Do ship crews engage citizens' militia sharpshooters to snipe at 'enemy' icebreakers? The US currently has only ONE icebreaking vessel capable of full time duty in establishing and maintaining shipping routes in arctic ice, and the last time I checked (5 months ago), it was berthed in Washington state. A second vessel is currently capable of backup (maintaining but not opening) arctic shipping routes. The other two vessels are too small and weak for polar ice breaking.
Russia has more leading class icebreaking vessels than any other nation, out of necessity. China is far and away the world's leading shipbuilder, with South Korea and Japan in distant second and third place.
Private firearms are irrelevant in polar shipping; airborne weaponry obviates your phallic weaponry fantasies and obsessions. Even Finland and Norway don't approach the size and capacities of Russia's icebreaker fleet. Duuuhhh...
