I've known that gesture was wrong since preschool. I've never even witnessed anyone doing it- because everyone knows its racist. The fact that she would even think to do it shows at the very least an extreme lack of intelligence and judgment. She knew what it meant or she wouldn't have done it in that context. I'm not a fan of cancel culture but when you're in a job that requires you to essentially be a representative for a country its not terribly surprising that using very bad judgement in a public space might get you fired.
