The professor's laughter says everything. Not mocking but amused about US and their perceived strengths. He calls it naive. America respects "strength" like the fastest gunman on the draw. But China plays by a different rule. No draw. The gun is a machine gun, already drawn, pointed and ready to fire.

I have always been baffled by the US Taiwan policy. Officially we have this One China policy which means Taiwan is considered part of the Mainland; yet every politician acts like this is not the case at all.

The hope is if the mainland collapses due to this war, then there Taiwanese with US assistance can take back over the mainland and become Republic of China once again fully influenced by the US like a gigantic Japan.
