There are many plans for every day of life. Holding a party, cutting the cake, drinking with friends late at night, but this is just a plan that my friends and family have set for me, such a birthday is not different from others, and I want to do something different:
I had booked myself a camping trip on the top of the mountain.
Important things in my check list

So after hitting all the ticks in my check list, 2 days before my birthday, i left for the trip. But i didnt wanted to be rude so i messaged all my friends saying, "as much as I am honored that you guys planned all this, i had a better idea that involved me. and i have alos switched off my cell phone.

After 5 hours of traveling, i reached the destination, but little did i know that the venue had lot of people coming around that time of the year. But think, it doesn't matter much.
The venue had raffling, rock climbing, trekking etc etc organized on the site itself. There was no tv, radio or anything, just people and nature.
One side of the hotel had mountain peaks and other side had rivers flowing by.I have to say that was so beautiful. For our hotel rooms they had build tents with cloth.

经过5个小时的车程，我到达了目的地，但我不知道每年的这个时候这里会有很多人前往，不过想想，这也没有多大关系吧。
场地的负责人组织了抽奖、攀岩、徒步旅行等活动。这里没有电视、收音机或任何电子设备，只有人类和大自然。
我住的地方是用布搭建的帐篷，一边是山峰，另一边是河流,不得不说这里简直太美了!

I spent my entire day reading in my tent and in the evening I played table tennis, carrom, volleyball with other people in the camp site. As the evening progressed, i did some trekking at the peak of the mountain.
The scenery was amazing, watching the sunset, in a place where it seems the best gift i could have given myself.

我一整天都在帐篷里看书，晚上我和营地里的其他人一起打乒乓球、羽毛球、排球。随着夜幕的降临，我在山顶进行了徒步旅行。
看着日落，欣赏着令人惊叹的风景，我想这是我能给自己最好的礼物吧。

For me it was all about Soul Searching. I wanted to find my inner happiness. Being a loner, and introvert, I always wanted to visit a place whereI can feel the ground of life alone . Just enjoy the time away from people,i believe it has made me such a different person.
The experience surely trumped any dinner in any 5 star restaurant or any wish i could have gotten that day.
Thanks to this experience, it has became my yearly thing. I plan trips and follow the same routine every year.

Interesting you should ask that question at age 81 because last night a dear friend of mine who is age 50 ask me they could have a dinner for me to celebrate my 82nd birthday they.
For the past 5 years I've been living for the past 5 years I've been living alone as I had my wife divorced me in 2014 cuz she spent all our money all right I'm not going to do it again so that's why I'm not married anymore and I will never get married again I don't have any children anyway So marriage doesn't matter to me.

So normally we would go out to dinner years ago in birthday and then come home , have some champagne and listen to some great music which I have a vast collection so we could dancing in the house, it was nice but that's all history, I have worked for the family for 8 years,to the last, nothing.
My friend had a restaurant and a coffee shop west of Jacksonville, and I happened to work near him. One day I saw a Vietnamese woman running a nail shop decorating the store, wondering why, there was always a force driving me in, and I came to the corner nail shop from the back door of the cafe, but I couldn't get in because the door in their shop was broken. As I felt that I might help, I beckoned to the people inside. It was because of this help that I became good friends with this Vietnamese woman.

I used to celebrate my birthday with lot of friends. I used to give party to my friends. We spend a lot of time chatting about our college, laughing, making fun of our class teachers, playing jokes on some of our classmates and other lecturers. I wonder why, at the end of each birthday, I always have a feeling of something missing this year. To fill the missing part, I started planning how to celebrate my next birthday at the end of my next birthday.
One day during my mothers colleague ( my mom is a school teacher) requested my mom to drop her at some place on my mother's bike. As my mom was busy on that day, she asked me to go with that teacher. So I went to drop her. She asked me whether I can wait for few more minutes. I said ok . So I parked her bike aside, when a girl came to us.

过去我常常会和许多朋友一起庆祝我的生日，也常常会给他们举办生日聚会。我们老是会花很多时间去谈论我们的大学生活，开开班主任、其他老师以及一些同学的玩笑。不知道为什么，每次生日的最后，我总会有一种今年少了些什么的感觉。为了填补这缺失的部分，我在上次生日结束的时候就开始计划该如何庆祝我的下一次生日了。
一天，我妈妈的一个同事(我的妈妈是一名老师)请求我妈妈骑自行车把她送到某个地方，不过那天我妈妈很忙，她便让我送那个老师去。我把她送到目的地以后，她问我能不能再等几分钟，我答应后便在一边停放自行车，这时一个女孩向我们走来了。

The teacher told us that she is her daughter. We went inside the gate. Then only I realised that it is a school meant for orphan children. She took the sweets that brought with her and gave it to her daughter. Her daughter distributed those sweets among the children. I really touched by seeing the happiness on their faces. The girl went to class after dividing the candy, and then I left with the teacher and sent her home after that.

