Not really no. These vehicles are really light and can only seat a few people. Ambulances ride around with a bunch of equipment, the driver, paramedics and the patient. Firefighting vehicles require the firefighting crew, driver, equipment and of course the water/lifts/platforms. They are very impractical for such things. By the time you factor in how much weight those vehicles require, you're already at Heli status or over. AT best, they're just able to fly in 1 or 2 experts/professionals in for an operation at a location. That's saying IF their prep time is lower than a helicopter or private plane and they're already in an easy to access place. Police maybe though. Though I think they'd be better served by drones. Big problem is you'd still need a landing area and police vehicles are already a target when coming in, a flying car is an even much bigger target.

I’m sorry just cause you have some software that does most of the flying for you doesn’t make it any less dangerous. A drone is one thing but people in the drone is another what happens if one of the motors quits in flight now you have unequal thrust on a vertical landing aircraft. Flying isn’t like driving you cannot just pull over.

Not enough helicopters, way more expensive, way more setup required. This could mean that many deaths would be prevented by being able to fly to isolated areas, or during times with frozen roads.

That actually IS a great idea! I can already tell this thing is way cheaper than an ordinary helicopter which requires a skilled (expensive) crew to operate and a helicopter that can cost tens of millions of dollars and expensive fuel and maintenance.

LMao to the ppl who are saying this can be used by fire fighters.. Do you people realize how enormous and heavy it would have to be in order for it be suitable for firefighting. This thing wouldn't even work for ems. It's too small and slow. It's got batteries so theyd have to charge it constantly, which takes time and is extremely inconvenient when your job is to respond to emergencies that occur at any time, and the range would be affected by cold temperatures as well. Best case scenario it can serve as a tool for ems to use in very specific cases, not as a replacement to regular ambulances

in Australia helicopters are used to herd cattle. they are not that hard to get, they can come in very cheap small builds and they are much safer than drones. only advantage drone has over helicopter is it is easier to pilot, however, it is also much less safe. so it is ok for unmanned drone, it is absolutely not ok for a vehicle with people inside.

There's alot of use cases like firefighting for sky scrapers or having large drones in the future that can fight serious bushfires as climate change increases risks. China has an ageing society so in the future AI and robotics could allow one doctor to have hundreds of assistants. Technology doesn't have to be scary if it is used to advance humanity rather than profit. Technology is only a projection of ourselves. If we use to control and harm others then it's bad but if it's used to help the environment and improve the quality of life then it's beneficial. This is the choice humans will have to make.

Well, i;ve done a fair bit of actual piloting of both drones and planes....drone tech can mitigate flight complexity fairly well. However, drones with humans in them won't be effective until they can deal with the limited range via battery tech.....which seems to be stalled.

I would want to know about the redundancy capability. i.e. motor failure, battery failure etc... separate smart power controllers etc..., separate battery modules, separate wiring, auto failure recovery landing modes, etc... Otherwise it's a glorified Flying Salami Slicer, little more.
