You need to see that even if India's per capita income is 2000 odd dollars but India's domestic economy is such that cost of living is 200 USD (just an example) then that makes Indians survive much better than most European nations and US citizens where per capita income is 40,000 USD but cost of living is also 35,000 USD (again, just an example to make my point - these aren't absolute numbers). The reason that European and Americans are rich is because of the autonomy that they wield via USD and Euro on global currencies and financial systems which allows them quantitative easing as and when they please and transfer their inflation to the world from their domestic economies.

Ya, cuz for obvious reasons. All the countries with higher gdp per capita have either a) A more manageable population, which allows them to focus more on development and infrastructure, while also having a sizable workforce, b) embraced free market much, much earlier allowing the compounding effect of gdp growth, c) A history of slave trade which was IMMENSELY profitable and caused a lot of GDP growth.
India only recently freed up it's market, and already the quality of life has increased DRASTICALLY. We still have a long way to go, but the compounding effect of growth will allow us to increase our gdp per capita really fast in 15 years. Till then, all we can do is to keep the country open to more investment, invest in infra, education, healthcare, and have enough money in reserve to prevent any economic shocks from affecting us drastically.
China had a gdp similar to ours around 2005. While we wont be growing NEARLY as fast as China, as that is literally impossible for a democratic govt to do, that should allow you to understand that once you get the ball of investment rolling, and get more jobs into manufacturing, you will automatically see the INSANE speed at which countries grow.

What are you on about? India and China were almost same sized economies in the 1980 and now look at where we stand. You can come with 10 different excuses but the fact is we will still be making excuses 15-20-100 years from now. The only difference between a developed country and a developing or a third world country is its people. Amd we as people have regressed since 2014 and if at all we are able to get rid of this godforsaken govenment in 2024, it will take us atleast another half a decade to reverse the damage and come back to where we were in 2014.
All this while the world is making massive strides in conqueing generalised intelligence, massive disruptions such as EV's happening and i'd say we are done. We have no hope of catching up to anyone. We have wasted almost a decade which in a world which moves fast is suicide.

One of the guys in his team wasnt cuz he lives in India making only ~6k/yr. Why pay someone 60k in the usa when you can pay someone else india 1/10th of that doing the same thing.
