语的语法规则和句子结构。

@HuzaifaAyed
I wanted to learn french, it's one of my favorite but i have no money+ no guide about it.

我想学法语,这是我最喜欢的语言之一,但我没有钱+没有相关的指导。

@broken__bottles29
 @HuzaifaAyed  Honey, you're just left a comment here on YOUTUBE. Why won't you start to learn it from here? It's completely free. And there's a lot of guidance to learn French as well
 @HuzaifaAyed

@broken__bottles29

我知道,但记住它们很难

@noryu5792
My mother tongue is French, I'm also fluent in English. My French background didn't help at all, on the contrary it made Chinese hard for me

我的母语是法语,英语也十分流利。但我的法语母语背景不仅没帮上一点忙,反而让汉语的学习对我来说变得更加困难。

@Horrific__
As someone from Egypt, you can literally ask me to read a whole paragraph in Arabic and i would be struggling

我一个埃及人,说真的,就算你让我读一整段阿拉伯语,我都得吭哧半天才能读下来。

@SSTR87
I've been working on Arabic for 2 years now,  started Spanish and Japanese again this year. Some reason i get Japanese and Spanish much easier than Arabic. There's so many sounds i can't pronounce correctly unfortunately

我学习阿拉伯语已经两年了,今年又重新拾起了西班牙语和日语。不知为何,我学日语和西班牙语要比学阿拉伯语轻松得多。可惜的是,阿拉伯语里有太多发音,我都没法准确地念出来。

@rouuuk
I like this girl. Not simping. Just genuinely like her

我喜欢这个女孩。不是舔狗。只是真心喜欢她。

@ruyaal
For me mandarín took much longer to learn, the sheep quantity of characters and combinations is enormous. Your observations are correct and accurate. Maybe you can make a comparison between classical and modern Chinese.

对我而言,普通话花了我更长的时间才学会,汉字的数量以及字词组合方式实在太多了。你的看法准确无误,或许你可以对文言文和现代汉语做一番对比。

@Junyuchensz
Chinese is harder at the beginning , but it gets easier and easier as you progress, after reaching B2-C1 level, it becomes the easiest language in the world…because the most of the academic words are formed with the most common 12000 characters, which means you don’t need to memorise any new vocabulary..even for the law students and the medical students

汉语入门阶段难度较高,但随着学习的深入,会变得越来越容易。当你的水平达到 B2–C1 级别后,它甚至会成为世界上最容易的语言…… 因为绝大多数学术类词汇,都是由最常用的 12000 个汉字组合而成的。这意味着你无需再死记硬背任何新词汇,即便是法学和医学专业,也是如此。

@s.parvez5
My mother tongue is Bangla. I am learning Mandarin Chinese.

我的母语是孟加拉语。我正在学习普通话。

@sub-zero286
I think I still visibility shudder whenever I think of Arabic grammer

一想到阿拉伯语语法,我至今仍会忍不住瑟瑟发抖。

@littlevirtualorbit
the grammar for Chinese sounds like a blessing from the Heavens after speaking Polish i was born in Poland so i have to grow up speaking both, and these cases are like some ancient form of torture! totally superfluous and unnecessary, but i have to learn them!! at least in Chinese they just keep it simple and straightforward!! you can easily communicate your desire (assuming you have your tones right!)

讲了这么多年波兰语,再看汉语的语法,简直感觉是天降福音。我生在波兰,从小到大不得不两种语言一起说,波兰语里的那些格变化,简直就像某种古老的酷刑!

完全多余又没必要,可我还非得学不可!起码汉语的语法走的是简洁直白的路子!只要声调不出错,你就能轻松把自己的想法表达清楚!

@Pecos33109
I'm an English speaker currently studying both Arabic and Mandarin. It's hard to say which is harder, they're both very hard in very different ways. I'm leaning towards Arabic being harder. Despite the written language being easier, Arabic is still very hard because of the missing short vowels, the diglossia, and the grammar. But Mandarin is hard as well, even with simple grammar. The writing system and pronunciation are harder than Arabic.

