If dreaming makes Indian people happy, then let them be. Living in dreams is better than living in their reality.

@DouglasW-m9z
dreaming is actually a good thing, hallucinating is a different story
@rajsub3884
Atlest it gives them way to reach to alien planet where they get what they desire
@colinlee9678
You can always tell the Indian version of English as it is heavily Indian - accented!
@mythbusterthe6749
Very true. In some places you don't even think they are spatuling England.
@stephenleung9189
they cannot even spell the word 'English' correctly.
@superfarzan3996
Surprisingly enough, the first ever English words ever read by any Indian is literally "Made In China"
@ah5878
I go to India for work couple times a year. Not most people speak English, India doesn't even have a standard language and the heavy English accent is hard to understand. When Indian shake head to you, you don't know that means "yes" or "no". Most Japanese don't speak English neither. 10% of people in the world native language is Chinese.
@PoppinC-l3w
The Indian head shake goes with literally everything and anything and has no rhyme or reason to it.

While China is busy hosting the FOCAC summit 2024, leaders from 50+ out of 54 countries in the entire African continent and UN Chief António Guterres flew past India to get to China. Shortly after/during the event, Norwegian Prime Minister and Spanish Prime Minister flew past India to get to China to dicuss trade. The number of country leaders that had visited China in a week is more than the number of country leaders that had visited India in a decade and probably more. India consoles herself and went to Brunei/Singapore to beg for more investments/technology transfers/jobs for their unemployed economic refugees. There is a thousand year old saying that says.....If you are rich, everybody wants to be your friend but, If you are poor, nobody wants to be your friend.
@supergroovy8346
India should first start competing with SE Asia and Europe before trying to take on China.
@BharatSuperPower3020
SE Asia and Europe? This is akin to putting a 12 year old in the Octagon with a trained UFC fighter. No competition.
@misterbig9025
We only play cricket. I'm sure we can beat SE Asia
@edhiepitz
well India actually bigger and stronger than many Individual SE country, if you mean whole of them then that will be a different story
@RoseRose-gk6ku
Singapore is 100 years beyond India. Malaysia & Thailand are much much much better than India. And Vietnam & Indonesia are much better than India.
@supergroovy8346
@edhiepitz Yes. As a group the population is closer. So ASEAN and EU. India is basically like EU, several countries speaking different languages grouped together. Like EU has Christianity, India has Hinduism.
@nanyanguo1
@misterbig9025 cricket was a fav sport of brit aristocrats. It has no mass or global appeal but the indians revered this anachronistic game as they always revered the aristocracy element of their former brit colonial master. As there are insufficient countries taking up cricket seriously, it could not be included as competitive sport in Olympic Games even as india tried to get it included in the recent paris olympics.
@johnlay3040
@MrHunzi Indonesia is its matching competitor, but it might have a difficulties to win, due mainly to its excessively oversized population.
@MrHunzi
@johnlay3040 Indonesia has never thought about defeating anyone, they just want to live a better life, become a high-income country and live a decent life. In Aisa, except for India, who thinks about defeating others all day long.
@johnlay3040
@MrHunzi I don't think India is that sort of country either. Economically, yes they are quite ambitious, but not militarily. Indians, like Chinese, are peaceful people. There is only one Asian nation that copies the West to become an aggressive warmonger in Asia. Everyone knows which country that is.
@nshadow888
India compete Africa first, south America before talk about south east Asia, please.
@therover65
China first made sure everyone within its borders are educated and spoke a common language (an amazing feat for a country as huge and as diverse as China). We see stories of village kids in desolate areas walking miles to school in the middle of winter. China will still be the "next China". The West can propagandize all they want. India is a frightful mess compared to China and will need half a century to fix, if they know the roadmap and they start now. (I'm Singaporean and have nothing against India.)
@victorwong4938
Lol, there are real commonalities and common roots of the eight main Chinese dialects to Mandarin, that is why there is only one Chinese language but about a dozen spoken are only dialects, but India has over 1600 languages.
@therover65
@victorwong4938 Why “lol”? Not all people within China’s borders are Han Chinese. China recognizes 56 minorities, who do not share any language commonalities with Han Chinese. You think minorities don’t matter? Minorities who felt neglected or discriminated against are the biggest source of instability: eg. India, Burma, just to name a couple.
@victorwong4938
@therover65 These days, nearly all younger generations of minorities speak good Mandarin, so there is no problem communication between Han and minorities. Second, although minorities languages but like Tibetan don't belong to the Han family language, some of those minority languages are somewhat similar to Han.
@DouglasW-m9z
Indians loves their English colonial master, without their master they wouldn't have India as today. India would be like Africa continent with more than 50 countries.
English colonial master already divided India into a few countries luke Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bagandash, part of Afghanistan, Nepal.
Despite all these, Indians still in loves with their colonial master.
@peterhsieh380
I believe you have missed out Malaysian because they spesk better English than Indian.

India won Zero Gold in 2024 Olympics
while US and China won 40 Golds each

And just last week the Indian beat the Chinese in chess and all Indians chanting India is superpower.

