contacting the authorities in india does nothing.
@samsung40_media87
absolutely nothing
@MyThoughts19902X
Indian police usually take cyber crime lightly I think. The Indian cyber cell is probably understaffed.
@Cocoa_Kalypso
Some police been have been bought by the scammers. The scammers will get "busted" but they're always back up in running at a new location after about a month.
@Arya-cs7kj
Not when you know whom to contact to. Approaching North Indian police in such cases is not fruitful. B'coz they are corrupt. National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal or designated nodal agencies need to be contacted for swift action.
@GSS_94
Government is like : As long as we get GST we are okay with anything and everything.
No one cares.
@vishnupeketi7596
Everyone cares...not enough to take action.
@er.analysisfacts2998
Biggest problem is data leakage in india , i face every months scam calls.
@mambo5431
how would you react towards an indian person right in front of you in real life? would you instantly assume that they're there with ill intentions
@BenMacdui
A lot of UK companies switched back to UK based call centres because their customers don't want to talk to representatives with Indian accents after being spammed by Indian origin scam calls for the past couple of decades. It has really tainted how the west sees India.
@MaryAnnSweetAngel
Thanks for making this video. I'm tired of negative comments hating the whole country on videos of youtubers exposing scams from India. My dad lost his life savings of 4 lakhs in that malika society housing fund
@cockykookie611
my dad lost 80k in this call scam, thankfully the bank helped us get 40k back, tho we still havent got the other 40k
@polaris1985
Indian government is to be blamed for this, why are they allowing multiple sim cards on one Aadhar card(each person has one unique Aadhar number), government needs to limit sim's on Aadhar to only 2 and you cant change number for 3 years. Also stop selling bulk sims to companies or persons, this needs to be banned.
If this rule is enforced all scams will stop immediately.
@cptninja7890
They already enforced this...few months back...
@rutvikrs
And they will recruit a million people for valid SIMs. All they need is to pay 500 bucks for 5000 numbers at a time.
@Nemisish
There really needs to be some pressure on the Indian government and get them to crack down on this stuff. That should be the focus. Not this petty 'Oh but i have it worse than you' crap. I sympathise, i do, but it solves nothing.
@rutvikrs
Or at the very least, brand these call centers well, Goldman Sachs for instance.
@REPeeet
When the police do nothing about scammers in India it’s created a overwhelming issue where they are able to get away with it or pay off Indian police.
@YuiAdventure
My parents get a lot of these scam call in the states. I tell them do not give any info. If you need anything go to the bank directly and face the customer representative.
@gewglesux
iT'S not a "stereotype" if there is a certain amount of truth is involved.
@roy6907
Reality is majority of stereotypes are backed by statistics, after all most modern stereotypes come from personal interactions.
@tranlenamphuong6192
At this point it’s not a stereotype. It’s just another number.
@MiranaQueen
a stereotype is just a generalized belief abt a group of people so the "amount of truth" doesn't really make a difference... stereotype doesn't mean fake????
@bobbyg1068
It's a stereotype if you use it to make assumptions about all Indian people you meet, it's not a stereotype to observe that there are many callers like this from India if you are getting a lot of scam calls with that accent
@sudhirghosh_
We don't have good cyber security in India, when someone used my photo on dating app and talking with different types of people...
I reached at police station to register complaint but they denied to register a normal GD
@RayEn-kk1nz
My man you are very wrong about that don't loose hope in your country agency man on basis of just few comment ok
Their are many propaganda online man just enjoy the videos
Don't go against the country for foreign acknowledgement
@Suraj-Verma_
I have done a detailed analysis of scam call center. Most of the cell centre are established in those states which doesn't ruled by B.J.P(central government is B.J.P). Ex:-West Bengal, Jharkhand and Punjab.
These scam cell center are protected by state government and Police forces. State government support them because this add economic growth to show other states and police support that for bribe.
@Pixietink
The number of times they call u is so annoying sube se chalu hota hai. now i just dnt answer calls from unknown numbers
@Rough_Estimates
Never have forgotten my experience with Dell customer service
@ITSaPendragon
i just hang up on callers that sound indian even if its 100% legit, sorry but the damage is already done and 9 times out of 10 its a scam
@Wolfspaule
Do they understand that it influences how non-Indian people see India as a whole?
