If you understand the point he was trying to make is that you can't have zero gun deaths in a society that uses guns for the protection of it's citizens. There will be a cost of life to continue to have gun rights. Men and women give up their lives in wars in order to protect their freedoms. Without gun rights, tyrannical governments would take over the world and people wouldn't have any rights other than what a tyrannical government may say what your rights are. Countries without gun rights have the most tyrannical governments and have no way to protect themselves if their community gets invaded by tyrranicals . People that don't have gun rights have no way to protect themselves if someone breaks into their home and decides to bully everyone around with a gun. What Charlie was saying here is that he thinks the cost is worth it to continue to have gun rights so that we can protect our other rights, because the cost is little compared to the cost it would be if we didn't have gun rights.

I don't see this statement as provocative or ironic at all. Charlie Kirk obviously meant the population should have the right to arm themselves for self protection.
He had a clear stance on violence - he did NOT support it. But how do you - and by "you", I mean especially you who are opposing gun rights - how do you plan to protect yourself against people who want to harm you, if you can't get a gun? Can you scare off a robber with angry words? Can you scare off burglars with a butter knife?
Rest assured, criminals will always have access guns. Gun control will affect one type of person ONLY, and that's law abiding citizens.
Zero gun deaths is utopia, and Charlie knew that. That doesn't mean he supported killers.

Gun laws is the last thing we all should be talking about China as related to this iasues.1. China has a system that promotes humanity and value of each person within a built community. 2. It has laws against hate and promotes inclusivity. Thus, Kirk wouldnt exist in China. Those folks get recruited by the WEST to sow hate outside of Chinas border. 3. Gun laws are the last resort since large amount of other countries with gun laws still has mass shooting.
Lastly, it is becoming obvious that most westerners that moved to China to find a better living has not adopted and appreciated the socialist system to a point of learning it. They promoting China with weatern pov and liberal lens on social media.

when confronted with this argument, they always say "if you really want to hurt somebody, you'll find another way other than guns". but the truth is, guns make it a million times easier. that's why countries with really struct gun laws don't have this problem.

edit: she's 100% wrong about Charlie Kirk. He never advocated against any one group of people. All he did was go to campuses and debate people on his conservative views.
