A public library in a nearby town.
My son taught himself to read. When he was 4 or 5 he wanted,
"20,000 leagues under the sea" after I explained about captain Nemo and his adventures.
He put this book on the counter and the librarian had said,
"Come on sweet heart let's find a book from the children's section"
My son said no thank you. He wanted the book he chose and knew I would check it out for him.
The librarian laughed and said
"Sweet heart what will you do with a book you can't read?"
My son was in tears and didn't know what to say. I told the woman that my son may have this book and to please check it out.
The woman said she wouldn't do it because she didn't want to provide a book too old that a child couldn't understand.
I was angry.
I told her to never, not ever, tell a child they can't read something. Especially one of my children. She would discourage them from reading, becoming smart, and should not work among books or children.
My son and I had to find another library and I bought him the book and some ice cream for his hurt feelings. .

I only know some of the story, but he was with the SAS at the time and they were in Texas, near the Mexican border. He and his fellow soldiers got rather inebriated, and he got hungry and wandered off. The others panicked and believed he had been kidnapped. They called it in, and a search helicopter arrived to look for him. The Mexican authorities responded to this by sending armed officers towards the border. The Americans were never going to accept this sort of threat so pretty soon there were British and American soldiers in a standoff with Mexican police, across the border. So the reason we never went on holiday to the good old USA is because my dad got drunk, went to Burger King, and got a lifetime ban from the land of the free.

It was the day of Diwali.
I was learning to ride a motorcycle. I took my younger cousin along for a ride. I saw a couple of pigs busy in love making in middle of a road. Respecting their right to privacy, I chose not to honk and immediately took a turn.
Suddenly, I saw a bullock cart coming from other side. I panicked a lot but my cousin showed full faith in me.
He had already jumped. I could have jumped too.
It's just that I didn't feel like leaving the motorcycle in midst of difficult circumstances. So, I didn't give up. I began chanting Hanuman Chalisa and completed it in a Government hospital.
As I opened my eyes, I saw my dad. His serene face indicated that the motorcycle wasn't so damaged.
I too wasn't hurt much. In fact, an evergreen ray of hope had begun to pass through the tunnel of my front teeth.
My cousin was fine too. His left hand was still intact.
Inspite of all this, my dad banned me from riding a motorcycle.
I argued in court of law that the accident was purely unintentional in an attempt to uphold the constitutional rights of pigs.
Besides, the motorcycle belonged to my dad’s friend.
So, technically no damage could be claimed. Henceforth, I should be freed of all the charges by restoring my right back.
Alas! I was rewarded with a slap sentence.

Here is the reason...
Their promotional offer was when I do the first transaction using their app, I'll get ?100 directly into my bank account.
But in the T&C, they didn't mention that the offer is valid only once per mobile number. So, I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it and did the same with the same mobile number. I got ?100 again :p. So, Obviously, I did that multiple times and got money each time.
But after an hour it wasn't working. Next morning they upxed the T&C and added one extra line "The offer is valid only once per Mobile number". I ignored.
Next weekend when I was bored, I checked the offer again and it was upxed. The offer was "You'll get 50% Cashback up to ?200 when you do the first UPI transaction" and the T&C was same as earlier. So, the same mobile number won't work now.
You know, SBI net banking allows us to instantly change our registered mobile number. So, I changed my mobile number and did the same once again.
So, I took all the mobile numbers in my family and I repeated the same one after another.
After, few hours, It stopped working again.

I gave one of my favorite coffee houses a five star review on Yelp. I wrote favorably about all aspects of the cafe, except I noted that their espresso needed improvement. I am banned from ever rejoining the US Air Force.
Background: I enlisted in the USAF at age 17. Tested really high on the asvab and was able to pick pretty much any job I wanted. I chose to be a Crew Chief.
I did well on my training and hoped I would be assigned to this beast of an aircraft:
I did get it! I was super excited.
After some time, I was excelling in my training and doing well enough that when my supervisor retired (when I was in service, you had a supervisor crew chief and an assistant or two, depending on the aircraft), they left me, the assistant, alone on the aircraft. The supervisors on either side of me on the flight line would look in on me and sign off on things that were above my grade.
What went wrong: One day, we received a TO, that’s a tech order, stating something you have to do regarding the aircraft. The TO said to ground all planes until a certain O-ring was changed out. So, I did just that. I red Xed my plane and signed off on the log. The part was on back order and I had no idea when it would come in.
Enter my first sergeant. I was coming back from having the plane washed (which was kinda cool, I got to sit in the cockpit as the aircraft was towed to the washing area) and he asked me why the plane has been grounded for so long. I explained about the TO, and he told me to never mind, unground the plane and get it prepped for sorties (flights). I was a bit stunned, and mentioned that it was a TO and, as far as I knew, that meant that under no circumstances should the plane be allowed to fly until the part was changed. I got a lecture

