Many go to education consultancies and enquire which courses will give them an easy path to PR. So the intention is not to get an education but to get a PR. The number of bogus, fraudulent students that have entered Canada, Aus, NZ, etc is so high.

This is a good trend.  Western countries like Canada have lied to their people and used various permits as a way to dilute their population and increase vote banks.  Also Indian students, especially Punjabis, use the student permits as part of a scam to get PR or simply overstay the visa.  It's also used by Punjabi criminal networks to get their gangsters into Canada.  Stay in Punjab and do your business there.

I feel sorry for the honest innocent students whose future is ruined because of this corrupt government, corrupt officials, a few corrupt people , fraud , corruption is rampant in our country, unabatedly allowed to happen. Why should honest people suffer? Foreign governments should come up with some scheme by which honest students will not be affected.  Like a bond of some amount which will be returned once you complete your studies and leave.

We need to look at the bigger picture, they come as students so that it makes it easier to stay in the country to work and take over the little job available. They work for cheaper salaries. The way they can do this is because they have many living under one roof. And over stay there student visas.

Its actually good for Indian parents who are borrowing anywhere from 25-80 lakh rupees and later struggling to repay the loans when their kids stay unemployed in foreign lands for 1-2 years! Please don't borrow so much unless your kid is really brilliant. There are very few jobs for freshers in foreign countries, specially in technology sector!

Great! Finally the whole process will get overhauled. But in most of the case since last year it has turned out to be a money making gimmick by the Canadian government.
They take the visa fees and then deny the visa. Sometimes it’s just ordinary tourist visa just for sightseeing. For decades they were letting all people enter their country without checking their criminal records. And now they can’t make out the difference between genuine and fraud. People who pay money for obtaining the visa are left high and dry . In fact genuine travellers & students should join hands and take legal action against the Canadian government , Indian agents & authorities and fake colleges and institutions abroad .

There are at least 195 countries in the world. India has monopolized student visas in Western countries for FAR FAR FAR too long. There needs to be a ban on Indian students for at least 30 years in the Western World so students from other countries can get their fair share to get into Western Universities.

As the article says, there has been a lot of fraudulent visas from fraudulent universities that were used by fraudulent students who were looking for immigration rather than education. So far all bright students from top university of india are going outside india. This will force these indian top brians to stay in country and it will clear path for developed india.

But as a Canadian citizen, we should look in to the loop holes in Canada as well ,there are tons of useless colleges around every nook and corner in Toronto for which poor Indian students get attracted and falls for it and since they have have paid for visa , college fees and travel , they have to work in what ever worthless environment and this country has build on mostly the money coming from immigration or the tax paid by immigrants and whole eco system survive on that
It’s absolutely ok to keep them at bay if my Country (India) students are doing fraud to go to any other country but we should punish the people who are entertaining them too …. Because today you can reject Indian students but this existing racket would target to some other country to attract their directionless youth and fill their own pockets by their money
