This itself clearly shows the indians feeding brits.
The reason why india showing restraint is the influence UK has on its previous colonies. India wants use the common wealth group to its advantage , so going easy on the Brits for now .
Just because i pointed out present scenario doesn't mean a nuclear weapon country with a field marshall, is doing better than india.

Where is India's sovereignty? Why can't we take independent decisions on our own soil? Just imagine if the situation were reversed-if an Indian jet landed in a foreign country, they would've immediately moved it to a hangar or secure area, citing security reasons or whatever suited them.

@Littlebigbot Yeah. Dont even talk about that. The chatter in Indian circles is that we should have went with Safran or RR. We got like 20 engines in 7 years. The whole program got delayed because the Americans couldn't deliver the engine on time. Plus the one crash the Tejas has ever had was also due to engine failure.

The engine didn't malfunction. The seas were too choppy due to the monsoons, eliminating the possibility of landing on the HMS PoW. The hydraulic fault may have developed later.

Some of the comments are hilarious, but jokes aside he was probably just following protocol and there's nothing wrong with that. The Indians, I'm sure, would also not take any offence to such a decision.
Also, as others have pointed out - it is, in fact, the Indian CISF that is looking after the jet, as the British pilot eventually had to leave and go back. That is not a lack of trust in any way.

Now comparing with China and as it's opposition lets analyse
F35 doesn't have any beyond visual range air to air weapon eg pl 15 or now the pl 17
It has limitations on range and availability and cost to punch
The weapon r expensive and in comparison to Indian missiles, American weapon package has its limitation in range, effectiveness and damage
India cannot integrate it's own weapon as USA will not allow that
Integration them with its own ground based system and other aircraft system is also tough
Then there is supply chain issue and high rate of failure, also cause of it being single engine
I don't know y did USA even develop f 35!!!! I mean it definitely is not built considering China as an adversity
It is a good plane if the enemy don't have air defense and stealth jet
If it has them then f35 can only do limited harm with lots of damage to itself

I remember going to an air show in Honolulu decades ago. They had a F117 there. It was cordoned off with ropes and two USAF security airmen in full tac gear & M4s guarded it. You couldn’t get within 50’ of it.

SOP security for the jet, he watched it until the RAF mainteance team showed up. To be fair I'm not exactly sure what he'd have done if the IAF/Indian army had shown up in force so it was a bit academic and I'd guess was done with agreement from the Indian authorities believe it diverted because of minimum fuel and then I believe had a hydraulic fault. I'm not sure if he was solo when it all developed.

Indian navy just concluded naval excercise with the UK and the UK's carrier strike group is still in the arabian sea. Highly unlikely there will be any kind of intrusiveness from India's side as IAF themselves offered help during this event so the F35 can safely land at the airport. IAF also offered to move the aircraft to a hangar which was promptly refused by the UK side and understandably so.

TRV was their pre-designated diversion airport. Why would the RN choose here (I'm at TRV) if they didn't have a prior arrangement with the Indian administration? The airport is also a minor airbase for the IAF. The fact that nothing interesting is happening shows that there is no hostility or distrust. In fact, it's an Indian paramilitary force that's guarding the fighter - surely at the request of the RN. They're working out a plan to repair or transport the fighter, including possibly moving the fighter to a hangar nearby for repairs. Also, the F35 couldn't land on the HMS Prince of Wales because the sea was choppy.

The main question is what is F35 doing in that airport in the first place. Bad weather, refuelling reasons are all false. F35 as an aircraft is revealing its inherent technical problems.

They landed that jet and kept it in the open for days at one of the wettest civillian airports in one of the wettest weather.
That jet needs a through inspect and possibly some cleaning before the pilot moves his/her fingers anywhere near the main battery switches in the cockpit.

That airport is the HQ base of India's Southern Air command. And Thiruvananthapuram (Pronounced Thiru - Anantha- Puram) is the capital city of Indian state of Kerala. There are other military aircrafts in that airport with military bases nearby. There also an army base in that city. The city also contains vital ports. So there is a lot of security in that city. You are not going to protect that aircraft with rifles. And that jet is still in that airpot for a week now. If they want to sabotage the aircraft, they can do it. They don't do it only because India consider UK as a friendly country and India don't like creating problems with other friendly countries.
And BTW, the jet is now guarded by India's CISF.
