A heartbroken widow is “grieving again” after learning that the ashes she used to make jewelry to honor her late husband may not belong to him — and that authorities are investigating the northern England funeral home that handled his services.

The possible mixup occurred at Legacy Independent Funeral Directors in Hull, England, where authorities on Tuesday confirmed they had recovered the bodies of 35 deceased people between March 8 and 9 following reports of “concern for the care of the deceased.”

Humberside Police on Tuesday confirmed they had recovered the bodies of 35 deceased individuals from the funeral home, with formal identification yet to take place.

Assistant Chief Constable Thom McLoughlin said authorities found a “quantity of what we suspect to be human ashes” at the business.
