I still remember the collapse of pedestrian bridge during that 2010 Commonwealth Games. That's enough to strike it from the eligibility list. I think the corruption level is too high to make them reliable to do anything. They cut costs illegally to profit individually from any project. I think that's where the problem is with India.

I‘ve been to Myanmar and India both several times, even though Myanmar's economy is bad, and regime is so corrupted, but Myanmar is way more clean than India. I mentioned this below. But ironically one of India's cleanest places is not inhabited by Indians. It is in the Northeast, a village called Mawlynnong in the hills of Meghalaya state, regionally close to Myanmar and it is inhabited by the Khasi people, a Southeast Asian Austroasiatic people (who are related to Mon, Khmer, Vietnamese, Palaung people and so on). They are also predominantly Christian. So the contrast is absolutely stunning.

Main issue here is not Hinduism or RSS or any specific religion or just one specific factor. India has just too many problems all running like unending parallel lines to each other. What C has been able to achieve as a society is not only because of their sustained hard work and will to improve, but also due to the contribution of a lot of state imposed forced labour, long standing abusive work conditions, institutionalized state oppression, large scale deliberate , planned & in your face plagiarized tech solutioning, or multiple other sector like manufacturing, sustainable intellectual property theft procedures, innovative sneaking of heavy machinery & industrial equipment design, casual stealing from prominent universities from across the world, loan baiting poor countries fully aware of milking these countries for their benefit. Indian Governments have been a failure for sure, but if any Industrialist were to target a mass manufacturing sector overhaul, which will benefit India as a whole for sure, but will an average Indian be ready to contribute in the similar way as Chinese labour force has delivered. Most Indians want to eradicate the caste divide, the rich poor divide, the education divide, but how many will actually walk the talk. The rich and powerful in this country are privileged, & the poor are shunned & oppressed, but even if an Industrialist/ Government plans to provide opportunities, are Indians collectively as a society ready to utilize it for nation building? Do we really have the capability to walk the talk on a long term basis.
