What makes me happy is making other people happy.
Smile at people walking down the street that look like they’re having a rough day.
Telling woman they look beautiful, and men that they look handsome.
Helping people with whatever they need, even if it costs me a lot of time.
If I make someone laugh, or at least smile, it makes me feel like i’ve accomplished something and made the world a little less harsh.
It’s the small things that matter the most, telling someone they look good or taking time out of your day to talk to someone who’s lonely. This could literally mean the difference between life and death.
I got this from my sister, she was best friends with a guy she barely even knew. One night he was planning on killing himself, even had his suicide note written. She stopped by his house, not knowing he was planning on committing suicide, and talked to him. They talked about school and how things were. After she left, he chose to live and stop letting the world get to him.
Sure if you’re nice, people may try to take advantage of you, but that’s not as bad as knowing that you could have saved someone who chose to kill their self.
Being nice is probably the best thing you could do in this planet full of bitterness.
Give compliments regularly, and be respected.

I recently started working. I moved to a new city, started living alone. Making money to get by!
I saved a little each month out of my first few salaries. Bought my mum a new smartphone, and my dad a new set of stereo speakers for his laptop that he was wanting to buy for quite sometime now.
I had gone home on Diwali, where I handed these presents to them in person. I felt something that I had not all my life. There was a sense of immense joy and pride on their faces even before the could unwrap their gifts.
They were just so happy at the fact that their son, whom they brought up with so much love, care and support had put them at the top of his priority list when it came to spending the money he made.
That moment has been etched in my heart forever.
I experience this each time I buy them a present. They never expect anything in return for all that they have done for me, but every now and then when I do give them something back, the rush you get while they are opening their presents makes me happy.
This is a kind of happiness that is unparalleled to any other feeling I would every have in my life.
最近我开始工作了。我搬到了一个新城市，开始独自生活。挣钱糊口！
我从我的前几个薪水中每月省下一点钱。给我妈妈买了一部新的智能手机，给我爸爸买了一套新的立体声扬声器，这是他一直想要购买的电脑配件。

The real happiness can only be found in the ability of things we are accepting and experiencing . Actual happiness may differ for varied persons but truely its in the little moments which can bring smile to us ,though it may seem a trivial matter but observing dear ones happy ,spending some time with someone who you always craved , listening music ,travelling amidst nature ,helping someone needy ,gaining success after a lot of hard-work are all just the perfect symptoms for actual happiness .

So many good answers =} I’ve thought about this a lot, because for me they were a few contenders…
a) my partner (Nauseating. Also, lets be realistic here, he sometimes drives me up the wall. Not often, but enough to get him disqualified ;-} So, not my partner.)
b) sunshine (although, if I’m honest, when I lived in Greece, sunshine didn’t always make me happy. It does now, because I live in England, and it’s sunny about two hours a year. But when I lived in Greece, sunshine mostly made me lethargic and a bit useless. So, not sunshine.)
c) my dogs (but then, sometimes they make me sad. Well, on one occasion. So anyway, not the dogs.)
So I fretted. There must be something that never fails to make me happy? 78 people have things that never fail to make them happy… Some people nominate more than one thing! Surely I have something that never fails to make me happy too!

Well , its a little bit silly answer but it really makes me happy.
Whenever i sleep, its usually between 12 am and 1 am. Because i have to wake-up upto 9 am maximum. So here it goes
1 am sleeping..
2 am sleeping…
3 am sleeping

6 am …. Woke up somehow and then just saw the time … well yeah its 6 am that means i have 3 more hours to sleep .
Goes back to sleep (feeling out of the world).

Happiness comes from within, we have heard about it.But there are few sights that enchant you with happjness:
The playful childlike gleam in my mother’s eye looking outside the airport glasses, seeing the flights take off and land , just waiting for the moment to fly in this huge bird for the first time..!
2. A beautiful cloudy morning with thundering and rain splattering on my window, waking me up. Realizing glancing on the watch, there is still some time to get ready.Now I pull over the blanket to get few minutes of coziness, complemented by a warm cup of coffee and my favourite book.
3. My cooking results into a wonderful dish, inspite of inexperience. After how I burn my fingers, spilled and scattered the kitchen, all efforts paid well with appreciation.
4. Meeting a boy in the freshers audition in first year of college.Hosting the freshers function with him.Turning back and stealing glances of him , when he is with his freinds walking to college.Getting official approval from parents . Freindship blooming from love to marriage.
5. Smile of your soulmate. His smile works wonders for me . No matter how much worried or angry I may be, one soothing smile and I melt away into calmness.
6. When you try to get a baby in your arms, you know he may refuse but to your surprise he opens up his little hands towards you and hops into your arms . Reluctant in leaving you, no matter whoever asks.
There are so many moments in a day with a promisable opportunity of making one happy . Just try to find happiness in each and every moment of your life..!!!!!!

