The way these folks talk about China and Russia as pons baffle me.
These are countries... independent countries. They would news a TOTAL group lobotomy of the mind for the US to divide RUS & CN. They have much more culturally, economically historically to even care.
That said, they will both (if America choses though unlikely) work with America economically. Russia will be open to it nasmuch as that does not scandalise their relations with China.
Trump and the US Gov t should behave like they are smart.
This kind of rhetoric shows the HUBRIS and blind entitlement in the West and American societies at large.

There is a massive disconnect between the ruling class and average people, who like people everywhere, want to have decent, peaceful lives for their families.

Alliances don't actually exist, neither does ideology. Only national interests. Turkey despises NATO, while CSTO have Armenia vs Azerbaijan.
Both Turkey and Azerbaijan have consistently undermine both American and Russian interests consistently. Funding enemies against Kurds and Syrians.
BRICS is a economical alliance, not a military one. None of those countries like each other, especially India and China.
Turkey has a ancient rivalry against Europe, lasting to this day even since taking Istanbul(Constantinople), while Vietnam is thr same against China, another thousand year rivalry.
And there is also the Taliban, a former American Ally. They betrayed Pakistan and Iran recently. Who's to say they won't betray China next?

An economic alliance lays a foundation for a military alliance. Germany France and England hated each other for centuries. But during the time of European expansion and colonialism they set aside their differences and all participated in the Bismarck conference where their interests were best served by carving up the African continent and agreeing on who gets to control certain areas in Africa for their specific nations economic benefit, the reality of this Economic benefit led to the need for military force to be used to protect their economic benefit.
BRICS Dont feel all that different to what the European nations were doing during the time of German Chancellor Bismark.

Shouldve never had a relationship with them to begin with. Exporting all of our manufacturing has led to this attempt at wedging because no one else was going to do it up until Biden followed up on Trumps EV tax by making it 100%. It's not just the Republicans who see them as a dominant force. It's bipartisan and this goal should be appropriate for our country. I hope the US can hold up.

Russia does not need to divide anything or anyone, because the USA has long been fed up with the EU and has been trying to break its economic power, now they have achieved their goal and will only use the EU.
There is no eye level anymore.
And there is great division in the EU itself because many states have long been dissatisfied with developments, including EU citizens.

The history is all there to learn but most of the public lacks respect for history.

US neocon policy joined Russia and China at the hip and there no seperating them now, Russia is done with trying to fit in with Europe, they tried it for decades and always had their efforts thrown back in their face. China knows if Russia falls they are next up in the crosshairs so they will support Russia with everything they have even militarily.