我是一名以英语为母语的学习者,目前正在同时学习阿拉伯语和汉语普通话。实在很难说这两门语言哪一个更难。它们的难点截然不同,但难度都相当高。

我个人更倾向于阿拉伯语更难一些。虽说阿拉伯语的书写体系相对简单,但它依旧难学,原因在于文本中不标注短元音、存在双言制现象,再加上复杂的语法规则。

而普通话虽然语法简单,同样不好学。它的书写系统和发音,难度都要超过阿拉伯语。

@KwonMi-Ran
As an Arab, I’d say mandarin is harder, but Japanese and Cantonese is even harder.

作为一名阿拉伯人,我得说汉语普通话其实更难,不过日语和粤语比普通话还要难。

@abumalik97
Japanese?, that's probably one of the easiest languages to learn. Super simple, except some illogical use of numbers

日语?那大概算得上是最好学的语言之一了。整体特别简单,就是数字的一些用法不太符合逻辑,有点让人摸不着头脑。

@sanubajal3836
Have been studying arabic for 9 years, still an alien to me

@syarimaisyarah8472
I wish i could fluent in arabic and Chinese language.. right now i am starting study those, language..but sometime i get struggle

我真希望自己能流利地说阿拉伯语和汉语啊。眼下我刚开始学这两门语言,但有时候还是会觉得很吃力。

@Cursed_Fruit
I’m learning Mandarin and for me the hardest thing is the homophones

我正在学普通话,对我来说最难的部分就是那些同音字词。

@Hyuns.digital.footprint.23
My mother tounge is Hindi and I've been studying Arabic recently and can say it is definitely difficult when it's w/o vowels. As for mandarin, it's quite easy to catch by hearing the word but the tones get messed when I try to speak the only bit of mandarin I know lol. Personally, mandarin is harder for me to speak and read and as for arabic, it's easy to read with vowels but I can't speak it at all .

我的母语是印地语,最近一直在学习阿拉伯语。不得不说,阿拉伯语不标注元音的时候,学起来是真的难。

至于普通话,听别人说的时候还挺容易听懂的,可我试着开口说那点仅会的内容时,声调总被我念得乱七八糟,笑死。

就我个人而言,普通话的口语和读写对我来说更难;而阿拉伯语呢,带元音标注的话读起来倒不算费劲,可我完全没办法开口说。

@luziafer5222
My mother tongue is portuguese and Learning Chinese is being quite hard because of the characters, in a dialogue you can easily understand the words despite the tones becausa its all about context.
And it doesnt have conjungations, which makes everthing sooo much easier (until you see how many uses the 'past char'  了 has

我的母语是葡萄牙语,学习中文对我来说相当吃力,难点主要在汉字上。不过在对话里,哪怕声调没听准也能轻松理解对方的意思,因为一切都可以靠语境来判断。

而且中文没有动词变位,这一点真的让学习简单了太多太多,但是直到你发现表示过去的助词 “了”的用法居然有那么多。

@LucaVolga
My native language is Portuguese . In theory, Arabic would be easier for me, but I would choose to learn Mandarin, and motivation is something that matters a lot in the learning process.

我的母语是葡萄牙语。理论上,阿拉伯语对我来说应该更容易,但我选择学习普通话,而动力在学习过程中非常重要。

@pedrammohamadi9968
My mother language is Persian but I prefer to learn Chinese instead of Arabic because I'm learning basic Chinese like daily conversations, tones and characters it's hard but challenging because I'm learning many languages but I'm interested more in East Asian languages. Also I'm teaching Korean

我的母语是波斯语,但相比阿拉伯语,我更愿意学中文。我现在正在学习中文基础内容,比如日常对话、声调还有汉字。学起来确实很难,但也很有挑战性,毕竟我同时还在学好几门语言呢,不过我对东亚语言的兴趣要浓厚得多。另外,我还在教别人韩语

@HimmelsBlues
The reality is that how hard a language is to learn is dependant on how accessible their learning material is, how widespread is their culture, how easy it is to connect with other speakers of this language and how close are the languages you already dominate to the writing system, sentence structure and basic word formation of the language you're trying to learn

