suspension bridges, like everything else it works until it doesnt. China sure ia an architects dream with all the risky projects they are undertaking.

@AndikaKhairilAkbar
@yam2050 The Golden Gate Bridge was built in 4 years and was very risky, so this bridge was built in 4 years..

@I'm sure China will build an even higher bridge next year. .

@Adestrib

Truly AMAZING, Fred!! I thought my working on the pile caps of the piles supporting the road-deck across 3 miles of river in the rebuild of the Tappan Zee bridge spanning the Hudson River in NY State was a 'big deal'. This on a whole other level. Truly a 'Breakneck' project & engineering achievement!!

@Adestrib

According to Wikipedia, there are 83 bridges in the world with heights of more than 250 meters. 75 of them are in China.
One of them is Huajiang Canyon Bridge the world's highest bridge, measuring 625 metres (2,051 ft) from the bridge deck to the bottom of the gorge.
And there are 25 bridges with a height of over 250 meters under construction in China.

@vexusdesu6272
What's wrong with you..

@gonelucid
Would not trust that bridge

@timjolly9998
That is wild

@jarvisjohns
Like bears to honey you don't say...

@Robespierre-IIFred, you need to stop being so damn pretty. I had to watch the whole video again after I realized I hadn't heard a word you said.

The Himalaya mountain range is Not the oldest with a age between 20 to 40 miljoen years. Tray the Japanese mountain range with 2.6 miljoen years

@K-Man-k5n
Why China built a bridge through a mountain? - To get to the other side.

@juliane__
2:43 When you just chose the worst option available. A crime against nature.

@sepg5084
@TheB1M so, why did they split a mountain to build a bridge instead of just tunneling through the mountain?

@JoeyBlogs007
However based on a major study reviewing public media reports, apparently China experienced over 300 bridge collapses between 2000 and 2014. This averages out to about 20 bridge collapses per year. This means, on average, a bridge failure occurred every 18 days. The issue remains significant due to the often cited cause; poor construction and design.

@BH-2
@JoeyBlogs007 "20 bridges" not "20 bridges"

@georgewu7233
USD300m is insanely cheap for something like this

@Sovereign_Citizen_LEO
I was thinking to myself, that if this was in the USA, it would cost 20 Billion probably (and Europe the same or more).

@deltaboy2011
@Sovereign_Citizen_LEO more like 2 trillion and about 50 years to complete.

@Sovereign_Citizen_LEO 更可能是 2 万亿美元,且耗时约 50 年才能完工。

@lukeecle117
@Sovereign_Citizen_LEO if this was in the USA, it would cost 20 Billion and take 15 years probably

@AndreVanKammen
@Sovereign_Citizen_LEO Millau Viaduct in France (about half the height and 60% longer) had a construction cost of 394 milion in 2001. So I guess it would be around 1 billion or more now in Europe.

@Regal-Black
It would take 10 Billion in the USA and 10 years to complete

@eraserflying760
@Regal-Black In the US, it is going to take 10 billion and complete nothing just like the California high speped rail

@BojackHorseman0098
Kitchen renovations almost always go over budget. When an infrastructure project is completed on time or at it's budget it's a marvel just for that fact

@WalkOverHotCoal
Yes, comparatively cheap if you are to line it up against some western infrastructure projects. Many are over budget, ran over time.

@solarsoul34557
300,000,000 is roughly 10 meters of such construction in my country

@SwatiBornGirl
In my country Swaziland it would also collapse within one year of construction

@CompleteDiscreteWolf
Your country probably makes newer cable stayed designed bridges, which require a lot of hard work and absolutely precise computer designs

My mother’s family is from Guizhou, and when I was little, about 30 years ago, we traveled there every year for Chinese New Year. The journey began with a flight to the provincial capital, Guiyang, where my grandfather would meet us and drive us back to his city, Liupanshui. Back then, that drive took an entire day along winding mountain roads. We would land at the airport in the morning and only arrive late at night, assuming everything went according to plan and the, at the time, quite new ’90s Land Cruiser didn’t break down. Yes, you heard that right, we had to hope the Land Cruiser would survive the trip, because the roads were that rough.
Today, things are completely different. Modern motorways stretch across endless mountain peaks, connected by massive bridges, and the same drive now takes only about three hours even in a $500 scrap yard car.

@CRneu
This is really cool. I bet seeing that amount of progress in your lifetime is an amazing thing to be able to witness. You should be proud of the progress China has made.

@jie-n8j

@Luke_0918

@mosalethoba5267
You guys have got the most effective government in the whole world.

@kasikwagoma6740
@mosalethoba5267 you are spot on.

@jedychen1578
@mosalethoba5267 But on the other side, We Chinese are worring about most effective government one make a big bad decision, that would be catastrophy.We need more serious and cautious about that.

I'm from Shanghai but my wife is from Anhui, Huangshan, so a mountain girl. Our daughter has been playing on mountains and bridges since she was sally we plan to visit this bridge next Sumer holiday.

Guizhou was once one of China's poorest provinces. But this has changed dramatically since the construction of roads and bridges, which have boosted Guizhou's economic growth.

@Jakey4000
China genuinely seems to be doing something special, I hope to visit China one day soon! Chinese tourists are very common in NZ, which has brought along plenty of incredible stores to buy authentic Chinese ingredients from and amazing people to talk to and learn from!

@KaratedudeYT
The view from the river makes this really impressive. The scale of the height from there is crazy!

@TomLuTon
I've been over the New River Gorge Bridge in WV, that is 267 m high. That's about 40% the height of the Huajiang Canyon bridge

@Asgard-vdS
If you turn around from the start of the bridge you see the slums they don't show you in the photo ops.

@fanthomans2
It's hard to decide which one is more magnificent: the river's view from the bridge or the bridge's view from the river?

@rbokhoree
I'll have both.

@keel23333

@rebeltheharem7028
I'd take the bridge's view from the river. The opposite would just give me vertigo.

@zancetto6452

@sanji2158
River's view from the bridge for sure.
I would hate it if i lived in that beautiful rural village and suddenly i had to watch that ugly structure every day above my head.
Ask yourself, if you lived in a beautiful valley, would you randomly wish for a massive bridge to be built to obscruct your view and serene environment? ofcourse not.
It might be cool for approximately 10 minutes for a tourist though.

@wan3349
@sanji2158 you’re not even the locals there so yeah

@151682490
