Here in America it costs about $500-$1000 for an X-ray after all the bills are summed up, and that’s going through a major insurance provider via a fortune 500 company.

Yep, which is also why some practices are going back to how medical care worked in the 1800s - concierge care where you pay a monthly fee to your doctor. This is what I do with my dentist and it is cheaper than dental insurance. I pay him like 350$ for 4 cleanings and 25% off any additional dental work that is needed.

Notice the Democrats are NOT fighting for universal healthcare free or cheap at the point of service. Obamacare was modeled on Romneycare, which was still very much pro health insurance company legislation.
We can do better and we must.

The amount of gaslighting the Democrats and their weird supporters on this subreddit it insane. Like do they not know any history l outside of what their DNC overlords tell them?
Obamacare was gutted by Biden and Lieberman for the sake of Healthcare companies. Additionally, even when people were advocating for M4A, the last 3 Democratic candidates were all against it and only called for expanded "access", whatever the fuck that means.
We need to do better, but the fact of the matter is that we can't rely on these Democrats anymore for it.

Which is important to note for profit healthcare wasn’t really a mainstream thing until 1973. This was a big shift that happened in the 1970s-1980s.
Also as someone who’s had to go to hospital in Asia, It’s crazy that I did not have the same anxiety of healthcare costs that I have in my home country USA. And I have always had heath insurance too.

Do you think the CCP doesn't want high healthcare prices? China's healthcare system relies on overcharging for drugs, while examination fees are relatively low. The reason is that Chinese people have very low incomes (600 million people earn less than $140 per month, and 900 million earn less than $280 per month). If prices were the same as in the US, most people couldn't afford medical care.

The difference between bourgeois capitalism and capitalist development with the goal of building advanced socialism under the guidance of a communist party is staggering. The state can be wielded to be wildly successful at anything it does, but in the United States the state serves mostly as an organizing committee for the affairs of the capitalist class and their common class interests. Our government is a means for the capitalists class, and the bourgeois capitalist system is inseparable from the bourgeois state. "Public-private" never means anything other than bourgeois profit interests using the state to facilitate those profit interests.

Ah yes the United States executes and imprisons billionaires for corruption just like China. Oh wait... nope
In the same numbers when one country is 5 times larger also, and the number of billionaires in China has decreased nearly 40% in the last couple of years
Using the capitalist mode of development under the guidance of a vanguard party to develop toward advanced socialism is the most basic principle of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism. The existence of markets and billionaires is expected, but the state doesn't serve the class interests of the capitalist class like in bourgeois capitalism, the capitalists instead serve the interests of the state. Or they are punished. It is why the bourgeois form of capitalism in the United States if faltering while China is thriving.

Yep. MRI is old technology, nowadays, it should cost 70 USD to take one now:
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) was invented in the 1970s.
1971: Paul Lauterbur and Peter Mansfield independently published research on the use of magnetic resonance to create images.
1972: Raymond Damadian patented the first MRI scanner.
1973: Lauterbur created the first magnetic resonance image of a mouse.
1974: Mansfield published a paper on how to create three-dimensional images using MRI.
1977: Damadian and his team performed the first full-body MRI scan on a human.
The first commercial MRI machine was installed in 1983.

Let me give you my most recent example. Last year I paid for a full body MRI on my own and spent $2500.00
This year I needed an MRI on my lower leg. Simple no contrast type of MRI. I get a doctor’s referral and get such MRI through insurance. The radiology place charged my insurance company $3800.00 resulting in a $900.00 cost to me(deductible+coinsurance).
Meanwhile, if you do a search for radiology places to get this same MRI done privately an average cost comes out to $600-800.
What kind of Ponzi scheme is this? How can such an MRI cost $4000 via insurance coverage meanwhile privately one can get it for almost 1/10 of the cost??
wtf is going on with the price gouging??

They can do medical tourism in rich countries too, the medical stuff doesn't cost that much more, but it's the rest of the cost of living (ie food, lodgings and flight) stuff that bumps up the price.

The American people who didn't vote for the Orange Shit Stain are too apathetic to rise up. I'm watching them just roll over and die right now. Their food has been cut off, their healthcare has been made unaffordable, they're losing their jobs, they're getting thrown out of their apartments and onto the streets and you hear NOT even a peep from the public at large. France rioted and burned buildings just because the government tried to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64. Can you imagine what the French would do if they were facing the same cuts Americans are facing now? But Americans just sigh and shrug and say, "What can we do" as millions of us rummage the local restaurant dumpster for supper.

See this is what I'm talking about I got three sentences in and you were saying stuff that is absolutely fucking stupid. The implication that everyone that doesn't support Trump cannot afford healthcare, stay employed, afford food, maintain a place to live etc is fucking hilariously stupid. Is that happening to some people? Sure although perhaps not all at once. Does that include everyone that votes democrat or doesn't like Trump? Fuck off lMao where do you people come from
Believe it or not the reason most people aren't in the streets rioting, burning it all to the ground and potentially killing people is because the truth is most of us are still completely fine and living more or less exactly how we always have. The dramatic bullshit people come up with thinking everyone is just suffering and starving to death while doing nothing is mind boggling that's obviously not true. Also its not just people who don't support Trump in the first place. A lot of the places that voted heavily in his favor *are* the poor people that need help

America's worst enemy will never be Russia or China. It will be itself.

Healthcare in the us is for profit. In China it’s not for profit. Simple.

Because in places like China basic healthcare is a right and in the United States of America it's a commodity.
It's expensive because it's an investment. In my state of Utah the healthcare company Intermountain Healthcare is the largest employer. Owning hospitals is a way to collect guaranteed rent rather than a way to help people. Every hospital bed, syringe, swab, bandage and pill has a margin of profitability that every human life does not.
In the US we put profits over people. The wealthier the individual gets the more blind they become to that fact.