My favourite Cadbury’s Fruit and Nut Chocolate Bar. I know this sounds a bit far fetched, but it the honest truth. I do not eat loads of it. Just 4 small squares will suffice, but at such times as I am a little anxious, or a bit upset, or maybe mulling over a certain incident that has just happened and unsettled me, that is all I need to absolutely change my mood into one of carefree abandonment.
My Cadbury’s bar to me I would suggest is what alcohol, cigarettes, drugs and other stimulants are to some.
Many years ago before cigarette advertising was banned on TV in 1999 there was a very famous advert in the UK that said ‘Happiness is a Cigar Called Hamlet’. The voice over was read over the theme of Bach’s Air on a G-string. A fabulous piece of classical music for those that have not heard it.
Oh my word. This and my four little chocolate bars are absolutely happiness personified.

I’m a resident assistant (RA), meaning I work with students living in university housing. I currently work with first-year students who have just taken the leap into college. They all come from diverse backgrounds. A good number of them are actually older than I am so it always makes me really excited to see them get along with one another. So what makes me happy? Pleasant surprises.

At 17, i wanted to stop studying after finishing high school and join the Armed forces, aiming to join Royal Canadian Mounted Police after. But it would have been a risky track, since it's pretty hard to join the RCMP.
At the same time, my father got diagnosed with lung cancer (generalized), and he convinced me to continue studying. All he wanted me to do was to give it a try before joining Armed forces. Since his father had died of the same illness, he didn't want to suffer the same pain as his father. To make sure I would continue studying, he accepted to be treated to live a bit longer. Where I live, there's a 2 year time where you chose if you want to do pure sciences or human sciences, before going to university. He died at the beginning of that first year (it's been 3 years now), but i kept studying after that event.
Right now, I am finishing my second year in Electrical engineering, and had a lot of very hard time. When I think about what he did for me, I imagine how proud he would be to see me where I am right now. And THAT makes me happy, you have no idea how!

Riding my activa, yep I will be lost in driving and start relating life with driving and I feel like a philosopher for sometime then I will come out of that thoughts.

I learn a word or a sentence of Chinese everyday. And I celebrate that.
I read at least few pages of a book or spend time on quora to learn through people's experiences.
I always smile at strangers. It's weird sometimes that they don't smile back. But few do.
I love my wife and she makes me happy by listening to all my crazy ideas. She doesn't remember all of it but she listens carefully.
Celebrate all that comes your way. You can't be happy for one thing all the time. Learn and learn and learn. You are just a tiny part of this big world.

This morning I woke up and groggily went downstairs to find my dog, Snowball, wagging her tail walking towards me. “Good morning baby!”
I walked into the kitchen to find 5 beautifully ripe avocados on the table waiting for me. Avocados are my FAVORITE.
As I open the front door to leave for school I FEEL the sun on my back. It was a 70 degree day on a 60 degree week.
On my way to the train I SMELL the flowers blooming. I SEE cherry blossoms, tulips, magnolias. The grass is bright green and no longer gray from the winter months.
I actually make it to school on time…for once.
That makes me happy.

1: Food- I am number one Bhukkhad (Foodie). My mood varies as per the food I get. I can travel a miles to get a best cup of tea, let alone other things.
2:Friends- It doesn't matter how my mood is, the moment we all meet, we forget everything.
3: Music- I like to listen musics. Sometimes to soothe my mind and sometimes to gives it the boost.
Bollywood, Hollywood, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi (BHOJPURI and Punjabi When I don't know how to dance and yet have to dance) and coke studio.
4: My parent's belief- when my parents say, I know you can do it or Don't worry Dheeraj can do it. This means alot coz as per them I am the most distorted/irresponsible person in the whole family.

6: TV series- If I get time, I watch TV series a lot. I prefer TV series over any movies ( if I have time to finish the season).
7: Talking and roaming- I can't sit at one place. I'll always be moving and talking. That's my biggest weakness or bad habit (as per my family).
8: A trip - A trip to any place. Goa is something which hasn't been completed yet. I don't know how but it get cancelled every time.
9: Unknown call/message- whenever I get calls from wrong number, I always continue the talk pretending to be that person and then at last apologize and tell that it's a wrong number.
I have made friends or had best conversation, an old ladies talk somehow turned aggressive once.
睡觉——如果有人让我在早上6-7-9点的时间段里睡觉，我会感到非常快乐，祝福那个人身体健康。

电视剧——如果我有时间，我会看很多电视剧。如果我有时间看完整个季节，我会选择电视剧而不是任何电影。
交谈和漫步——我不能坐在一个地方不动。我总是在移动和交谈。这是我最大的弱点或坏习惯（家人说的）。
旅行——去任何地方旅行。去果阿是一件尚未完成的事情。我不知道为什么，每次都会取消。
未知的电话/短信——每当我接到一个错号电话，我总是装成那个人继续聊天，然后最后道歉并告诉对方是个错号。
有时我会交到朋友，或者和一个老太太的谈话最终变得很激烈。
