I'm not an EV person, but it is clear China are simply running way ahead in EV production and producing EV far cheaper and better than anything Europe & US can make at present. Although Tesla is made in China it not a Chinese brand. This car seems to have everything a Tesla did have but is better looking and a great interior. The price for that performance is unbeatable right now. Obviously driving very fast will totally kill range as manufacturers are all about range to entice for ICE owners into a EV.

It's not so much that they outright rip you off. It's more that the research, design, manufacturing and resale processes are by far not as efficient as they could be. And German/European labor laws do their part.

I have been looking for a family car with soft closing doors as I drive my elderly parents and preteen kid constantly and they either fail the shut the door tight or they smash the door really hard: I failed to get it on my past E-class sedan, R-class wagon, Cayenne and my current CA$100k E wagon because it was such an unpopular option on non-top pest models. Then I found it as a standard feature on a CA$70k Genesis, now, I found it on most CA$30k Chinese EVs that are not on sale in North America. Do I think that soft closing door a costly sophisticated engineering product of German research and development? NO! Do I think it’s a rip off? Hell YES!

Chinese workers will work 12 hours for little pay and the CCP government will subsidize alot of the costs, which will make the cost of the cars much cheaper. The problem with this car is that the QC and quality is really bad (except for the press cars). It's good on paper but is plagued with problems and a lot of people who bought it in China regret it. Also, the marketing for this car in China is pure blatant lies. I blame it on the company xiaomi, which doesn't focus on quality but on cost cutting, stealing designs and lying

It's so satisfying to see Chinese auto industry rising and the europeans and gringos crying: 1. cheap labor argument: it's not valid anymore. Chinese workers are More expensive than a Lot of workers from other countries, say india, Vietnam, etc. Their cars are just cheaper because of higher automation. This was promoted by the government. 2. Chinese products are just copycats: this Is not the case anymore. Battery and software tech Is being deceloped by the largest engineers and research teams in the World within these Chinese behemoths. 3. Chinese state involvement: something u can find easily in europe AND the US. In Latinamerica we are not allowed by gringos to do this. So: cry baby cry, it's Time to end western monopolies and in the southern world we are pleased!
