I lived in both countries, and I think both countries are amazing. Its difficult to choose one. I think Australia is more developed but Canada is more tolerant with inmigrants.

@Co Jo Indian economy is larger than Swiss economy. So it doesn’t mean that India is more developed than Switzerland. And Australia usually appear in higher position than Canada in list of countries with most quality live

Most of us Aussies are pretty tolerant to immigrants, it's only a few loudmouths who aren't (Pauline Hansen, we're looking straight at you) and unfortunately people think we're all like that. you're right - Australia needs more work to welcome migrants. My wife has had a hard time getting a job and has experienced open discrimination. And she is European! (But continental, not British).

@Co Jo I live in Australia, and I lived in soo many countries(mostly Europe). Australia is the less developed than any country in Europe and this includes eastern Europe as well. It's just lucky country with resources backed by USA.

@ infrastructure in this country is very poor. Economy is heavily dependent on mining and construction services. Remove both and there is nothing else. Health sector is terrible. Doctors have no idea what they are doing ( they are googling the solution in front of you, not kidding). Banking sector is very poor despite the fact that it categorized as developed country. The country switched to cashless payments just 2-3 years ago ( I was shocked by this fact, where I never used cash in Europe, I did not carry a wallet at all, mobile payment was everywhere)

@Muslum Baghirli I don’t know but it seems like that’s your personal experiences. Based on my own experience infrastructure is fine here in Melbourne, it’s walking and biking infrastructure for pedestrians aren’t as good as Europe’s but it’s also not as bad as the US. As for doctors, I’ve never had any issues with anything, so I also think that’s just your own personal issues. Also cashless payment is depending on the business if they accept this payment way, not the ‘country’. Also considering how young Australia is compared to European countries our average income per capita is already far better than most European countries while not having major inequity issues from wealth distribution.

I’m Aussie but I’ve always wanted to visit Canada! I’ve always had an interest in the country because of its similarities to Aus but polar opposite climate. I’m not sure how I’d go handling the cold since I’m from Queensland haha, but the cold and the fall season and snow, is all honestly so fascinating and attractive to me! We don’t get winters like that here, so I really hope to one day experience Canada for all it has to offer! If I got the chance to live there short-term I would in a heartbeat, but Australia will always be home.

@Etienne Dumont a bus driver in Australia starts on 60K a year and they usually earn around 80K. An average 23year old plumber who has completed their apprenticeship is earning $75K for their first year and that's working for someone. More if they go out into business on their own.

@Etienne Dumont I am not sure where doctors are paid $60,000 a year unless you mean graduates. The average doctor earns $100,000 a year, and potentially earns more as their experience increases.

I've lived in canada my entire life, visited Australia a few times. The weather is a big deal! here in Canada we get 6 month of winter, this is what makes most Canadians introverted, you rarely meet people. From my experience Australians are muchhh happier and outgoing + your near southeast Asia!

I love to live in Canada due to the four distinct seasons, especially winter. Also the diversity of population is staggering. In my street, which has only 8 houses, there are 14 different nationalities.
