I wonder if the anti-mask people don't realize it isn't the flu or mild, and that it's also airborne. Or see mask wearing as being a shame, like being crippled and "embarrassing". (I got made fun of most of my life for disability and I don't believe it's a shame to wear braces, be in a wheelchair, or have a condition.) People are fearful and then judgement follows. They'd rather risk crippling pulmonary fibrosis or give Covid to others than than "look like a dork."
This guy was told many times. There's no excuse.

I dont think there is shame from wearing a mask in Japan, people have been doing it here for years.
If anything, in Japan's youth and older people it seems to be laziness: they don't want to be inconvenienced by the extra effort of wearing it properly.
Most of the time they could get away with not wearing it properly too, since as long as it's on your face people don't bother you even if it's wrongly put on.
