The Indian host is frustrated. She only wants to hear the guest saying India is great but he is not saying that.

@markc6140
The host is no difference to the hawkish anti-China Palki with Firstpost. They only sing India praises but did not acknowledge its shortcomings in many areas and will it be improved. Always obsessed to beat China. Simple question- how many gold medal did India won since she joined the Olympic competition. From sports achievements, you can tell how great a country has excelled.

Go visit New Delhi and see its roads and traffic, you will know what India can achieve.
Every capable Indian talent wants to leave India for English-speaking countries like Canada, US, Australia ...etc.

I am an Indian, still I find this host (like many other Indian TV and poscast hosts) to be annoying. The title itself is annoying.- "Can India challenge US and China?" They always want to challenge some super power. I don't see a German/French/Malaysian/etc... asking a similar question. She started the interview without giving even a brief introduction to the guest. Honestly, i don't know why the guest agreed to appear on a podcast, where the host appears to have a set of standard questions and processing them one after the other. Honestly, i don't even know how I ended up at this channel. Must be a YouTube algorithm glitch. I just heard her say "more better".

"The Chinese nation, is the most patient in the world; it thinks of centuries as other nations think of decades. It is essentially indestructible, and can afford to wait." -from the book "The Problem of China" written by Bertrand Russell, the great British philosopher, back in 1920 while he spent a year in China teaching in the Peking University.

@solu100

@Pura70Ultra
The issue with respect to ASEAN-India, is that India doesn't have much to offer ASEAN that ASEAN doesn't produce itself. Some agricultural products, some cheap metal product, some pharmaceuticals. India needs ASEAN more than ASEAN needs India, however ASEAN needs China more than ASEAN needs India.

@sbs2047
It's like a child keeps asking a grown up, "how can I become Superman?", and the grownup keeps politely evading a straight answer because they don't want to break the kid's little heart.

@petergohtek5842
The Chinese are very humbled and hardworking people that makes China so successful.

@amimi-ricky
Why do Indians aspire to become a superpower so eagerly? In China, few people mention the desire for the country to become a superpower. Even now, the vast majority of Chinese people do not consider China to be a superpower already. The Chinese are more focused on improving their own lives and the nation's rejuvenation and development, rather than becoming a so-called superpower.
Becoming a superpower is not a goal, but a natural outcome of national development.

@rishikeshaishwarya4099
Yes I agree
India has to look internally and solve all the internal problems
Focus on increasing capital expenditures and reducing revenue expenditure and basic infrastructure
But at the same time should also focus on high-tech like AI, semiconductor, nanotechnology etc
There is no point in looking too much in external world before one has made strong from internally.

@person1858
@amimi-ricky I think your claim itself is incorrect. Chinese people's attitudes are not that different from ours, they're just as nationalistic. Just that you don't hear as much from them due to their internet being seperated from the rest of the world.

@kofiadade7808
@person1858 After living in China the last 2 decades, the Chinese are very different from Indians and thats a fact. Forget about the internet, the people are focus3d on themselves and dont consider their current place in the world as having attained a super power status. They still say they are a developing nation so this is what drives them yet Indians see themselves as almost a super power yet again this is a very disturbing illusion that has to stop. India sure can be an important player on the world stage but they must first look at lifting the over 900million poor people out of abject poverty and raise the level of education.

@dharamewada6922
Exactly boss, Indians per se are not bothered but are busy improving their life, it is basically media and politicians who are a bit obsessed with it may be trying to project but to some extent it is required but not go over board.

@advaitaveda5671
Chinese have a very high opinion of themselves while sqeemishly saying they are still a developing country. The whole world started being apprehensive of Beijing when they started punching above their weight back in 2012 itself. They sort of toned down the rhetoric of being a great power after they saw the west's reaction to their assertive Posturing. I'm not saying if that attitude is good or bad. I think any country should be free to indulge themselves in any kind of superiority or delusions of greatness they want as long as it won't affect others. But unfortunately that's not the case especially with a country like US. And obviously the backlash to Chinese assertion was quick and strong from the west and its media and interestingly Chinese also kinda stopped their assertive Posturing overtime and that was more apparent in covid and after covid. Chinese Ppl mocking India during those hard times that they begot upon the world was some peak levels of superiority complex. Don't trust them when they say they are humble thats kinda bs actually. They are low key racist under scrutiny and full on bigots when allowed to be.

