I saw this in theaters a couple days ago with a friend. On our way out, we were stopped by two Chinese girls. They asked if we could understand everything, like if the cultural stuff translated. And even though we definitely didn’t know the cultural references, we were never lost or confused. I think it deserves this spot, and should be much bigger in America than it is.

I went in not expecting too much. I saw the first one as well and thought it was at best a serviceable animated film. I don't know how they did it but they made a film that puts most other sequels to shame. It completely surpassed the first film in every aspect by leaps and bounds. The animation quality is just unbelievable. The scale and scope of the things they filled the screen is just blockbuster worthy. The fight scenes were crisp and imaginative and a feast to watch. And the story this time was far more interesting with moments that nearly brought me to tears.
Like Schaff said, this is a film that truly is deserving of the record breaking numbers its achieved. If they did this much with the middle child of the trilogy I can't wait to see what they pull off with the next film.

I saw Ne Zha 2 this week! I was happily surprised by it (as I hadn't seen the first film). The crowd shots were intense! It was interesting to find out afterwards that it involved 4000 animators!

I go to an international school with a large Chinese student population. There was a field trip to see the movie last weekend, I hadn't even heard of it, but all my friends were going. It was so amazing, I didn't even have to have seen the first to sort of get what was going on. Some of the subtitles were a bit weird (there were a couple of grammar errors/spelling mistakes, along with words that just didn't exactly translate) but that's to be expected with any movie. It was honestly one of the best animated movies I've ever seen.

Just wanna share my understanding that why nezha and au bing became friends so rapidly in nezha1. As neither of them has friend, nezha was basically locked at home as requested by the people of the chengtang pass, and aobing, being a loong, need to hide his identity of loong and also carried the hope of his kind to bring his kind out of the deep sea prison, which is very heavy for a kid of his age. The second thing is nezha knows he’s just too strong that always hurts the people that played with him, even his parents; but aobing is the first that’s strong enough and can match him and they can really freely play together.

Just watched it last night in Australia and it was AMAZING! I was worried I'd fall asleep as we watched the 9:30pm session and I'd have to read subtitles, but I was HOOKED and the 2.5hrs just zoomed by. The visuals and storyline were awesome! Can't wait to watch it again!

i watched Nezha 2 five times and it has never let me down. One thing I noticed: Aobing never really smiled much throughout the movie. He was always angry, scared, distressed, or sad. I feel rlly bad for him and his family considering his mother, and 2 brothers all died.

I don't remember who said this, but a good family movie needs to remember that there's not only kids watching a movie but also the adults who are there with them. I guess this movie has something for everyone, kids and adults.

Holy shit, it's been a while since a movie excited me this much while I was watching it. Totally deserving of the high praise and the box office success. It's also one of the few movies that make me feel like 2+ hours is nothing. The twist is pretty good too, I thought I knew exactly what it would be but I was slightly off, which I loved.
