I truely feel for you as I have endured extreme climatic conditions in Africa, Brazil, China and Mongolia. -40C to +45C. At extreme lows, I felt like crying and at the other end of the scale my, FN - LMG ammo-belt & wrist-watch burnt blisters on my neck & wrist. If left in the sun for just a few minutes, weapons, grenades, ammuntion & vehicle bodies were far too hot to touch. Do whatever it takes to protect your bodies from sun damage and be very aware of dehydration. DO NOT wait until you are thirsty before drinking water. Lots of it.

Broke the all time record here in western Canada last year with 49.6c with terrible fires but this year is quite different, much cooler and wetter summer and was an unusually wet and cold spring which led to a very high lingering snowpack.

Exactly. It depends on what you're acclimated to. I'm from Las Vegas, so I'm fine in dry, triple-digit summer heat. It's not the most comfortable, but I never felt like I was in danger. Someone in a cold, rainy area will not have the same reaction to 105 degrees with no A/C and vice versa. My biggest concern is the unpredictability of it all... Like the PNW's heat wave last year or Seattle's "once in a century" snowstorm occurring 2 years in a row (is it 3 now?). We can't reliably predict anything and that's what's scary.

I live in the Arctic, and these past 15 years I seen the worst of climate change, 20 degrees used to be rarity here but then just 10 years ago, it became a norm, then we had 23 - 25 then 30, we had freak weather occurring more often, the worst thing I ever saw was 25 degrees celsius in NEW YEARS EVE, we did not have snow until END of February, it was the worst thing I ever experienced.

That's normal when the sun cools because of it magnetic weakening. The interior of north america gets seriously cold all the way to florida, texas and mexico. The jet stream moves from it's normal position which means cold in Alaska and greenland.

Sorry, but that is NOT "Normal" even in New York City and definitely NOT in the Arctic!