@pikachus5m166
@advaitaveda5671 You just described India to a T, and to a lesser but similar extent, the US. And it's so obvious India plays to the US tune. If anyone is being assertive, it's the US with their pivot to Asia in 2011, and with Modi coming to power, gladly playing second fiddle to American primacy, especially with regards to the Galwan conflict, to follow up on rhe Doklam dispute a few years earlier, prompted by Hindutva nationalism and egged on by Trumps policy of confrontation. As for Covid, that failed as intended US bioweapon attack on China, again, India diligently played second fiddle. It was Indian scientists who first discovered the HIV insertions of this bioengineered virus, but as soon as that was revealed, it was withdrawn, due to "insufficient data", obviously because it countered the US narrative. And then after Feb 2020 Trumps state visit, like an obedient vassal, Modi planned the Galwan provocation. As for the Covid virus that struck India a full 18mths after wuhan, it bore no direct relation to that strain, rather several mutated variants on, and India loathe to admit, from rhe West, particularly from the EU. So keep playing the victim due to your own failings and siding with a declining hegemon, Chinas about progress and will leave India further behind in the dust.

@73oxen
Comparing China and India, is like comparing US and Indonesia. same population but not comparable at all. Its not *** bots, its reality.

@ScanHong
The biggest issue is that if the Indian and Indonesian don't work at all, their lands provide everything for their lives. But in China and the US, if people are not hard working they will be hungry.

@WongPeter-tx7qq
@ScanHong Population stays poor in an economy with subsistence farming. They broke their backs working on the field. Tell me how many small farmers became bankrupted and committed suicide in India every year.

@dl8935
I have been to India three times in the past ten years.
The reason I went to India was to assess the business environment in India.
My assessment of India is that it is at least fifty years behind East Asian countries.
The people of this country do not have any credibility at all.
There is a saying in my country about investing in India: Make money in India and spend it in India, don't even dare to think about taking a penny home.
Overall, this country has no hope.

@CC-rd9wj
Not only behind China and US. Some countries in south east Asia ie Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand are much much better than India in terms of infrastructure, cleanliness, civil sense etc too.

@teresaho4092
I respect the speaker. He is brutally frank and honest. His view is cogent and realistic, no bullshit nor flattery. He highlighted Chinese prowess in various spheres and her long term planning that India lacked, much to the disappointment of the Indian host.

@maxdc888
The male speaker is not Indian. He is a Swiss citizen, named Claude Smadja. He mentioned a few times that his country is Switzerland.

@bprajubp
Why any country should be a superpower. No need. One should have quality life. That's enough.

@lyttlebee
When it costs more to do your laundry using washing machines than by someone's hands, you talk about "quality life"?

@sportszone9159
@bprajubp one should have quality life of most of the people in a big country that country automatically become superpower.

@justhomas67
I wonder how a country can be superpower that is with 85% of its population still live below the subsahara living standard.

@parimlk
85%? Which country are you referring to?

@imadkhaliq2941
@parimlk truth hurts and Godi media doesn't show the reality. If it makes you happy then let me say India is the super power and Indian are the richest people in the Universe.

@JestoniPalma
@parimlk isnt it obvious? Its india ffs...india gdp per capita is equal to sub saharan africa...it means an average indian income is that of a third world country...

@parimlk
@JestoniPalma I agree that per capita income is less compared to other countries. But things have changed from 10-20’years. For example apple factory has also built accommodation for workers. If government mandates such facilities for all manufacturing jobs then standard of living will go high. There is lot of work to do but it can only get better going forward.

@parimlk
@JestoniPalma government of India gives basic healthcare free. Basic education free basic food is very cheap thru ration card. If you are in Karnataka transportation for women is free. If you save for kids education interest rate is high. Higher for girl child. Women of the household gets a stipend from government. You should consider all this.

@liujuxiang6214
The expert’s analysis was very accurate, but it was not what the blogger expected. From her expression, you can tell that she was very disappointed, because in the perception of Indians, India is already a superpower.

@charttrakarn3438
She is no different from Palki Sharma who wants to hear from the guest that India is a Super Power. But she was disappointed just like Palki, the guest said only 2 countries only China and the US.

@jakblu5411
This gentleman warned this lady more than once: Don't mess with China, concentrate on doing your own thing, you are not on the same level as China, but it is obvious that this woman completely ignored this point.

@jackyhuang8789
That’s same thinking of India government, desperately want to become the superpower by challenging other countries, never calculate the cost. Should watch more BBC, always think about “at what cost”