Long story short, he made my life miserable.
One notable encounter of many: One time, I broke a sliding glass window, went to the dorm manager (guy in charge of our barracks) and told him I broke it. I apologized and offered to pay for it. He said not to worry, it had been getting stuck and breaking for years and I wasn’t the first person to do it. I thought the issue was resolved.
The first sergeant called a dorm meeting, giving everyone crap about various things, and then he asks the group, “Ok who broke the window in the 2nd floor rec room?” I raised my hand. He looked at me and said, “I want the truth..who broke the window?” Perplexed, I stated, “I did..I’m sorry, I reported it.” This went on a few minutes, and he called me a liar. It turns out that he thought some other guy who was getting discharged broke it and had me say I did so he wouldn’t get into trouble. It doesn’t really make sense, as the dorm manager stated it wasn’t a big deal.
When it went really bad: After a year of this, my mother got cancer and got a terminal diagnosis. After talking with several of my fellow airmen, they suggested that since all of the pressure I was getting was pretty rough, I ask for a hardship discharge to care for my mother. Honestly, I did not need the discharge, I have several siblings who were taking care of my mom, but I talked the situation up to get out before I got into real trouble.

I held myself together as I left his office, but when I got to work, I broke down and told my squadron commander what happened. He took me over to the base commander and intervened. He said as far as he knew, I wasn’t responsible for any of this, how the first sergeant was always unfair to me, etc. I really owe this guy because even though he was an officer, a first sergeant has a lot of pull and could have caused him grief.
The end result: Well, after meeting with the base commander and the first sergeant to sign my discharge papers, the first sergeant handed me a paper. It was a form that said I was not eligible to ever re-join the USAF again. He said that if I signed that, everything else would be dropped and I’d be free to go with a hardship discharge under honorable conditions. I asked if he had a pen.
So, there it is. I’m banned form re-joining the United States Air Force again. It was a shame, as I really enjoyed it at the start.
NOTE: The US Army was hounding me shortly after to join them and train on helicopters. They did not give a crap about the US Air Force ban. I declined, but it was nice to be asked.

Few months ago (six or seven months to be precise), I used to purchase lot of “cutie cutie” things like dabbas (containers), kitchen appliances, and kitchen gadgets, etc. from those websites.
Soon, all my kitchen cupboards were overflowing with these “cute” things.
I know that purchases made on the basis of ‘cuteness’ is not a good idea.
But I could not resist my temptation for cuteness.
One day, my husband saw the overflowing kitchen cupboards.
He is a practical person and not impressed by ‘cuteness’ of things.
“I am banning you from purchasing these useless things from those online sites” he declared.
“Oh God! Now what shall I do? Born in a land where Pativratas like Sita, Savitri, Anasuya, etc. are born, will it be proper to disobey the ban imposed by husband?” I thought.
I was in a dilemma.
Then a wonderful thing happened.
I discovered Quora!
I forgot about all those cute things completely. My entire online time is occupied by Quora.
Now my husband is thankful to Quora :)

I'm banned from a church in my hometown.
Until the age of about 18, I was an avid Christian. I attended seminars, camps, events, and actively converted people. I read my Bible during lunch at school and was actually moved in my 9th grade math class for talking too much (conversion attempt lol). My mom worked at my church and we attended together as a family thrice per week.
This church is one of, if not the biggest church in my hometown. Our youth group (7th — 12th grades) often had small events to encourage us to bring friends. Whoever brings the most friends gets an Xbox type of functions.
On this particular evening, there were probably quadruple the number of average attendees. The room was packed with probably close to 80 students. Everything started as normal and then our pastor closed the lights.
An audio recording began of a teenage boy shortly after dying in a car accident. He was walking to the gates of heaven and explaining how beautiful it all is — pearly gates and whatnot. Then the angel checked to see if his name was in the Book of Life, the holy book with all names admitted to Heaven.
His name wasn't present and it was revealed that his friend was going to tell him about Jesus the following day but he died too soon. As the dead friend was being literally dragged to hell he was screaming. Absolute shit scared screaming. Why didn't you tell me about Jesus, he cried. You could have saved me.
The younger kids were noticeably shaken up and crying. This was deeply unsettling, traumatizing, and a cruel scare tactic to send out Jesus' salesmen (I'm kind of against converting people now, sorry if anyone is offended by my statement).
Having a pretty casual relationship with the pastor, as my mom worked at the church, I approached him to see if he was aware of the effect it was having on the younger kids. He insisted that they needed to hear this and refused to do anything about it.
I'm not a confrontational person even in the slightest, but he told everyone after the fact how disrespectful I had been and pushed for me to be kicked out.
My family had had to stop attending another church when I was in 4th grade due to their disapproval of me reading Harry Potter books lol. Maybe I just have bad luck.

I am banned from writing reviews for Amazon for the products I buy. SEVEN years ago -you heard that right, I accidentally complained about the company (who gave me terrible service) in the review space instead of the product. Apparently they complained and had me banned from ever leaving a review again.
I am only guessing at this is the reason because of timing because I never got notification that I had done something wrong. I was never given the chance to revoke it. I only found out when I next tried to write one.
Over the years I have written, phoned and it always ends the same. I get an email saying I did not comply and go on to list the generic rules. I keep asking what I specifically did.
it’s not the end of the world situation, I just hate the helplessness of not being given any real information.