事实上,一门语言的学习难度,取决于其学习资料的获取便捷度、文化的传播广度、与该语言使用者的交流便利度,以及你已熟练掌握的语言,与目标语言在书写体系、句式结构和基础构词上的相近程度。

@Estela39
My first language in Spanish and then English - learning Arabic has been really tough and Mandarin looks impossible

我的母语是西班牙语,其次是英语,学阿拉伯语已经够吃力的了,而汉语普通话感觉简直无从下手。

@kawings
How hard or easy is the language depends on the popularity of the language in terms of economic and social acceptance. The more popular it is the more you would listen and the faster you will learn

一门语言的易学或难学程度,取决于它在经济与社会层面的认可度和普及度。这种认可度和普及度越高,你接触到这门语言的机会就越多,学习的进度也会随之加快。

@epkafe
I just wonder why people still use complicate letter such as mandarin, japanese, etc when there are already the simple one such as latin

我实在好奇,既然已经有了拉丁语字母这种简便的文字体系,为什么还有人要使用汉语、日语这类结构复杂的文字呢?

@kongsakdejkoonmak5435
As for Thais, learn to speak Chinese is never been that hard, just only writing and reading which take a lot of memories

对泰国人来说,学说汉语从来就没那么难,真正费功夫的是读写需要花大量时间去记忆。

@bridiemcclure
Native English speaker, but started learning Japanese when I was 11 so while my vocab/rote-memorisation is kinda trash just because I don't use it as often as I'd like, I have a very easy time understanding grammar and its concepts. This makes it so much easier to pick up patterns in Korean which grammatically is very similar, and Korean hangeul is extremely easy to learn quickly. There are also overlaps in some vocabulary so once you know the structure and can hear consistent patterns, you can pick it apart.

我母语是英语,11 岁起就开始学日语了。虽说因为没有像我希望的那样经常使用它们,我的词汇量和机械记忆能力都挺差的,但我理解日语语法及其概念却毫不费力。

这一点让我学习韩语时轻松了不少, 韩语的语法和日语十分相似,而且韩文的谚文字母特别容易快速掌握。两种语言的部分词汇也存在重合,

所以只要你吃透了语法结构,能听出其中固定的规律,就能把韩语的门道摸清楚。

While the meanings of characters can be different, my familiarity with kanji in Japanese would give me a bit of a leg up for Chinese - except Japanese kanji is more similar to traditional Chinese hanzi than simplified - or at least I notice many more unfamiliar hanzi in simplified than when I see traditional. Sometimes you can guess some things but they might not be accurate - 手紙 for example (hand + paper) is "letter" (that you write to someone) in Japanese whereas in Chinese it's "toilet paper"

I have an EAR for Mandarin tones, and grew up around lots of Chinese people including Cantonese, so perhaps I would struggle less than some people, but as for memorising  them and using them correctly all the time, I think I would struggle.

我对普通话的声调天生敏感,从小到大身边也有不少中国人,其中也包括粤语使用者。

所以或许我学起来会比其他人轻松一些,但要记住所有汉字,还能时时刻刻准确运用的话,我觉得自己还是会很吃力。

I've looked far more into SE Asian languages than anything resembling Arabic so Arabic would probably destroy me lol. Even though I'm good at understanding grammar, the vast differences would throw me off just because I'm working from an English or Japanese standpoint so it's just much more unfamiliar to me.

我对东南亚语言的了解,可比阿拉伯语要多得多,所以阿拉伯语估计能把我难哭,笑死。虽说我还算擅长理解语法,但阿拉伯语和我熟知的英语、日语差异实在太大了,光是从这两门语言的思维角度去学,

就足够让我一头雾水,毕竟这门语言对我来说实在太陌生了。

I was learning some Thai from my Laotian step mum when I was a kid so that kick-started my interest in languages, but then I took to Japanese. The only non-Asian language I've really looked into is French haha

小时候我跟着老挝籍的继母学过一点泰语,这件事算是为我打开了语言学习的兴趣大门,后来我就迷上了日语。我真正主动去了解过的非亚洲语言,也就只有法语了,哈哈。

@Bennonii
I started learning both, I found Chinese to be a lot harder. But it's also more mindblowing (in a good way) and improves your memory a lot. Afterwards, it came easier to me remembering vocab in other languages.
Arabic I'm curently studying again, so far only past tense, but all grammar I encountered thus far is logical and quite easy, I like it so far.

