In 2018, I visited a Guangdong McDonald''s. I ordered a small iced tea. It cost about $3, more than what I would have paid in the US, about $1.00. In 2019, in Fuzhou, my order of two pieces of KFC chicken, cost a little more than what I would have paid back home. A cup of regular charbuck in Shanghai in 2014 cost me $4. more than what I paid in US1.98. I find KFC cheapest in Malaysia, but in Australia, I had to pay extra for ketchup.

Way, way back, for the first few years after McDonalds opened in Australia, we had "Southern Fried Chicken" which was essentially threee(?) pieces of fried chicken resembling KFC, in a box. I remember it being crunchier than KFC but tasting a little different

I have only eaten at McDonald''s about 4 times in my lifetime, not because I wanted to but because I was traveling and there were either no other options or the second option was even worse. I don''t know about their restaurants in China, but in general, the company uses about 13 types of chemicals in their food: ammonium sulfate, silicone oil, TBHQ, propylene glycol, carminic acid, cellulose, silica, cysteine-L, dimethylpolysiloxane, acrylamide, azodicarbonamide, sodium acid pyrophosphate, and dactyl tartaric acid esters of monoglycerides. Many of you may have noticed that their foods have an artificial taste. These chemicals explain the reason. Other American fast food chains also use chemicals, but I think McDonald''s uses the most. So, I try to do all I can to stay away from fast-food restaurants.

In the UK the McDonald’s coffee is actually quite good and much better value than Starbucks.
I would probably try it if it China, but would probably want to try it only once for the novelty. It’s the opportunity for all the Chinese food which would be more appealing to me.
One thing I noticed was how quiet the streets were. Was there a reason for that?

In indonesia our mcd made the fried chicken from probably 2 decades ago. The first version is not tasty as the seasoning taste bit stale, but now days it is good and they have indonesian seasoning taste too.
