Another described it as "deeply insulting & deranged."

This person summed up what many across the globe are feeling about this trump post: "actual antichrist shit"

You can bet that if any left wing politician had done anything like this, Laura Ingraham and J. D. Vance would be the first to complain, and Trump would soon step forward to denounce it as a disgrace and offer to take up arms on behalf of all right-thinking Catholics. Except now they cannot do that, because Vance has just told us all that we shouldn’t mind a few jokes about our religion. Trump has made it just that little bit harder for his religious supporters to pretend that he shares any of the values they claim to support. I mean, we all knew that he wasn’t much into compassion and helping your neighbour, but he’s also not into respect for tradition, reverence for the successor of Peter or anything like that. If the conclave were to elect an ultra-conservative Pope whose goal was to restore the Tridentine Liturgy, such a Pope would not be able to treat Donald Trump as potential ally, and Vance’s ability to act as a bridge would be scuppered after his defense of this joke.

I think it is clear from his comments that he understands perfectly well that the next Pope will be one of the cardinals and that he isn’t qualified. I don’t think he’s so deranged as to think he could really be the Pope. But he is like a player who has forgotten which side he is on, and after getting the ball past his own goalie is running up and down the pitch celebrating and is slightly bemused that his team-mates don’t show their usual level of enthusiasm. He enjoys trolling so much that he has forgotten which group he is meant to troll and which group are meant to be his allies. I really think he is in need of help.

My guess is that the only reason they haven't invoked the 25th amendment yet is because they want Vance to be able to run for two full terms. I am guessing January 21, 2027 for 25th amendment day.

First of all he’d have to be a practicing catholic attending mass weekly if not daily, being confirmed, taking confession etc. He’d have to study at a seminary to become a priest be sent to care for a flock within a diocese and he’d then have to be promoted to bishop and on and upward. He’d have to have studied the bible, biblical texts and religious beliefs as well as the changes therein as well as the reasons why these changes came about. He would have to be seen by his contemporaries and supervisors to be very pure and sexually abstinent. No wives, no children, no girlfriends, no boyfriends and no sex . Does this sound like Trump to you?