我一开始是两门语言一起学的,后来发现中文要难得多。不过这门语言也格外让人惊叹(是那种好的层面上的惊叹),而且还能大大提升记忆力。

从那以后,我记其他语言的词汇也变得轻松多了。

阿拉伯语我眼下重新捡起来学了,目前只学到了过去时态。但到现在为止,我接触到的所有语法都条理清晰,还挺简单的,就目前的学习体验来说,我还挺喜欢这门语言的。

@thakurvtr19
Arabic familiar for me as Indian but Chinese is too difficult for me

阿拉伯语对我来说很熟悉,但汉语对我来说太难了

@YamenHawit
My grandma taught me Arabic grammar as a kid and I’m still traumatized

我奶奶小时候教我阿拉伯语语法,我现在还心有余悸

@naremogaming2014
As an Egyptian,I think Arabic is way much easier than Chinese,but I still believe that learning Arabic is very hard

作为一名埃及人,我觉得阿拉伯语可比中文简单多了,但即便如此,我还是认为学阿拉伯语绝非易事。

@SunGod-l4q
As a Muslim since we learn Arabic first (childhood) we find this language the easiest but Chinese the most difficult language

身为穆斯林,我们从孩童时期就最先接触并学习阿拉伯语,所以在我们看来,这门语言是最容易的,而中文则是最难的语言。

@ifndi7623
Currently i still learn both of this language

我眼下还在同时学习这两门语言

@CooperNasa
I'm from Central Asia. each one is very difficult. but learning arabic is useful.

我来自中亚。两者都非常难。但学习阿拉伯语很有用。

As italian, i learned basics Chinese conversation in a month by just hearing my Chineses collegues at work during their own conversations, i start to be sit in a corner and hear their tones, the way they spoke and observe the body gesture that accompaign the words, after a couple of weeks i start to spoke with them and let us understand each others (though my pronounce and grammar rule was absolute absent and i was speaking like a robot), then in the next weeks i was even able to understand part of their conversations and even enjoy some social group conversations during celebrations and being even able to laugh to some of them!

But writing is another thing, the only thing i remember is to write the numbers, nothing more.

但书写就是另一回事了,我唯一记得怎么写的就只有数字,别的一概不会。

Now since many years i don't practice it, i almost forgot anything, but very intresting language and very polite and available peoples are the Chineses!

这些年我几乎没再用过中文,差不多都忘光了。不过中文真是一门很有意思的语言,中国人也都十分有礼貌、待人热情!

@Avicenna_76
I think there are many Malaysians who master both languages. I meet one who went to Chinese school as a child and went to arabic school as teenager. And did his degree in the UK.

我觉得有不少马来西亚人能同时精通这两门语言。我就认识一个这样的人,他小时候读的是华文学校,青少年时期上了阿拉伯语学校,大学则是在英国攻读的学位。

@Think-scientifically
Foreigners can learn mandarin quite easily, but learning the Chinese dictionary is almost impossible

外国人学普通话其实不算难,但要把汉语词典里的内容全都吃透,那几乎是不可能的事。

@O-soba_mask
The tones in Chinese are the hardest thing I know. You can say a « your horse is coming » and in the same time people understand « your Mother is coming ».

汉语的声调是我所知最难的部分。你明明说的是 “你的马要来了”,别人听着却可能以为是 “你妈妈要来了”。

@khaleds4608
Mandarin is harder for me, interesting video, keep it up

对我来说普通话更难,有趣的视频,继续加油

@DeEmperor1
I wanted to learn both but no one around me to be speaking with

我想学这两种语言,但周围没有人可以和我交流

@supergroovy8346
Where did you get this super human strength to learn both?

你从哪里获得这种超人的力量来学习这两种语言的?