这个老师告诉我这是她的女儿，我和她们一起走进了大门，进去后我才意识到这是一所专门为孤儿开设的学校。她把随身带来的糖果给了女儿，她的女儿再把那些糖果分发给其他的孩子们。看着他们脸上的幸福，我的内心也十分的感动。女孩分完糖果后就去上课了，之后我和这个老师一起离开，把她送回家后我也回家了。

After coming home my mom told me about that teacher’s family situations. They are living in a combined family of 12 people in all. Their family rules are very strict andthey should not spend even a penny without the head of the family’s( girls grand father) permission. Her grand father gives 50 INR per month as a pocket money to the children in the family. This girl saved her 6 months pocket money just to buy sweets for those orphan children on her birthday. And that idea was supported by her mother.
This may not be a stunning incident for many of the people as our brain used to see many such scenes in movies but when u experienced such an incident it will make a remarkable impact on you. Similarly this made a large impact on me. Since then I stopped celebrating my birthday with friends.

For me it's a day to introspect myself. On that day I write a letter to myself. I write about my aims, my interests, my hobbies, How should I spend my next birthday and how I will change my thinking in the coming year and so on.I will sit in silence for at least an hour and talk with myself constantly.
Birthday is a wonderful day belonging to me, and I did a lot of meaningful things that day. I don't feel something missing at the end of my birthday.

Birthday is a very special occasion in every body’s life. People expect a number calls, messages from parents(a must wish) and all the people on their social medias, contacts, or your job area,also hope that my wishes can be realized on this day.
Birthday usually starts with a midnight surprise either by your parents(if you are home) prepare it for youor your friends (if you are staying away)prepare it for you. Cake facial, decorations, gifts all these are the things with which we start our usual birthdays with. And then the day continues, we tend to feel special as each n every person we meet us with a warm smile. And we party with our loved ones celebrating our special day.

生日是每个人生命中非常特殊的时刻。人们期待着来自父母和所有社交媒体、联系人或者同事的电话、信息，也希望在这一天可以实现自己的愿望。

But nahh… This is not the way I feel we should celebrate our birthday and end it up so casually! Past 19 years I too celebrated my birthday the same way but this time when I was turning 20, I think a little different, I want to achieve myself a wish!And whola.. I succeeded in it… I learned Salsa, which was one of the desire in my bucket list and see the coincidence , I got to perform it in front of my whole college on the day of my birthday… I feel that my birthday is something to give myself in addition to receiving everyone's blessing and inviting my loved ones to the party.

但是啊…...我觉得我们不应该这样庆祝生日，然后就这么随意地结束了！在过去的19年里，我也以同样的方式庆祝我的生日，但是这一次，我想有点不一样，在我20岁的时候，我想要实现自己的一个愿望！我成功的学会了萨尔萨舞，这是我愿望清单上的其中一项，很巧的是，生日那天我在所有大学同学面前表演了它，我觉得生日除了接受每个人的祝福和邀请我爱的人参加聚会之外，还应该送给自己的一些东西。

Of course, you could be asked that "Why?" You don't necessarily do it as I said and you can honestly say that you are celebrating something today, and you would like for that person to celebrate with you.
It would not be a simple celebration, it would be more of an affirmation, of an act to mark the passing of another year of your life, and you will be creating something more valuable than a present: you will be making memories.
If your heart has defined the birthday form as a fixed ritual or tradition, then you can do so, before your birthday, do a good act of kindness and at least help a person, then there will be at least two happy people on the planet on your birthday.

当然，你可能会问到"为什么？”你并不一定要像我说的那么做，你可以诚实地说，你今天在庆祝什么，你希望谁和你一起庆祝。

Today was my birthday and I decided to make a donation for the treatment of elderly cancer patients. There are many old age people who suffer daily because of this deadly disease and they cannot even afford the palliative treatment. My donation will take care of the medication of three old age cancer patients for a whole year. This is a small contribution that I made on my birthday this year and I am writing about this on Quora not to win votes or hearts of people, but I aim to make people aware about the true reason of donations.

Many people think that they don’t owe anyone their money. I agree, you work hard and earn your fortune. But the thing is, no one is born equal and provided the equal opportunities. There are many adversaries which no one has any control of in this society and they can hit anyone at anytime. So I feel that we should all feel happy and contended with our lives and good health and,try to go to the help those who are not as fortunate as us. Just try to bring smile on someone’s face by taking some of his burden upon your shoulders

I have never been excited about my birthday and I always want to spend my time alone on that day to think on what I have achieved in these many years.
I had spent my birthday in 2015 alone. I was in Hyderabad (away from home) and I didn't have many friends other than my colleagues so I was happy as this year I can spend my birthday my way.

