According to Indian media reports, the 2021 Global Hunger Index ("GHI") ranking shows that India ranks 101st out of 116 countries, belonging to the ranks of "severely hungry" countries. Compared with last year's 94th place, India's performance this year is even worse. In this year's rankings, India's neighbors Pakistan (92nd), Bangladesh (76th), Nepal (76th) and Myanmar (71st) all fared significantly better than India.

This is Calculated by GDP Purchasing power parity(PPP) instead of by nominal. Of course China is ranked #1 for PPP, but USA is still #1 for GDP by nominal. However, as a Chinese who spent 4 years studying in the US. I think that the life quality of average Chinese people is even worse than the life quality of Malaysian(because I also stayed there for a month). Only about about 50% of restaurants are willing to turn on AC during summer when the temperature is above 37 degree celsius (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit) in my city, that is an example.
