This is typical Trump behaviour, we know this by know. The more you give the more he thinks he can take, and as soon as you resist he backs down. This deal has been discussed between India and European unx for DECADES but both parties had a lot of issues and disagreements, but since both India and EU got hit by US it made both of them bury the hatchet and make this deal done, and it was done super quick! it's very good deal that makes our economies a lot safer and allows us to not be so scared of US threats anymore. I can see why he’s disappointed. The plan of the Trump administration was to use tariffs to blackmail nations to move business and work to US in a way that mostly benefit US (and away from China etc). But for a year now they’ve done nothing but bullied and threatened other nations, broke promises, ever changing tariffs, brought extra costs to trading partners, meddling in other lands politics including invasion and threatened of invasion, etc etc. And they’ve so far managed to make how many deals? 2 Of course those countries make deals elsewhere without the US. Why sit and wait for a bad deal with a bully that bever come?? And of course they have to be disappointed that everyone could figure out this would happen but them.
A self isolated US under the Trump administration will just continue its economical downfall. I can’t see they will ever turn this around once the power shift is passed, and that’s happening now..

These idiots are in for a lot of disappointment indeed. Their ignorance and arrogance are going to be the catalyst to get global trade to shift away from the US, as much as possible. They are forcing countries to create relationships, trade deals, cultural exchanges. Once you set this in motion, it doesn’t just go away. People who weren’t talking to each other before but are now, business relationships that exist now but didn’t just months ago, they will largely remain.

One can legitimately despise Bessent but what he says is: India is an important customer of sanctioned russian oil, the US have retaliated against India through tariffs, while the EU, instead of doing so, is making a trade deal with India. He even says that some european countries buy refined products from India made from russian crude oil, thus funding the war against themselves.
Among all the shit the Trump administration is saying on a daily basis, this is by far one of the least problematic I would say. And among all the actions this administration made related to Putin and Russia, I would say the US sanctions against Lukoil and Rosneft, and the tariffs against India, are by far the least problematic.
But again, I guess it’s difficult to understand when one is not reading the articles

So, we walk up to our friends, and for no reason, start kicking them in the nuts.
