A Big engine is still weaker than a BEV. The only way to make engine more power than electric motors is highly destructive methods where the engine does not survive as long. That's how you build Dragster Race Cars. Still get beaten by a BEV.

I am not sure how that is related to my comment, but just want to point out that China hasn't considered the USA an enemy for a long time. Instead, it's an important customer to China that China has no problem with doing businesses with. It's the US who is decoupling for political reasons.

Sadly as usual our country got duped by the U.S. Our "pro-U.S" senators like Risa Hontiveros won't even explain why the U.S won't help with our fuel and gas problem when she always brags how the U.S is the best partner for our country. Existing contract were even cancelled by U.S suppliers so they can take advantage and raise prices before delivering further, if at all. So much for her so called special relationship.

I am not talking about gas. Cars are just inefficient way of transportation especially for a such populous country. China already have great public transportation as well as ride hailing services. They should really push for more usage of public transit rather than cars, even EVs as they cause congestions, create waste when built and disposed, etc...

Public transit does not need to be pushed in China. The vast majority do utilize it. Its fast, clean, punctual and cheap as borscht. They have the best public transit systems in the world.
