I started at 24 and I paid myself minimum wage till I was about 40. My husband was a bit more successful he started his business at 35 when he got his doctorate and by the time he was 47 he could increase his wage above minimum wage. I have been in business now for roughly 48–49 years, I now make a nice income and the business is doing very well but it takes time, hard work, patience, and the ability to defer gratification. I started my 4th business 3 years ago (at 57) and I'm really enjoying it. Yeah, when I started my first business at age 26, it was a lot easier to work long hours but my productivity was lower. I made mistakes at a lot higher rate than I do now. More rework and do-overs. More agonizing over the right path or just plunging ahead without a clear view of the big picture. Plus the occasional really dumb idea pursued with vigor.
Of course, now I sometimes forget why I went to the tool chest and which tool I wanted!

Not at all. In 2017 I was 55 and started my own Amazon store - Sells Books and More - where I sell books, movies and video games. It was slow at first because I only sold books, but as I learned more, I expanded my product lines. I’m 57 now (58 later this year) and last year my sales were over 40,000 part-time.
