I have a cousin who is working in one of the space startups in India and this kid is prodigy. Dual Masters, PhD and a post-doc and he is still in his 20s. Anyways he is working in one of the project to send satellites to LEO. Reason India hasnt send so many satellites to space for its own even though it has the ability is due to cost and efficiency. Thinking is that govt wants private sector to catch up and innovate so that if ISRO can send a satellite to space at X cost, private players should be able to do it X/3 cost at the very least.

The Indian Space Research Organisation is developing the Next-Generation Reusable Launch Vehicle (NGLV) to enhance its capabilities in deploying heavier payloads and to support future missions, including plans for a space station by 2030-32.
One of the most important features of the NGLV is its ability to carry a much heavier load into space. It can carry up to more than 30 tonnes to Low Earth Orbit (LEO), three times more than India's current LVM3 rocket.

Hahaha. I like the vibes here. Well, as far as affordable and successful space endeavours are concerned, India is doing wonders. End of the day unless you do space missions with much much smaller budget, it wont work for bigger exploration ( Elon musk has deliberated on that many times). India has already sent satellites on the Mars orbit, landed rover on the south pole side of the moon, done L1 point to observe the sun, etc etc with lesser budget than some Marvel or sci-fi movie budget of Hollywood. When we launched our first satellite in 1960s, carrying the payload to launch site on a bicycle, people mocked and made fun of us. Now we are the first Ssian country to reach Mars and first in the world to land on south pole of the moon.

The Space Race was over for India the moment she cheated in year 2013 and 2014 by using America's GPS space navigational system and brags to the entire world that they are the "first Asian country" to reach Mars. India's indigenous space navigational system, NAVIC, was only operational in 2018. The dates do not lie. People do not understand that participants in a "race" or "marathon" are expected to be honest in their conduct and they must run the race based on their own capabilities and without any assistance that might give them an unfair advantage over the other participants. The same logic applies to a "Space Race". This is so embarrassing ��������India has never "reached Mars". All they have ever did was merely a Mars Orbital. There is no Indian Mars Landing/Rovering. China is the real "first Asian country" to reach Mars in year 2021 with their Mars Rovers landing on planet Mars.
