Put this song on spotify..... trust me, leave it to the animation community to blow it up.
@Labrinthhh
This song is about children's presure from heavy school's work, parents' expectations and peer presure.

1. This dance theme depicts student competition in academics. The rabbit is the smart student, while the tortoise is the less intelligent one. At the beginning of the video, they challenge each other.
2.For some reason, the tortoise's performance in certain subjects is dragging down their overall grades. Therefore, the tortoise's legs are not flexible during the dance. Later in the video, the tortoise's legs are forced to move like the rabbit's, as this is the only way to close the gap with the rabbit.
3.The green light means that students should study hard at the moment. But even on weekends, the light remains green, causing both the rabbit and the tortoise to lose their minds.
4.The big screen initially displays a trophy, but eventually transforms into a pinwheel because they both gave up the competition and needed rest, freedom, and some time to themselves. The traffic light then begins to flash red, yellow, and green.
5.These are kindergarten children (girls) from Beijing, China. They have eight-pack abs.
6. There is a little girl inside the traffic light.

just relax. and try to see another thing...
@mildredquinones924
Fun fact: the stop light that moves during the dance.....is the last member of the dance crew who was small enough to do the role without falling in the 'costume'

Aaah the music is so good. Esspecially the first half is tickling my brain for some reason.

All dancers are very young girls; the dance moves are extremely difficult, supposedly < 1% of adults can do those moves; but according to the dance instructor, the hardest part is to convince half of her class to wear the turtle costume.
Here’s the English translation of those lyrics (they’re kind of playful and complaining about schoolwork overload):
Middle part of the song (misheard / 空耳 style):
Monday: Chinese and math calculations, too many practice questions make my eyes blur.
Tuesday: English words and phrases, the reading class dragged on with no break.
Wednesday: Classical Chinese and poetry dictation, programming robot code has no solution.
Thursday and Friday: all-out attack, calligraphy class and advanced tutoring with no relaxation.
Knowledge points and textbooks packed dense,
Narrative essays and practical writing make me afraid to read.
“What on earth is 之乎者也 supposed to mean?”
Formulas, theorems, logic are way too complex.
No, no, no, no—
No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no!!
@kitty4067
That was an amazing dance! I saw on xiaohongshu that many parents were sharing how hard their kids worked to prepare for this competition, along with some training clips from the coaches. These Chinese kids are just incredible.
@Дневник_полиглота
I'm glad it got famous. It brings up very deep and important issues in our society. At the end you can see them throwing their masks because they're only kids after all forced to be in a race while having NATURALLY different abilities and skills. Also would love to see coaches' names and not just a center.
@blubox2424
I love the the detail that the first tortoise and hare were friendly until the lights came on, and even ran off stage holding hands when they went back off.
@nguyenichduy
The kids' physical strength is amazing
@umlaut_loser
Not ashamed to admit that I cried to this. The dance IS very satisfying to look at and an impressive feat considering their age, but the message of the piece breaks my heart. School is already hard where I live, so thinking about the kind of pressure kids as young as 5 are under in China and other east-asian countries makes me so so sad. Kids should have the time and space to be kids. Too much school and pressure does more harm than good.
@myj05ns
when i realized these are all girls i feel so much more emotional and proud of these children
@o0OHermioneO0o
This moves me to tears whenever I watch it. As a teacher, it's hard to see struggling students fail, because what they fail is a rigid system, not life. So you do everything you can to bridge the gaps. But the system also fails us educators and no matter how deep our compassion runs, our energy isn’t infinite.

This part sounds like panting out of exhaustion, like trying to keep up with the impossible pace.
@moot8107
The irony is that these children dancers were also trained under the same kind of pressure
@chalronbjork4766
What's crazy is how good they are all in sync with the other dancers. Crazy when you realise how young they are.
@lindazhao9075
I thought it is the original tortoise and hare race story. The last 2 min hit me so badly. I am in tears already. I did not expect this twist. Great job, girls!
@PaekSukis
One of the best things on the Internet. The act, music, costume. Absolutely impressive!
@krokozabrya
The most amusing thing is that the dance is about studying and excessive persistence, but when the children choreographed this dance, most likely it was difficult for them too and they had to come with discipline.
@MsWithoutNick
I'm Ukrainian. I live in Austria. But apparently, this has affected everyone everywhere. It seems everyone sees the same thing here: school. Academic performance. I was one of those introverted turtles. I delved into very detailed information. Because of this, I was considered stupid. Because I asked very precise questions. While my classmates only superficially grasped information for the sake of grades. Because of this, I got bad grades. And you could say "grades mean nothing." No!!! They do. I didn't get into the university I wanted. Simply because I was a few points short due to the fact that the exams after school were held 150 km from my city in another huge metropolis. I got nervous. And thus, I failed one of the exams. Which affected MY ENTIRE LIFE.
@zoezebra04
these kids as so talented its crazy, when the tortoises are doing their tricks? or the rabbits jumping perfectly every time? incredible
@patrickwang3832
The story of the tortoise and the hare is a well-known fable in China: although the tortoise is slow, it persists and moves forward without stopping. The hare is fast but arrogant, stopping to play along the way, and in the end, the tortoise reaches the finish line first. However, at the conclusion of this dance, the children discard the props of both the tortoise and the hare, return to being themselves, and enjoy the journey together. What a brilliant dance, and such a creative fitness dance as well!
@LordNinja109
Some of the bunnies overtaking other bunnies makes it more thematic for some reason.