@kushsingh9088
Why all indian should be blame for wrong committed by few Indians, the people need to understand and be aware of the scammer, in era internet new forms of crime has developed and scamming is one of them so people and government should take initiative to educate people
@Rmp1280
They either don’t know or don’t care
@shrutisharma4586
that is precisely how generalisations work. Every perception you have about a country or population is down to your interactions with people from that place. Scammers are a menace and a large proportion of them are based in India. Something needs to be done about it.
@kushsingh9088
Are you really saying that India is primarily known worldwide for scammers, rather than for its diversity, the Taj Mahal, Gandhi, democracy, or its hardworking citizens? I strongly disagree with that statement. We are uated not only by who we are but also by what people say about us. Instead of associating India with scams, I believe that the governments of other countries should educate their citizens about these types of scams.
I am against generalizations. For example, is it fair to perceive every Muslim as a terrorist? No, so why is it acceptable to generalize that every Indian is a scammer?
@Tanno_Buchino
Simply, do NOT answer to these unknown calls. This issue is a global call scam. Not a national. You guys are best having a cellphone than a telephone. Responding to a telephone you don't know who's at the end side cuz it doesn't have a full name and the number can be risky and be easily a scam victim. On the other side, a cellphone CAN provide you the number of the caller without you responding, but it doesn't have the name of the company, which results to a scam, so you immediately reject it.
@Razear
If it sounds too good to be true, it likely is. Anytime someone tries asking you for sensitive financial info over the phone or prompts you to go through a bunch of intricate steps to collect money, it should raise red flags. Seniors are most vulnerable to these ploys and often fall victim to them, but some are so sophisticated that even the brightest among us fall for it.
What's truly sad is how these operations persist without prosecution. These scammers will spend all day trying to look for new targets without feeling an ounce of remorse. But at the same time, I can almost understand why they'd be so motivated to exploit people when they're living in poverty and feel like they have nothing to lose.
Not all Indians are scammers, but a lot of scam calls originate from India. Stereotypes persist because they contain a kernel of truth.
Of course to any law-abiding person, committing fraud isn't justifiable, but the people who do this clearly have no ethical qualms about their conduct. Scamming for a living isn't a sustainable way to survive, so eventually, they'll have to meet the consequences of their actions, whether it be legally or otherwise.
@SuryaMusings
Why don't you let them speak in their mother tongue
@ayush21399
Bcz they are educated and can speak more than one language according to the audience.
@SuryaMusings
@ayush21399 Their speech was really incoherent and frustrating to listen to. I felt like if they had been allowed to speak in their native language, they would have communicated their message much more clearly, like in other videos on the channel. Also, knowing English doesn’t always reflect someone's level of education or intelligence.
@felixsutton
Because they speak english and the channel is an english based channel?
@SuryaMusings
@felixsutton Have you seen any of their previous videos on the channel where they conducted interviews in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Filipino, and Bahasa?
@StrikerSashi
@SuryaMusings People in those countries rarely speak other languages. The level of English in India is significantly higher than East Asian countries.
@SuryaMusings
@StrikerSashi I agree, Indians have a higher proficiency in English than East Asian countries on average. Some of the interviewees were able to get their point across, but others were clearly struggling, like the guy at 5:57
Some were cluttering their sentences with filler words like 'basically', 'actually' 'like' a lot, it was very distracting. They should have been allowed to speak in their mother tongue, as subtitles were provided anyway.
@pulithevar8135
I have this one blocked number who leaves me the same voicemail twice, sometimes three times a day. I've done the silence thing before just to be annoying and didn't know there was a benefit but they always call while I'm at work and not available to pick up the phone and do that. How do I get them to stop? I asked my friend who's works in the cybersecurity branch who said that mf is from China pepelul. It seems like there's been alot of those Since Canada allows alot Chinese and Indians into their country,
@gmajor7278
Why are you talking in English, at least talk in an Indian language
@jammaall7718
They are asked in english. Simple. This interview is probably taken in mumbai. Mumbai is pretty diverse. So almost everyone converse in english because there are high chances that the person I'm talking to doesn't know my native language.