我从来不会因为生日的到来而感到兴奋，我总是想在那一天独自度过，思考一下我在这一年里取得了什么成就。
2015年的生日我是独自一人度过的，那时我在海德拉巴(远离家乡)，除了我的同事以外，我没有很多朋友。我很高兴今年我终于可以过我自己想过的生日了。

This is how I spent my birthday:
I woke up at six in the morning, went for a jog, took bath, read newspaper and check out the cell phone for breakfast . While walking to office I spoke to my family.
I spent only few hours at the office and went to an orphanage with cake, snacks and chocolates. This was my first orphanage visit and I realised how much different their life. Although they have no loved ones, they still love life and enjoy every minute, every second, they have spent in orphanages. This experience made me understand, don't always feel unhappy with life, I have been very happy compared to these orphans.

我就是这样过生日的：
我早上六点醒来，慢跑，洗澡，看报纸，吃早餐的时候再看看手机。走向办公室的路上，我和家人通了一通电话。
我在办公室只呆了几个小时，之后就带着蛋糕、零食和巧克力去了孤儿院。这是我第一次去孤儿院，进去之后我才意识到他们的生活有多么的不同。虽然他们没有亲人的陪伴，但是他们仍然热爱生活，也很享受他们在孤儿院度过的每一分，每一秒。这次经历让我明白了：不要老是对生活感到不满，相比这些孤儿，我已经过得很幸福了。

After leaving the orphanage, I took a few coupons and went to a new restaurant above, where the food was said to be delicious. Because today is a working day, there are very few people here, but it does not affect my good mood.
After dinner, I turned on my phone and found that many people had sent me my birthday wishes.
When I got home, I played Sudoku for a while and I fell asleep.
This was my best birthday in 23 years.

离开孤儿院后，我拿着几张优惠券，去了上面的一家新餐厅，这里的食物据说很好吃。因为今天是工作日，这里人很少，不过不影响我的好心情。
饭后，我打开手机，发现很多人都给我发了生日祝福。
回到家后，我玩了会儿数独，看了会儿小说就睡着了。
这是我23年来过得最好的一次生日。

My ideal way to celebrate birthday would be:
meet a few close friends
spend time at an orphanage
spend time at an old-age home
donate money to a charity
feed animals
go for a trip alone or with friends or family
and the most important thing is to continue doing this the next full year and not just on birthday.

我庆祝生日的理想方式是：

I am a party animal. I always throw party in my birthday . But this time I did something totally different.
It was 1st November, my birthday. As usual my father came to me and asked what I wanted for my birthday. I said nothing, “I've everything.”

我很喜欢举办派对，特别是生日的时候，但是这次生日，我做了和过去完全不一样的事情。
那是11月1日，我的生日，像往常一样，我父亲来问我生日想要什么礼物，我什么也没说，回复到：“我什么都有。”

When he asked me for my party plans, I denied. Instead I said I want to donate in the old age home. My father was glad hearing it. He didn't make any delay in fulfilling my wish, we make 90 packets consists of daily needs materials along with food items and sweets and went to the Nursing Home.
After reaching the nursing home,I started distributing gifts to those old ladies and gentlemen. They gave me ashirwaad (blessings) and they seemed happy. I felt content. I felt happy.I was impressed by an old grandmother,when I went to her with the gift her eyes are full of tears and I can see through them that she want her kids instead of any gifts. I felt like crying but I controlled my emotions.

当他问我的生日派对打算怎么弄的时候，我没有说这个，反而说我想捐点钱给养老院。我的父亲听到这件事后很高兴，他很支持我的想法，我们做了90个装有日常用品以及食品和糖果的包裹一起去了养老院。
到了养老院后，我开始给那些老爷爷老奶奶们分发礼物，他们看起来很开心，给了我生日祝福，对此我感到很满足，也觉得很开心。有一位年纪很大的老奶奶让我印象很深刻。当我带着礼物去见她时，她的眼睛里充满了泪水，我知道她想要见见她的孩子，而不是收到任何礼物。我想哭，但我控制住了自己的情绪。

Then there were some other old women who were pleased and said ‘ Diwali ki mithai laya' ( atlast someone brought us sweets for Diwali )
Distribuout the gifts and went home after hugging them and having a lot of blessing from those old people. I felt great.
When I came home my father said get ready for your birthday party , he organised one party and invited his friends . I enjoyed that day.
