As a Canadian I'm aware that NATO has threatened to kick Canada out.
As Canada hasnt fulfilled its 2% spending in decades. Canada's military has been declining for decades. Canada cant meet most of its obligations.

Encourage Canadians to have more kids. I say free daycare for all.

@hejsan1784  Yeah but if immigrants come and housing is expensive, where will they live? As my professor said, they will literally live on the street. Canadians are having a hard time living in their own country, let alone immigrants.

​ @Wilson-xd4zq thats a lie, if you would know a little bit of french history, you would know that france had already a very strong military at that time and that france was one of NATO's main foundators.
The us did not creat NATO alone, and it is an alliance so everyone has someting to say. France is not like other countrys in NATO wiling to obey every order of USA because unlike germany and england it can fight independantly from the us.

I, for one, believe Macron is right to push for Europe's autonomy. It is true that Europeans are way too dependant on the US and should be investing more on their own militaries.

I agree with you.  Europe SHOULD be autonomous.  The problem is that they don't want to shoulder the responsibility that comes with it.  They want the US to continue to pay the bill for their peace.  They don't want to pay for security and independence.

@niki123489  How Europe turn red? Russia certainly doesn't have the power to take on Europe as a whole, neither does China.
Europe is second only to the US in power, the problem with Europe at the moment is that they rely too much on the US, they should pay for their own forces and bolster their military (which they can do and have the capability to do) but they're far too soft in foreign policy and don't want to get involved a in any conflict.
This is why the UK left the EU. Imagine if the EU and USA both had massive militaries - nobody would dare mess with the west.

His government recently anounced to increase Frances military budget by 30% over the next decade.  Doesnt really seem that naive towards me.  And trust me, Le Pen would be MUCH worse.  Her party has repeatedly recieved financial support from russia and she wants to end all military cooperation with other countries, wich would be devastating for the european defense system and would immensly weaken NATO as well.
