As India becomes the world’s most populous country and demand for workers rise, its number of working-age women in the workplace is among the world’s lowest. Several women share their experiences of losing, or fighting to keep, their jobs, as they are told to stay at home to take care of children instead of pursuing higher education and working.

@MaggieOnline well i dont disagree with you , but the same thing happens to men aswell after marriage they come to know true colors of wife and then after children are born it becomes imposible for divorce . My point is simple we need to talk about both genders only then we can realize that these situations are individual in nature and stereotyping harms both men and women.

They still gonna continue having their conservative mindset, rituals no matter what and if not followed there will be so called *disrespect *. Alot of time we think that the foreign powers are our enemies who are stopping us from growing but most of the times the enemies are not others but we ourselves.

It actually depends on the State. Conservative states, most of which are hindu, have lower female workforce participation. But in more liberal states, like Kerala, which is a mostly Christian state, the female workforce participation is almost equal to men.

What religion has to do with women workforce. You guys converted hindu people into Christianity by giving money, houses and now blaming hindu for low women work force. BTW there is not only hindu but Muslim, jainism etc also are there. And I don't think indian christian are that liberal. So don't drag religion.
