I am a Singaporean and I never saw a crime although I have heard of there being crimes. It is also doing quite well against COVID-19 as almost everyone in Singapore follows the laws.

I'm American, and I think I have seen only 2 crimes in my lifetime. I mean like shoplifting or something like that, nothing violent.

I haven’t seen any crimes in NZ, although there was that one terrorist attack from a foreigner killed ~50 people in a mosque and that was all over the news. Considering its population of 125mil people, I think it's amazing how Japan could be #9 in this list because if we look closely of all those countries in the top 10 list, all of them has population less than 15mil (except Canada with 35mil population). We could argue that it's much harder to create a safe society in populous country (>100mil such as USA, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, India, etc.). So hats off to Japan.

Actually..i live in Singapore. My sister told me that Singapore doesn't really ban chewing gum. Since Singapore is near malaysia/ don't need to take a plane, it's easy to get bubblegum in malaysia and bringing it back to Singapore. And i also have bubblegum in my house hehe..

Canada in general is safe but recently the west coast had seen a lot of crime and homelessness. There are a lot of drug related violence.