They actually regressed because they won one gold in the Tokyo Olympics
@Facts..Checker
43 Gold medals for China if Territories which are part of China are counted. Even China national anthem were played 42 times not 40!

Each time when an Indian nationalist is becoming a grammar gestapo because he/her is loosing an argumentation, I always reply back by saying that he/her is so lucky that he/her ancestors were ruled by the British for almost 200 years and English is still their official language.
@orozcoapaza1660
I speak English but am learning Chinese cause more and more technical material is in Chinese nowadays, India should promote it's own languages for soft power rather than an invader's one...
@MrHunzi
Language is just a tool. I have been learning English all my life, on and off. I would learn it when it was needed for work, but I would regress after a while. However, English has benefited me a lot and I have seen a lot of different things.
@dehua-2730
English is overrated. It's good to know it but it also means that the country has no more sovereignty and identity like India. India has no unified system, it's a victim of long colonialism like the Philippines that praise itself as democratic and proud of being Fd by the Spaniards and US. Anybody with integrity and pride would not brag about this.
@blcheah2672
The Philippines doesn't even have its own name. (It's named after their conqueror, Philip II.)
And the name India is literally invented by the British. (Natives called the South Asian region different names because they have so many languages.)
@stevewang2
The countries you mentioned, India and Philippines, their people are suffering from very serious cases of "colonialism of the mind".
@hanmi1216

The Romans, Ancient Egyptians, Ancient Chinese, Soviets, Japanese, Mongols, and various civilizations didn't care about English. Why should we?
@johnlay3040
Since British imperialism following its industrial revolution, English has become world linguafranca until today. That's why we care; that's why we could communicate with each other here. It's a good easy language, relatively speaking.
@privacyhelp
Not really, it's all about multilingualism these days. Even many Americans themselves say they don't speak English, they speak American.
@johnlay3040
Don't be silly. They are all English spoken with different accents and slightly different grammatical rules.

I live in Indonesia. What you said about Indonesia is 100% true.
@edhiepitz
no he isn't. Indonesia had similarity with India, i remember back then when i still a kid, Indonesian leader used to boast BS shit like Modi. it just recently we become more humble because we has to! other ASEAN beat us like a dog.
@Huaxiaviewpoint
Indonesia and Malaysia still have serious policies of discrimination against non-Muslims. There have been brutal massacres against Chinese in history. Unfortunately, they have not yet publicly apologized or compensated. I have a very bad impression of these two countries.
As for India, I think it is still a relatively peaceful country. Although there are territorial disputes between us, the former colonizers caused the territorial disputes. We just hope that India can respect history and not continue the mistakes of the colonizers.
@iechuanlee9326
Yes india win with its english & can keep its colonial past but Chinese is proud of its own language mandarin and all its ethnic languages.

Fact 1: Date: X/ 09/ 2024
Putin said, "some of my family members, the little ones, speak Chinese too - they speak it fluently".
Fact 2: Trump's grand daughter, Arabella Kushner, singing in Mandarin.
Fact 3: Stock market genius, Jim Roger, told his daughters to learn/speak Mandarin.
Fact 4: Date: 13/09/2024
Putin said this in his own words: "Russia and China jointly defend the principles of a fair democratic world order based on international law, sovereignty, and equality
Nothing was mentioned about India, Hindi or any other Indian languages.
What do these facts tell you? India is not going to be a superpower country in your or my lifetime. Trump and Putin and Jin Rogers have decided that their descendants will not touch Hindi or any Indian languages. Why? Because these languages are not going to help them in their life/career/business/diplomatic relations etc.
Putin knows who can be trusted and who can't be trusted.
India has left the chat.

A very good analysis.
India does not have much advantage. China has far more advantage in politics, economy, education, social culture, IQ, technology, software. Industry leadership, etc.
India is too far behind in almost everything.

India wouldn't be India today without British colonialism

There wasn't India as a country before British colonialisation.
@rtc3000
They also forgotten Koreans who mostly don't speak English but their innovative mindset and greater competitiveness is world class. Also Taiwanese.
I guess Indians feel that they are better due to Indians as CEO of Microsoft and once a PM of UK but they forgotten that yet are just taking over from others.
Even English speaking countries like UK and Australia... What are they known for? Certainly not innovations and works class brains.
Lastly... If what was said is true? That India has advantage in population and English....will they be satisfied mentally and then leave it at that? I don't see efforts been made to realize this potential... Yet
@PoppinC-l3w
Don't forget Kamala Harris who was raised in an Indian household and is half-Indian who was US vice president. Ireland (Leo Varadkar) and Portugal (Antonio Costa) have had presidents of Indian descent too.

Great respect for your profound thoughts on the building blocks of national competitive advantages and the importance of a national education.
India is an ex-colony but the colonisation of the Indian minds continues because of its educational system. This system creates Anglicised political, media and business demagogues. They embrace elitism and Western political culture indeed. This explains India's divisive politics and the alienation of the" ruling classes" from the "working classes"; similar to that in the Anglo-Saxon countries, in particular India's ex- colonial master, the UK. It's unfortunate. Indians are trapped in their British colonial past by its Anglicised educational system.
